Advent Calendar Reviews

Posted by ,

It is the 30th of November so that can only mean we are almost ready to start cracking open our LEGO Advent Calendars! Every year we try to bring you daily reviews of the Advent Calendar gifts and that tradition will continue.

However, this year we will be structuring things a little differently, with LostInTranslation bringing you reviews of the Friends Advent Calendar each day and me providing reviews of the City and Star Wars calendars. We are hoping to consistently publish them at about the same time every day so you can avoid spoilers if you wish:

City - 10:00am

Friends - 1:00pm

Star Wars - 6:00pm

If you would rather not see the reviews at all, you can uncheck 'Advent Countdown' in your news preferences.

Prepare for a busy month...

By in Australia,

I haven't bought an advent calendar in years, but I decided to finally cave in and buy the City one, this year. I'm looking forward to it.

By in United States,

After watching the Star Wars 7 teaser trailer, I couldn't help myself and I cracked open my Star Wars advent calendar. Only did the first 10, but it was hard to stop.

I wont get to use my advent calendar until about the 18th or 19th this year. I already know whats in them , but I look forward to the reviews to see what people are going to do with the pieces.

It seems like the little versions of things would make a great addition to the Grand Emporium. Instead of the toys, sort of a rotational/seasonal thing.

Sold out everywhere :( I waited too late this year.

I like this trend of one each daily instead of one Friends and one alternating. Are these not meant to be started until December 1?? Advent did start today.

I like using these to supplement the winter village stuff. Year by year, the population grows!

@Legomaniac I did the same thing , ended up getting my nephews ones from Germany as the costs were cheaper with shipping than anyone wanted from the states.

Missed out on calendars. Left it until the 29th, so completely lost this year's. After having one for the last two Christmas's, it's a shame. :-(

Same here - Left it a little late and now sold out everywhere (though have £20 towards other Lego so all not lost really) - Strange though as last years and years before were still available even into the following year.

By in Canada,

Thanks for this, I did not know you could uncheck anything from the news feed. We can go back to having spoiler free advent calenders and still enjoy Bricksets usual articles :-D
