Ideas competition winner announced
Posted by Huw,The winner of the LEGO Ideas Rebuilding Outdoor Adventures competition has been announced.
Stubot's delightful Highland Hike model will be turned into a gift with purchase set in due course.
It features a highland cow, thistles and, if you look closely, you might also see a Haggis...

Very cool, love it!
That is adorable and I can't wait for a highland cow and some haggis.
So cute!! I just visited Scotland and the highland cows were adorable :)
I will buy whatever is necessary to get this one.
Zero surprise this won given how popular Highland Cow merchandise of various types is.
Love it. Hoping for a wide range of sets to buy for this GWP.
It's so little!
I’m a big fan of highland cows - there are two highland cow plushies on the sofa with me right now - so I’m all in favour.
A few mods and that's an improved Microfighters Bantha.
4,691 irradiated haggis
It looks so blissful smelling those flowers.
Yip yip!
Thank you for sharing my happy news Huw, Flora the Heilan’ Coo thanks you too!

I love highland cows… but I couldn’t eat a whole one :~P
Congrats to the winner, even though I voted for the Mushroom Picking. Guess TLG just picked the one with most comments.

I would be very surprised if the number of comments didn’t correlate, at least to an extent, with number of fan votes.
Not bad, but I preferred https://beta.ideas.lego.com/challenges/0f1dd4ef-fcc5-4f43-a9ee-af2022f7e52a/entries/e6a4ee0c-3ebb-486f-884f-e1b78903b49a
Would you stop saying 4,691 irradiated haggis. ;-)
It is charming, but isn’t for me.
For obvious reasons, I approve!!
This is a great little set
Love it.

;-)
Ach! I dinna See no Haggis! Meybe a horn thats fellen off. ?
I need it
Cool set! Unfortunate that once again this is a GWP, but considering we now have a new Lego shop that regularly has older GWP for reasonable prices, I might get it at some point.
Hopefully there will be some good cow-related sets to buy when this is available!
In the US, fluffy cows are a lot more dangerous. A 70yo woman was just killed by one, even though she was technically staying a safe distance away.
I like this a lot. No problem if it is a GWP, I still have plenty of sets on my list. One nitpick though: highland cow still have a muzzle - this one seems to have the nostrils just next to the forehead - maybe just one more rounded 1x2 plate (or tile) for the muzzle. I hardly ever follow these contests - for the same reason I do not follow Ideas anymore; but still, congrats to the winner!
Still eagerly awaiting The X-Files.
I wonder if it’s compatible with the characters from 75228 and 75265
This is really cute ! I hope the final GWP-Design stays like this

Don't worry, I won't tell you the odds.

Perhaps that's due to the orange hue of their outer coat.......
I am looking at some right now but, given they're across the river from me, I think I'm safe...
Don't know why you would buy this one, when it is very easy to build it by yourrself by simply looking at the picture....or am I being to cynical again?
Where exactly is the haggis?
Finally some appreciation for the wild Haggis. A rare creature indeed!
A lovely little set. It really moo-ves me.
Love the thistles growing in the spread out olive green cow pats.
Very cute little vignette set. I like it!
Hoping that the 3rd 'Restaurants of the World' GWP appears soon. 1 to 2 was 6 weeks. 2 to 3 has been longer than that so far and there are several June 1st sets I want!
For some reason when I saw that image, the first thing that came to mind was the scene 'The Lonely Goatherd' from "The Sound of Music"
Now this is calming.
This is what I call 'proper' Lego - creativity, imagination, not 1000's of pieces, no licensing, unusual subject material - pretty much perfect in all respects...

Pretty much perfect.....except the limited availability :-(
Looking at the backlog list, honestly, I'm more interested in these competition winners/GWPs than the full Ideas sets.

I wish I'd gotten those two. But then, the only Microfighter that I neither own nor want is 75295.

That isn't the final model, just the submission, so you may or may notbe able to.

That was a bad pun, but I'll let it go. After all, to err is human, to forgive bovine.
I don't get the Haggis reference . . . what am I missing?

Same. I want at least 3 of the competition winners (potentially 5) and I want none of the full Ideas sets.
Not something I am going to go out of my way to get. This does nothing for me. If I happen to get one, fine. But I'm not a fan. I didn't really like any of the summited set in this challenge. And that's ok. To each their own.

You're in The US so you won't get the Haggis in this set (as it is currently banned). However, there is a current campaign here (Scotland) to remove the ban so you may get one in your GWP by the time of release......
What a bunch of bull!! ;)

A lot of people miss them, they are hard to see and catch.
Very cute.

Haggis played bass with The Cult in the mid-80s.

And after that, he went on to become the mayor of Metro City in the early nineties.

And a decade later won two Oscars!

He wasn't referring to Highland cattle. Those aren't native to the U.S.

Nope. Bison bison, one ton of angry that can hit 35mph from a dead standstill, and knock another bison across the road. I just read about a 70yo woman who got killed by one, I think in Custer State Park. She was hiking with her partner, and they rounded a bend and saw bison on the trail. Waited a safe distance away for them to leave, and then kept hiking in the same direction. Encountered the bison again, so waited again. Did this a few times, and eventually one of them charged and tossed her in the air. Comments on the article pointed out that, while they were staying the recommended safe distance away, they were exhibiting predator behavior by “stalking” the herd.

Thanks for the info. I assumed they may have been imported like many non-native species across the pond (humans included...)
