City Advent Calendar - Day 19

Posted by ,

Given day eighteen brought a mini LEGO truck, it would seem appropriate to find another mini set or perhaps some printed LEGO set boxes behind door nineteen.

Open the door and see what we have...

We are now within a week of Christmas Day, so I am glad the Advent Calendar is focusing more on specifically seasonal items, such as this snowman. The vast majority of City and lots of other Advent Calendars come with a snowman and a truly definitive version has never been produced, so they continue to differ. This example is pretty basic, although I like the red scarf and the tricorn hat.

Overall - This is not my favourite LEGO snowman, but it looks good and I like the reddish brown arms in particular.

Paul Revere seems an odd choice for this time of year.

My first thought was pirate, because that's where that element sees the most use, but yeah.

And you thought top hats were an antiquated look for snowmen, try a tricorn!

Did they ever try a quadcorn or a pentacorn hat?

Why couldn't that connecting plate be white, like the rest of him?

I was hoping for a festive hat or something more interesting for him to hold, but overall pretty nice snowman though not the best.

Maybe that was an attempt at the coal that traditionally decorates snowmen?

A coal belt buckle? Is that a thing?
