Minecraft Advent Calendar - Day 3
Posted by TheBrickPal,Yesterday's tree was a little disappointing, but I hope we can get back on track with whatever lies behind the third door.
Let's find out!
This group of accessories - a crafting table, torch, and shovel - is indeed better, and makes sense, but is still kind of bland. However, as common as these items are, more are obviously useful in your LEGO Minecraft world, and this are a good start for those new to the theme. The crafting table can even be put on the jumper plate under the tree from Day 2.
Overall - 3.0 - A bit of an improvement, but not by much! Hopefully more unique gifts are to arrive soon...

I suddenly saw a villager's face in that crafting table, and now I can't unsee it.
The progression actually makes sense, so far. When you start out in Minecraft, there's just you. The first thing you probably do is punch a tree to get wood, then the next thing is build a crafting table and some tools.

I'm not arguing that, but it's still boring. :-)

and of course you use your first wood to make a SHOVEL.
I’m not sure what I was expecting from a Minecraft advent calendar but I’m pretty sure this wasn’t it
Man, the Human Torch has seen better days.
Nothing we havent seen before.
Nothing to see here. Really
Still, a weapon / tool and three printed parts is better than many days in past calendars.
May not be the most exciting build, especially for seasoned LEGO Minecraft fans, but the importance of the crafting table cannot be overstated.
That, and I know you all have a couple dozen crafting tables in your chests that you made and forgot about.
... I should clear those out sometime.
Ahhh, so now the space below the tree makes sense.
I'm not a Minecraft person so this calendar wasn't meant for me. That being said, the number of parts each day is impressive so far. And even special printed ones too!

Well, Alex already had an axe (that she must have used console commands to get).

There's also the fact that, taken from the perspective of a Lego builder, the printed pieces that go into a table have a pattern that could be used to make a nice wall or floor, so having a lot could be useful.
Okay, so... better than yesterday, definitely, although... still just a tad disappointed. Can't argue with getting a crafting table, really; it does happen to be my favorite block in the entire game. Still really peeved about the shrub yesterday, though.
