LEGO Marvel 76356 Venom Bust announced, including a new Venom minifigure

Posted by ,

LEGO Marvel launched two busts last year, to a fairly lukewarm reception. I was not necessarily looking forward to another, but 76356 Venom Bust is unexpectedly appealing!

Firstly, I think this 413-piece model looks superb, capturing Venom's ferocious visage with plenty of detail, considering the scale. In addition, a unique Venom minifigure is included, inspired by Tom Hardy's portrayal of the character from the recent films, like the bust itself.

This set will be released on July 1st, costing £44.99, $49.99 or €49.99. More images are available below...

Wow!

This looks 100 times better than the previous Marvel busts. I'm glad it is movie based. I wish the minifigure had leg printing though.

It would be a nice addition to also have Tom Hardy's Eddie, but even without it this set looks amazing

I’ll still never understand how anyone can like the Sony venom films, but hey, it’s a nice looking bust of venom regardless. It’s certainly a lot cleaner than the head they did a couple years ago.

The Venom movies are literally the only good Spiderman villain movies Sony has made.

The first bust set that looks good. The best Lego brick built likeness of Venom so far.

The first venom is my favorite marvel movie and it's not even close

By far the best of the Marvel (or Star Wars) busts... but like I said on the Yoda review that price tag is unbelievable for how small the finished product is.

I at least think the detail and minifigure make this one somewhat worth it. The only Venom I really enjoyed was in Spider-Man 3 (and the first LEGO Marvel game), but I might pick this up on a small discount.

I’m usually a huge proponent of Marvel and DC sets being comics-inspired over movies and/or TV but this works for the bust collection and it’s nice to see a Venom fig that isn’t the one we’ve already gotten a million times

Compared to the other SSU film, anything is good

$50? So I might be able to pick up a couple extras of the minifig for a reasonable price?

I have come to like Let There Be Carnage because it's at least aware of how ridiculous it is. It's big, dumb, loud, and stupid, it's the 90s come to life, but kind of in the best way possible because it's not trying to be smart or philosophical, nor is it forgetting the movie's plot or trying to promise things it can't deliver on, it knows you're only watching it for screaming and carnage and insanity, and it accepts that. The first movie is blah, the third movie is horrendous, but the second one, it's still dumb, but it grows on you. I never saw them in the theater, Sony never got a cent out of me until I bought the 3 movie collection because I have a problem, but Let There Be Carnage is without a doubt the best of the Sony Spider-Manless villain movies.

By in Canada,

Not enough teeth and the minifig should have printed legs, but for $50 they could have done a lot worse.

Now we need a Carnage bust! I love the Venom minifigure.

By in United Kingdom,

I have yet to get around to the sequels (for various boring health reasons watching things is something of a trial involving advance planning and recovery time, and thus I am usually a mumbledy number of years behind) but the first Venom film is an experience of unadulterated euphoric glee as far as I’m concerned. It is so stupid and so wonderful and I love it.

(It’s an odd film to be so extremely marmitey, and not one I would have predicted in a million years, but one can’t argue with the clear and obvious divide in audience response. Taste is, as always, mightily subjective.)

I wish this had come with Eddie, too, but I suppose you could always repurpose the Eddie from the wotsit set last year. (one quick database search later…) 76324 Os-Corp! Or make your own.

I particularly like the sculpting around Venom’s eyes. Eyes have been a problem elsekit, so credit where it’s due, these eyes work.

By in Singapore,

Gosh why no leg printing on the minifig… another missed opportunity. It’s a one fig set, so I expect nothing less. Been wanting to get one with full body details. I guess I’ll just wait. Lol!

I hope we get The Sony Carnage one next with a Minifig.

Not normally a fan of the busts, but this is the best one they've done so far. Just a shame they blew it with the minifig by cheaping out and not giving it leg printing.

I'm still waiting for them to make of these of a female character so I can comment "it's rude to stare at a woman's bust"

You’ll be thrilled with the instructions and the box.

By in Japan,

Easily one of the best-ever Marvel busts (along with 76326 ) and one of my all-time fav characters too (since the Todd McFarlane days). One gripe though: not enough teeth XD But overall a very decent result in what could’ve been a miss like some other busts. WE ARE HAPPY!

Oh good, finally, some Venom-material. Dear TLG, I can only hope we will also at long last get a Hulkbuster, maybe a Landspeeder, possibly a Batmobile if you can spare the time. I also cannot wait to get this exclusive minifigure in bulk in the 2027 Advent Calendar and as a freebie with every second LEGO Marvel magazine in the interim.

Yes, okay, fine. It looks neat, but there's a billion other heroes and villains to shine the spotlight on. Where's the Juggernaut? Where is Stiltman? Where's Batroc the Leaper? Where is Lady Stiltman? Where is Thanos' even creepier kid-brother, Starf- no, you know what, you can keep Starfox. But give us Frog-Man already, you cowards.

NO, NOT "VENOMISED FROG-MAN". BE BETTER.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I know those hose pieces are meant to represent the veiny, tendrily look Venom has but the way they’re draped with the way they’re almost floating off him in places just look like he’s dressed in a really naff scarf

I need him in a battlepack with Medusa and Bentley "I legally changed my name to 'The Wingless Wizard'" Wittman. If that battlepack doesn't also feature Sand-Man with his short-lived "green panties as a facemask"-look, honestly, what is even the point anymore?

Venom without the Venom logo just feels incomplete. That is a big miss for these movies.

That stickers on shoulders ruin whole "18+ exclusive display set" IMHO.

Considering price don't forget that those busts are very small

Eddie's ex wore the Venom symbiote at least once in the films, so you don't know.
