Random figure of the day: njo0384
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random figure is njo0384 Hutchins, a NINJAGO figure that came in one set, 70643 Temple of Resurrection, released during 2018.
Our members collectively own a total of 3,451 of them. If you'd like to buy one you should find it for sale at Brick Owl or BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $6.50.

Hutchins? That's not at all the sort of name I would expect, based on what this minifig looks like.
Was just looking at this guy earlier today!
Wonder how he lucked out with getting a minifig when the likes of Hailmar and Gripe get left out.
always annoyed me how quickly they killed him off in the series, thought he was going to play a WAY bigger part than he did heh
Repeat, but the last one doesn't have a picture anymore, because it was before Ninjago figures got renumbered: https://brickset.com/article/98952/random-minifig-of-the-day-njo384. Also, going off the comments in the previous acrtice: He has an eyepatch and a horned helmet. Is he Loki pretending to be Odin, or Odin pretending to be Loki?
Only non-licensed minifigure to die in a terrorist mass-bombing?

Which licensed figures have died in a terrorist mass bombing?
This is why I like Ninjago and Dreamzzz, they give us beautiful minifigures. Some feel like collectible even.

Hmmm, the death star..? In all seriousness though, I can only think of T'Chaka in that new book, and that's a younger suited version. I suppose it also would depend how far we go with it, because big characters like Batman have a prodigious number of iterations and story lines.

Off the top of my head SW1471 but can't think of any others
I have this one!!
from the GOATED ninjago season
I feel like we need a lore guy for Ninjago stuff the same way we have GSR for Bionicle occurrences, because I know nothing about this guy except what I’m reading in the comments and it sounds wild
Spoilers for Season 8 of the show!
Basically, this guy was the head guard of the royal family. The ninja are invited into the palace by the royal family on behalf of Harumi, the adopted daughter of the emperor and empress. The ninja suspected him of targetting the Oni mask that the royals had in their collection.
The Sons of Garmadon - a biker gang whorshipping the deceased Lord Garmadon - attack the palace to get said mask. None other than Hutchkins helps them escape wth Harumi. It turns out he really was just doing his duty. He then dies as the palace explodes from the attack.
Later it turns out Harumi was secretly the mastermind behind the Sons of Garmadon. She was using everyone around her to get close to the ninja whilst her Sons of Garmadon followers did the dirty work. She secretly despises the ninja - Lloyd especially - because they unleashed the Great Devourer. The Devourer's rampage cost her her parents as a young girl. Since Garmadon defeated the snake she considers him (when he was evil) the true hero. Hence why she wants to resurrect the evil side of him. This is done at the former royal palace. She secretly despised her adoptive parents as well and Hutchkins was just a convenient pawn to her.
Tl;dr:
This guy was a red herring for the true antagonist of S8

When did the Imperial propaganda machine take hold on Brickset?
To get back to Ninjago, it strikes me that Hutchins and Harumi, whose full on princess variant was exclusive to the same set, kind of started a trend in Ninjago. We got at least three of these big fortress/temple sets that came with two characters who, in the TV series, were inserted into larger factions. Hutchins and Harumi were affiliated with the Ninjago royal family; 70678 had Akita and Vex, members of the Formling tribe; and 71722 had the Skull Sorcerer and Vania, both representatives of the Sky Folk of Shintaro.
what's with the eye patch was he a pirate or something
Just looking at him with no knowledge of his lore, it looks like Odin cosplaying as Loki.
Finally a minifigure I have. The BG on the torso means bodyguard, and he foreshadowed the trauma dump Lloyd got by the end of the season. SOG is also my favorite Ninjago season, so I’m glad to have my two favorite Ninjago designs from it.
@pumpkinwashingmachine he’s a bodyguard. Probably lost an eye defending the palace.

Or during a terrible parade accident.

Or, as I said earlier, the other way around.
