It was only a matter of time before the press release for the much anticipated 10246 Detective's Office arrived and here it is! Unfortunately Huw is away on holiday at the moment so the images will not be added to the database for a couple of weeks. You can however view them on the Brickset Flickr photostream.

I'll try to get this at the first opportunity! It looks great, especially the pool hall!

By in Poland,

Link doesn't work. At least for me.

By in Netherlands,

^ Me too. I get a Yahoo login screen when I try to go to the Brickset Flickr photostream. On the plus side: while searching for the press release online I found the designer video. Of course it's designed by Jamie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpshhxplgAU . I'm afraid this is going to be my first modular. I need to learn not to watch designer videos...

By in Singapore,

looks AWESOME I really can add it to my LEGO city

By in United Kingdom,

^Thanks for that link, the story line explains almost all of the gripes people were having with the early photos. Is this the most child-play-friendly modular yet?
I suppose you could say the purity of the set suffers a little, but I really liked it before and now I know the set's premise I love it!

And yeah, of course it's Jamie's!

nice set...love the use of Unikitty's tail...

By in Netherlands,

Designer vid is up on You Tube. It is a Jamie design!

By in United States,

So excited for this one. I liked it before seeing g the video but now I LOVE it. Hurry up January I need this set

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Why is the designer video on the Brick Show channel and nowhere else? I don't like this.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

imo best modular building so far!

and compared to the Green Grocer and Cafe Corner the first two modulars are now a little bit boring :D

By in United States,

CapnRex101, if you take out the "s" from the https link to the Brickset Flickr account for more pictures, people shouldn't run into the having to log in with Yahoo problem. :)

By in Australia,

Gonna add another storey for the Speakeasy!

Wierdly, its not on Lego's official YT channel...yet.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Can't wait for this to be available. Will probably get it, but I have little money to do so, what with next year's City and Creator. Though I would like my first Modular Building soon...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Damn! At first i thought i might pass on this one (like with the town hall) but seeing the detailed pictures have just turned it into a must buy!!

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Very much excited about this set. Day one purchase :D

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This is superb. Not only does it look great and has a really good story baked in (ahem !), but it's a really neat way to circumvent the Lego no alcohol rules and enable people to create an authentic bar with very minor changes.

Berard is a genius !

By in United States,

What a great set! very excited.

By in United States,

Are those... Hero factory fists on the roof of the pool building? Awesome...

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Plymp: Many thanks for the video link. It was worth it just to hear the joke about Prohibition-era LEGO. :P

By in Germany,

@Professor: the Shield Helicarrier model will be released on 1st March, setnumber 76042 and will cost $349,99

Who took the cookies?
I love the iconic "painting hideaway" in the office room. It's brilliant that it actually swings away. I love the "POOL" sign using the red donuts (RED donuts!!!), and overall, it looks very well put together and perfectly realized. I like the CMF trophy, and the table fan is so genius but so incredibly simple. Darn you, LEGO! Why do you make me want yet another modular? And the subtle brilliance of roatating the snowshoe fan blades...I'm breaking... How did this become an even better combo building than the Pet Shop?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really liked the set when the pictures were first circulated, but Jamie's design story really takes it to another level.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I saw the video. I just noticed the return of the CMF S10 paint roller in black for the lights above Al's. But what are the fin-shaped pieces over the constraction fists on the office rooftop? I'm positively blown away by the "cookie-smuggling" hideaways. So much playability for such a simple premise- but indeed a very difficult case for detective Ace Brickman. This set may be my new favorite. Jaime Berard is amazing for surpassing the Restaurant.

By in United States,

Everyone wondering about PS and TH...Even the release statement states just the two most recent. I wouldn't hold my breath on a lot of the past modulars. I think they like to keep the most recent 3 active at any time. The others will slowly disappear (or quickly being holiday season).

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

looks nice defiantly my next modular better than I expected.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

now all we need is a dolphinarium (yes a place that keeps dolphins) even though I'm against dolphins in captivity (maybe that can be a hidden message in the building) I wonder if Jamie likes them or he has a secret phobia of dolphins that's why that set hasn't been made or they would get complaints from the environmentalist community

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love that story behind it. Is there some LEGO canon that I don't know about that has been going on sine 2007 with the release of the Cafe Corner? Pohibition of Sweets! That's fantastic!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Love it, can't wait to pick this one up.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This will be the one: the first of the modular series that I finally commit to purchasing...unless I surrender myself to buying the Parisian Restaurant during the current US Black Friday/Cyber Monday Lego Shop deal.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Awesome use of Unikitty tail and Hero Factory hands.
The poles are build with new small baljoints.
Finally, scissors and flat 2x2 L Tiles.
Real mirrors, not some aluminium foil sticker.
Printed dart-board.
And... Highlanders.

By in Canada,

This set caused me to finally break my embargo on Modular sets, and I got the Pet Shop just yesterday in preparation for the Detective's Office. I think those two together are gonna be a real sweet setup.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I saw this built up in Leeds Lego store on Saturday (alongside the UCS Slave 1 - which, quite honestly, dwarfed the Detective's Office). The internal details are simply brilliant and I love the whole noir detective theme of it. I have to admit I am a bit baffled by the need for the large gap at the top of the internal wall of the pool room, but I guess it'll become readily apparent when it's been built up. I got my first modular with the Parisian Restaurant but now I realize I can't really go backwards to buy any of the older ones when the new ones are looking so brilliant.

By in United States,

My city has a pub called the Highlander. Maybe I'll pretend they are the same...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Russeltier: Thanks for that bit of info. Where did you find this? The Helicarrier was an Ideas set and would not be in the 760//'s. I can see that price tag being correct though! *Low whistle* It's a large one, all the same - $350! That's about £275!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It's got to be one or two of these together with the Citizen Brick Center for the Performing Arts (strip club)...

Expensive

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Love the modular theme !!!

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

awesome there's sooooooooo many new things

Gravatar
By in United States,

I can just see some people using those grey unikitty tails to make a Goth Kitty. Although I wouldn't like it, it is inevitable.

Gravatar
By in United States,

If you watch the video and wait until the end you will have 12 mini movies to choose from - one is a preview of THE NEW LEGO MOVIE - The Bizarro League vs. The Justice League - OUT FEBRUARY 2015!

Gravatar
By in United States,

A little too overpriced.
