One of the best sets released in recent years, 10305 Lion Knights' Castle, is currently 20% off at LEGO.com in the UK, taking its price down to £276.

The 4,514-piece set, which comes with 22 minifigures, is sold out in mainland Europe already, so you'll need to be quick if you want to secure one before it's also out of stock in the UK.

Update: it's now out of stock – I hope you were quick enough!

This is why I buy this kind of thing well in advance of the retirement date. All the discounts in the world are meaningless if you can’t actually get the thing in question.

It didn't go out of stock at midnight, and still in stock now. £276 plus a further £27 of Insiders points plus two promo sets and about £20 of cashback if you use one of those sites. Gives a discount of £150+ if you sell on the promos and use the Insiders points.

Perhaps, but if the (anecdotal) experiences of people overseas are any indication, that availability is something that’s hard to predict ahead of time. I’d be very reluctant to roll those dice in the Black Friday period, regardless of the perks on offer.

By in Portugal,

This is the perfect case where "sold out" makes sense: a popular set about to be discontinued with a substantial discount. Not when you have a new released GWP that goes "sold out" in just 4 hours.

The discounted price for this promotion is the only price I found this set to be worth getting as a complete package but I missed my chance.
Minifigure and animal parts are still on Pick a Brick and I decked myself out with them until now anyway except for the Horse blankets which might look nicer if I were to make them out of cloth. The tan horse seems to go out of production so that would be the rarest and most expensive part here alongside the blankets. Plain shields are always available and printing on them or making stickers for them might even be way cheaper than getting the printed equivalent. The only pieces I would expect to become an issue to find if they go out of production are 79757 and 80543, both of which are in recent D2C sets so that is another 18 months at minimum. The flags are exclusive and overpriced on Pick a Brick but probably the easiest thing to just do yourself.

If it is only about the build of the castle and minifigures do not play a role it is probably just as expensive to buy the pieces via Bricklink and Pick-a-Brick which can be done at any time for as long as LEGO exists. Especially easy to do with the CSV upload tool now, just make a Rebrickable account for the list.

By in Czechia,

Hurry! You will not be able to buy it anywhere after this! Not in local stores, not on Bricklink... nowhere! :O

This set keeps receiving discounts, I guess Lego Castle just isn't a popular theme.

By in Austria,

This set was marked as sold out when I checked the site 00:25 in Austria. To bad but OK I was not meant to own it.

Tbf, only had one discount i can recall, back in 2023 when they did a £25 off voucher for an Insiders day's event - other than that not seen any other deals on it

By in Netherlands,

Had allready bought it so I could resist this temptation

It had a 25% discount in the US
10332 was discounted 1 month earlier

@Anonym The pricing of flags is a bit weird, if you buy 1 you get all 3 (flag, cape and big flag).

Got on it at midnight, wasn’t taking any chances. This set will, at minimum, double in value.

I mean, you’ve had 3 years in which to purchase it…

By in United States,

My disdain for LEGO corporate grows every year. Every year they deal with lack of stock or IT issues. And every year I buy less and less. Good plan.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

I already have it. Was thinking of a second copy but didnt do it. Saw it in stock, but no buy. Now out of stock, fomo for 10 mins. Now no fomo.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Despite being a castle fan I never bought this as I think it is overrated and overpriced. I thought maybe I'd buy it on this deal but I knew it wouldn't really be available. Lego only discounts stuff like this when they are already basically out of stock. I've still only bought one lego set all year for 30$. Next year I will probably buy zero.

By in Netherlands,

Surprised how long the inventories lasted. Stayed up until midnight because I was expecting it run out fast, but it was available for basically the entire morning here. With 20% off and another 10% in VIP points the price was about right. Two GWPs are a nice bonus.

By in Canada,

I did manage secure Ninjago city markets. Wanted to dive more into Ninjago world but at a good price. Plus 3 gwps and double points is so nice. It did went out of stock in 8 hours in north america. Batman, gringotts, disney castle i think was gone in an hour. Woke up at 2 am. Afols going crazy over licensed sets is real.

The rest I really couldn't care less. Dont have time, space, money to divert main interest to grab those deals.

I would never gamble a high priority set on the black friday or even october. Who knows when lego decides to cut production and have no backorders. Realistically, you should aim furthermost back the June of the year with double points.

Thankfully star wars will do some deal on may the 4th, and costco will always overstock star wars. Hard to miss out on star wars deals unless you are in the dark ages.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

It wont matter in the long run. Lego is never going to stop pumping out expensive sets. Key sets that are central part of many films like millennium falcon will be kept on shelves forever.

It is nice to get a good deal on less mainstream sets since my YouTube, Instagram, is spammed with lego star wars collections and maybe a few other licensed themes. Many sets not even stable like ucs tie interceptor. I dont feel like chasing everyone else's collection.

It states temporarily out of stock, so sounds like it might be back available?

By in United Kingdom,

Fantastic bargain at that price, 10305 is probably my all time favourite modern Lego set, and I paid full price.

By in Italy,

In stock as of 2 minutes ago, trying desperately not to buy…

Gravatar
By in United States,

Im surprised by the 'disgust' of a set that was wildly popular being sold out immediately. I wanted the castle, and I bought it when it came out (I did use some 'insider' points to get it cheaper). I was not going to try to wait until the last minute hoping I could snag one on a discount..

Moral of the story: If you want a set, buy it when it gets released, or shortly after. Do not wait til the last minute then blame resellers and IT issues as if you are doing that, then its a known issue you should plan for.

I had no issue for the first time ever, or at least in a long long time getting in to make my buys, No issues with adding to cart, getting the promos added, and then checking out. BUt that is the exception, not the norm with this company

Gravatar
By in United States,

I foolishly thought the discounts were going into effect on Black Friday weekend instead of insiders weekend! I was hoping to get the Gotham Skyline while it was 20% off but it was sold out by the time I realized the sale was on.

It is currently back ‘In Stock’ in the UK, for anyone wanting to buy. Might not last long

And 9 minutes later it's out of stock again (temporarily).
