LEGO Speed Champions APXGP Formula 1 Car revealed!
Posted by CapnRex101,2025 has been a year heavily focused on Formula 1 in certain themes and another set, this time inspired by F1: The Movie, will be released next year.
77252 APXGP Team Race Car is designed at the same scale as the Speed Champions F1 sets released earlier this year and includes both the team's drivers from the movie, Sonny Hayes and Joshua Pearce.
The set will be released on January 1st alongside 77255 Lightning McQueen and 77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future, costing £22.99, $27.99 or €27.99.

I haven't seen the movie, but I appreciate the unique side pods and the fact that a second minifig has been added to offset the price increase a little bit. A nice model to get on discount.
It looks like a batmobile on the top view picture, nice.
First ever official Brad Pitt minifigure, I presume?
Nice helmet print. And the now-obligatory wider rear tires!
George Clooney minifig next?
And a CMF version of both, each with their respective coffee maker of choice included as accessory.
abysmal stickers
Looks nice, great to get both characters in the set. Sticker count looks to be lower than the other F1 cars so that’s something too.
Sonny Haze, sweepin' the clouds away. On my way to where the air is clear....
Now I have the Sesame Street theme stuck in my head.
I'm generally anti-griping, but man I hope next year's meta-theme allows for something more than a dozen variations on the same basic model.
“Expensify!”
- The Lego company casting spells
Lol, i don't know why but I find this very hilarious
If I still collected SC sets I would have honestly bought two of this
That's an easier pass than overtaking an Alpine.
Do we think they have double sided heads? Seems weird to have them both in sunglasses, when they're F1 drivers and don't spend much time wearing sunglasses in the movie
Looking excellent, as do all the announced upcoming Speed Champions so far. Might have a bit of trouble waiting for them to drop to the standard £15!
Does it come with upgraded components as well as previously-approved sh!tbox components?

"abysmal stickers"
There are 22 stickers and 19 printed elements including the tires, minifigures and their helmets. Compared to other SC sets, that's not so bad.
Nope......not for me.
As much of an F1 fan I might be, I only got the RB20, and absolutely hated building it. Yes, it's a cool build, but those stickers....I'll never be a fan of stickers to begin with, but usually I can get over that. But somehow not with this one: Too many, too small, too impossible to align perfectly. Took me three weeks to finish the thing, purely out of frustration. So that's one reason I won't bother with this one nor with any of the other ones.
(and why did those not get actual driver minifigs?)
The other reason is I just don't have any interest in the movie. I've seen a few trailers, and those were so downright ridiculous. And from any reviews I've seen it certainly doesn't seem like the final product was any better. It's just baffling to me that they could make a movie with this much involvement of the F1 organization, the teams and drivers, and still don't get it right.
Looks like a duracell battery.
is it a duracell car ? looks nice
Mêh, all those F1 cars made me decide I don't need all of the 8-wide SC cars, so most of those got a pass. As will Lightning McQueen ( too silly for a SC set).
This one I don't know yet. I quite like that it is not a sort-of-actual F1 car. At least it won't be outdated as soon as it comes out. But come on Lego, do a cool sturdy one like 76897 next, not that fiddly stickery stuff.
Always thought it would be fun if Lego did an ‘Octan’ sponsored F1 Speed Champs car - fake/pretend stylee

Same reason I don't get Hot Wheels F1. It's the same casting for every car and every year. They haven't done much vintage Formula One, either.
That being said--I'd love to see LEGO tackle the Lotus 49 that Hot Wheels did.
That being said, I have the Shell/Ferrari F1. It was a blast to build with some of the most complex techniques in a $20-ish set.
Very surprised to see the number missing from the nose of the car. I’d buy two sets if there were alternate 7 and 9 stickers to personalise the cars to the drivers.

Gotta love the irony of LEGO's pricing lately, and having this printed on a set...

We kind of do with the upcoming Batman and Robin Batmobile!
Loved the movie, very happy about this pick for a licensed Speed Champions set. I only have a single F1 car from this year’s lineup so not too burnt out on the design haha.
That Brad Pitt mini figure is spot on ;)
My favourite movie of the year, so definitely getting this set!
I like the black and gold color scheme, reminds me of the old Lotus colors.
As a massive fan of Formula 1 and F1 the movie, I'll be getting this day one, along with the DeLorean. It's so good to get our first Lego Brad Pitt as well.
Well, just another f1 car.
Same frontwing construction as the other 10.
Loads of stickers to make it look good.
Need I say more?
One plus: the black gold livery, reminds me of the famous john player special lotus f1 car of the '70s
If you'd told me that 77256 wouldn't be the last SC car with two minifigures, I'd have said, "Oh, cool. If you'd then told me that the next one would be a Formula 1 car, I'd have said, "Wait, what?"

Even if it had as many stickers as every other F1 set, I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
I only want Brad Pitts head..
Great color & Brad too, awesome! It's going in my SC collection.
I collected all the F1 sets this year and this one will not be an exception

"Bring me the head of Brad Pitt!"
What a way to start 2026...three new Speed Champions set to buy: this F1 car 77252, Lighting McQueen (77255) and the Delorean (77256)
I love speed champions F1 and F&F builds but im a bit surprised Lego didnt use flesh toned heads in other F1 sets
You think we need one more? You think we need one more. Alright, we'll get one more.

And now we *really* need a George Clooney minifig....
$28. I don’t know. I will wait for a sale.
I thought this movie already came out. I wasn’t interested in watching it since I’m not an F1 fan, but the car looks cool enough.

And it's hard to believe we haven't gotten a Matt Damon yet...
Although I guess Clooney plays Batman in "Batman and Robin" soooo...

In addition to

The Lego Group always wins. Play long enough, you never change the stakes, TLG takes you. Unless, when that perfect minifig comes along, you bet big, and then you take TLG.
I will avoid buying two as they are planning on a second movie; but I am sorely tempted...
The color scheme is beautiful, especially on the helmet.
That Brad Pitt head reminds me of Fight Club, with the orange glasses…
