Minecraft Advent Calendar - Day 4
Posted by TheBrickPal,After a couple of less-than-stellar days in the Minecraft Advent Calendar, I am confident that today will be able to break away from the basic terrain and items to give us something more desirable on Day 4.
Are my hopes too high? Let's see...
Fortunately not, as we get another minifigure! This Creeper is definitely an improvement. It may be the same old Creeper found in plenty of sets, but as I like to say, you can never have too many. Sweet berry bushes are commonly found in snowy taiga biomes, so including one here also makes sense to me.
Someone in the comments of my recent review of 21583 Steve's Taiga Adventure asked for more photos of the Creeper minifigure, so I am happy to oblige here! I tend to forget that despite their familiarity with fans of the theme, a lot of people have not encountered one before.
The sweet berry bush looks nice, and has a seasonally-appropriate color scheme. In the game, mobs slow down and take damage while moving through them, so this won't be a happy holiday for the Creeper!
Overall - 4.0 - While common, a generic Creeper is a welcome inclusion, which could even be someone's introduction to this classic minifigure. The sweet berry bush is appealing, too.

Bit of an upgrade from the last couple of days, that bush is very appropriately seasonal
I don't know how they appear in the game, but _someone_ clearly doesn't know how berries work.
And also the HPAC failed to publish.
Ok, now this is a great scene.

I believe we delayed it because of the modular reveal, but it'll be up soon!
And the progression I mentioned yesterday continues, as the Creeper is generally encountered pretty early on. But like you said, one can never have too many!

Weird, because the previous HPAC comments closed right on schedule.
Aww man

It's a little green bush with red berries spread all over, so this is honestly not a bad representation. Better than placing the red pieces on top, certainly.
Alright, fair's fair, Drax has looked worse.
Still not sure I'm on board with the "weak start" train here, I am liking this more than the last Marvel calendars already. Having the entries proceed as if a new game were started is a neat idea, and even the tree is something that slots well into any existing MC build.
I like the snowy taiga theme continuing with this entry, and the Creeper is just a classic. Don't let him run into the sweet berry bushes, the thorns hurt.

Is it? Which part of the berry usually attaches to the plant stalk, the fruit itself, or the leafy green bit? Best design would have been to attach the green parts through the base, and put the red parts studs-up on top. I mean, _best_ option would be to get a plant stem with down-turned stalks, but I don’t think they’re likely to make that mold just to fix one highly stylized day in an Advent Calendar.
Simple but effective, and it goes further than strictly needed (could've just given us a creeper). I like how the 'blocks' you get keep expanding!
