Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 17

I was pleased with yesterday's Treadwell Droid and I am expecting another droid to appear on day seventeen, one hopefully as impressive as the Treadwell.
Let's open the door and see...
A droid-themed Advent Calendar would never be complete without a Battle Droid, although this one is a little different to normal. The mismatched grey arm gives the figure some character and the backpack is a nice addition too, again distinguishing this Battle Droid from most others. Also, a B1 Battle Droid does appear in Babu Frik's shop in The Rise of Skywalker, so this is a suitable addition to the calendar.
Overall - I appreciate that this Battle Droid is distinctive, but it is not terribly interesting.

Day 17 (bit lackluster):
0 points (+ 24 from yesterday = 24): Dy - very basic
1 (+49 = 50): HP - low poly
2 (+54 = 56): SW - how does a B1 make it this far? Because of the odd-coloured parts.
3 (+39 = 42): Fr - An overfed grumpy guinea pig. With its corner.
4 (+28 = 32): MC - Some points for minecraft today, because the stray is weird and interesting - and grey.
5 (+46 = 51): Ct - because the prints look good in the picture.
Disney: Small, but nice Christmas tree, plus gifts. 4/5p
Friends: 3.5/5p
Minecraft: 3.5/5p
Harry Potter: Too similar to Buckbeak, it could use more black and https://brickset.com/parts/4538456/stick-%C3%B83-2-2mm-w-knob-and-tube pieces as legs. The zigzag brick is cool, though. 3.5/5p

Why, sure! R0-GR, the last of the Battle Droids! His exploits during the Clone Wars are legendary. And you can read all about them in his autobiography: "From Trenches to Wrenches: The Roger Story!"
This one really reminds me of that one Clone Wars Episode with that kid, that reactivated some old CIS droids and made them follow him.
There’s been a fair few mismatched battle droids at this point, I feel like you could put them all in one team.

I immediately swapped his body and legs for the spares we got in the box of droid parts a few days ago. White body, gold legs. Give him more character.
It might have been nice if this droid had been a little more mismatched, and then the crate from earlier had the pieces to swap in and make a plain version.
This was a missed opportunity to put R0-GR in a calendar, though.

Like any LEGO, it's the story we give it, and from the other comments I can see the humor, excitement, community, myths - everything from artwork to heroics ....

Isn't this the distinctive B1 Battle Droid from Clone Wars Episode 18 "Mystery of a Thosand Moons" from Season 1 when Anakin and Obi-Wan meet the Kid Jaybo on Planet Lego who has strangely disfigured Droids with mixed-up parts around him, all saying, "Welcome to Lego" ??

I wonder how a Christmas battle droid could work, without introducing new recolours. You could do an olive green and dark orange ("red") one, or maybe tan head and legs with a red torso and white arms for a Christmas sweater.

I’ve got one that’s standard tan, with a red torso, a white Santa beard (it works, but weirds out a member of my LUG), and riding a Christmas STAP (original MOC, in red/white/black). Since I’d already done the design work, and I have spare B1 droids from other SWACs, I’ve since built the same design in reddish-brown Ep1 livery. Haven’t checked to see if dark-blue is possible yet, and I can’t remember if there are any other Lucas-canon liveries. I might see if I can do a gingerbread version.
Even this calendar cannot escape the obligatory B1 battle droid.
I wish we'd get backpacks on them more often, it really elevates the figure.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this is the first time we’ve seen a B1 battle droid with a backpack since 4478 in 2002, and the first time ever we’ve seen one with an antenna (which they had in the orignal Lego Star Wars video game).
I like the backpack and antenna. The battle droid is also a great match for this droid themed calender.
I just wish it came with something else too.

Maybe that’s why the nice droid parts were in that crate, give it some character from just average parts in a bin
