I think the initial selection of Creator sets announced earlier today looks brilliant and a few more sets have been added to LEGO.com since.

By in United States,

When are these coming out? My daughter would love the handbag. Love the reference to the retro roller skate!

By in Sweden,

This direction worries me.

By in United Kingdom,

I like the floral art, it looks like you could do a lot with it beyond the three they suggest.

The piano is good to keep the other designs in theme.

Would have been nice to have a nod to Devil Wears Prada with the handbag, but then that is a saving for my wallet

By in United States,

Very cool! Some of these designs feel like they have some Dots DNA (both in terms of their customizability, their colors, and their subject matter). That's not a bad thing! Just because something feels less traditionally "masculine" doesn't mean it can't be an interesting subject to build, and eschewing that for the illusion of "gender neutrality" (which to many people means "everything except icky pinks and purples") makes for a more boring theme.

All three of these sets have the sort of great alternate builds and clever designs you'd expect from the Creator 3-in-1 theme. I love the charm on the handbag clearly being based on last year's Roller Skate!

By in United States,

Meh for me, but it looks like it's for the dots market and I hope they enjoy it. Prices are a little steep either way.

By in United States,

That piano is marvelous! Another strong Creator lineup here.

By in United Kingdom,

I like the piano but think I could live without the others!

By in Germany,

I guess not many 8-9 year old girls hang around Brickset to comment, but to their parents maybe, are these kitsch, cliche sets really popular among them? I am genuinely interested, because I woudn't think twice if I had to pick between one of these or one of the many 3-in-1 animal sets.

By in United Kingdom,

I mean, I think these are lovely, perhaps somewhat straightforward and less elaborate than other 3 in 1 sets, but they seem like fun pretty builds. I love the piano, although I wish it were cheaper, and the bag looks a lot of fun too. I guess it depends on the individual.

I hope those sheet music prints end up on pick-a brick...

I believe those are stickers. :(

The C is over an A, the G is over a B, and it appears to be a non-existent key with a G-sharp.

@CapnRex101, I'll be glad to write the "who failed to proofread this" paragraph to prompt a second printing.

By in United States,

Does that piano sound like a carnival? Does the microphone smell like a beer? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxEPV4kolz0 if you don't get the reference.

I already thought the charms were neat, and now my opinion as gone up.

The piano looks great

Letters above notes are chords to play under the melody, so they’re fine, but I agree the F sharp is a bit too high in the key signature. I haven’t played it but it looks like happy birthday in G, thus why it should be F.

Gravatar
By in United States,

there sure are quite a lot of child-age display models recently. are Ipad kids loosing their sense of imagination and no longer playing with their toys?

Happy Birthday is a tricky one--when it starts on a G, it's in the key of C. I can forgive the F-sharp looking a bit like a G-sharp, but there really should be no sharp at all.

By in Canada,

3 of each please! Lego take all my monies, but leave some for my new purse, ?? ?? ?? ??

By in France,

return of Dots

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is a very odd collection. I echo the thoughts that these are mostly an offshoot of dots. The color of the Piano is just weird. If somebody gave these to me I'd consider them free parts but none of them are calling for me to actually buy them. I'll just spend my $$ on the Creator 3 in 1 Pirate Ship.

By in Poland,

I really hate stuff like this.
Where are THE HOUSES?
Why are people so obsessed with items but lego?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like the direction Creator has been taking as a showcase for the sorts of things it's possible to build. While the sets are less interesting for me, the ideas are highly creative.

Houses are items, too.

Oh I can't wait to hear the argument about how people should just put a real piano on their shelf.

You're right. Good explanation. Another oversight on their graphics design team. It's as if they can't use google anymore since AI was introduced to spot mistakes like this.

Gravatar
By in United States,

How is "Decorative Creator Sets" defined? Simply "Creator Sets that are not minifigure scale and not animals"?

I'm just happy to get a chance to see a rare intersection of Lego and Music Theory!

Or the argument that a real piano is cheaper.

Even if someone GIVES you a piano, that set would still be cheaper than the beer and pizza you'll need to pay your friends to help move it into your home.

By in United Kingdom,

I like the piano kit. I’m quite curious where the visualised music goes when the lid is down.

Cute.

By in Germany,

31390 needs more Bob Ross :-)

Speaking of which, the person responsible for setting the price of the new Star Wars Lambda shuttle, when asked whether they were serious replied
"We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents" ;-)
