LEGO 11374 Arcade Pinball Machine revealed, with new Classic Space minifigures!
Posted by CapnRex101,The next LEGO Icons set has been revealed as a working Classic Space-themed pinball machine! The press release follows:
11374 Arcade Pinball Machine
2,274 pieces, rated 18+
$229.99 / £189.99 / €209.99
Available at LEGO.com from 1st July
The LEGO Group today reveals the first-ever working LEGO pinball machine, bringing retro arcade gaming to life in a fully functional brick-built model. The set combines authentic pinball mechanics with a playful space theme and display appeal.
With 2,274 pieces, builders can construct a tabletop pinball machine featuring a spring-powered launcher, dual flippers, spinning bumpers and an up-and-over ramp bridge. Players can launch the ball and aim for targets across the playfield, including a mission to reunite an astronaut with a space-roving baby by hitting a key asteroid target. The integrated progress bar can be reset, allowing for repeat play.
Blending creativity, engineering and nostalgia, the set offers a uniquely interactive building experience. It also includes two Minifigures: a classic space astronaut and a baby astronaut, affectionately known by fans as the ‘space baby’.
Designed for adults and fans of classic games, and inspired by vintage arcade cabinets, the finished model doubles as a display piece for the home, office or games space.
It is nice to see a new colour for the Classic Space astronaut and baby, though I was expecting more overt Classic Space theming across the entire model. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see how it works.
What do you think of the Arcade Pinball Machine? Let us know in the comments and via our poll.

Seems underdeveloped with a relative lack of features. Interesting concept, I guess. Mods and similar mocs could be interesting. Hopefully the spaceman ends up on B&P.
I think this set will be placed next to my vending machine. I love that it’s not just for display. It actually works. Hahaha!
Wow such a missed opportunity to play into the classic Lego space theme or to have references to later themes like Mars Mission, Space Police, etc. Instead this is just so generic and bland
I can't be the only one to have immediately thought of Windows XP just now
I think LEGO has forgotten that there is more to SPACE than just the space man.
I think this is pretty cool. I would love to see other themed pinball machines outside of classic space as well. I enjoy pinball, and even have a machine at my house, so I think I will end up picking this one up at some point.
I think I'll just order the light blue Space baby and minifigure helmet from PaB and leave this out.
Kind of useless to have a Pinball machine without light & sound and working scoring. At least the Football Table could be actually played with, albeit being really impractical.
I think we have enough overpriced gimmicks at this point that end up taking way too much space in our homes.
As noted, it seems odd this didn’t lean into the various space sub themes in the Lego portfolio - definitely expected it to have quite a few references and it…just doesn’t.
yes!!! light blue Helmets!!
For those wondering what the theming is, classic space has to rescue the baby from the clutches of Blacktron II
Fun fact: the Classic Space astronaut torso in Bright Light Blue/Light Royal Blue has appeared before in the 2025 LEGO Store Build-a-Minifigure parts: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=973p90new2c15&in=S
The air tank has appeared in Bright Light Blue in sets 21359, 76300, and L0002270.
The reissued Classic Space helmet mold is new in Bright Light Blue in this set.
Another fun fact: The Classic Space torso has also appeared in Dark Blue in the 2024 Build-a-Minifigure parts: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=973p90new2c11&colorID=63&in=A
The helmet and air tanks also appeared in Dark Blue in set 71499, meaning a Dark Blue Classic Space astronaut can be fully recreated via Bricklink.
Although if the Bright Light Blue astronaut is any indication, we may see the Dark Blue astronaut officially appear in a future set...
Edit: The Classic Space torso also appeared in Light Bluish Grey in 71018-13, although the air tanks & helmet only exist on "old" Light Grey.
just sell the minifigs kk bye
This model looks nice but the ramp and “lights” are just begging to be in trans-neon green instead of trans-bright green. It also seems a little expensive for what it is. I do like that there’s an actual mission to complete, as missions are a key element in real pinball tables for anyone that has played one.
Cool idea, but I am mostly curious how well it works. I can't help but feel they couldn't decide between a pure display set and a proper playset, resulting in kinda the worst of both worlds. I do hope the reviews are gonna prove me wrong...
And this would have been THE opportunity to use the Smart Brick in a creative way!
That's a pair of very expensive minifigures...
Skeletor colors.
Does this really work in that its actually playable without it breaking? Or when they say 'fully functional' they mean that the bits you'd expect to move do so?
As a display piece, its a nice idea... but as a plaything, when you can get actual fully working and similar sized pinball game for a fraction of the price?
The point is they seem to be pushing the playability of this, and one the surface, those features seem marginal at best for what they expect you to pay.
Come on Lego, put your energy into something else. LEGO = “Play well” sets should be about building creative things like spaceships, space stations or space rovers. Better yet, bring back the Classic Space theme and focus on creating new sets around that instead of making brickbuild pinball machines for display.
This looks like fun and will likely get it. Will look good next to Pac-Man.
It does look like it needs a little bit of extra decorative elements added. Like mini-builds of classic space sets would have really brought this to the next level. But without seeing how much space the ball needs, it is hard to be specific yet. Like potentially making the spinners taller to have a spaceship on top. Or referencing the Futron Monorail on the ramps.
For the sake of reference, a similar-sized working pinball machine with metal balls, lights, sounds, electronic scoring for at least 2 players, etc., can be had on Amazon for $50-70 USD (the higher end being licensed IP). The LEGO set pulls at the heartstrings of us hyperfans with the newly completed astronaut color variation and baby, and of course there's the build experience that for most people is a 1-time thing, but afterwards I feel the fun of play with this may be a bit too limited, as mandated by the limitations of the medium. At least this arcade game can truly be played with though, unlike the Pac-Man arcade.
IMO a hands-on play experience that was genuinely good from LEGO was the 40596 Magic Maze GWP, an authentic brick-built set that supplied a great variety of interactions with real challenge in spite of its relatively tiny part count.
My reactions:
A) Expensive new Spacebaby color.
B) A wasted chance for at minimum float a trial balloon for lights in a set...
C) What? No Smart Brick (tm)...
I cannot believe Lego have issued this with so many sodding stickers!!!
If it wasn't for that I'd be buying it. Now they can go to sticker hell
Kinda getting burned out on collecting the colours of astronaut when they keep releasing them piecemeal or in very expensive sets I don't want. Hopefully it comes to PAB, I only need the helmet.
So very disappointed that this isn’t Classic Space! Apart from the figures, this doesn’t fit the theme at all. Had it been inspired by the ‘70s CS era, I would have happily forked out the price LEGO is asking or even more. As it is, I won’t get it and will wait for the minifigure and space baby to be on OPAB instead. Those are all I’m interested in now.
@theJANG , You wanted to know if the side panel decorations were stickers. They are. You can see the edges in the high res pics.
This is the table football set all over again: a model that’s very expensive, parts-intensive and doesn’t come close to the functionality of the real thing. That Ian Malcolm quote is evergreen.
Ever since I was a young boy
I've played the silver ball
From Soho down to Brighton
I must have played 'em all
But I ain't seen nothing like him
In any amusement hall
That deaf, dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pinball
He stands like a statue
Becomes part of the machine
Feeling all the bumpers
Always playing clean
He plays by intuition
The digit counters fall
That deaf, dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pinball
He's a pinball wizard
There has got to be a twist
A pinball wizard's
Got such a supple wrist
How do you think he does it? I don't know
What makes him so good?
Ain't got no distractions
Can't hear no buzzers and bells
Don't see no lights a-flashin'
Plays by sense of smell
Always gets a replay
Never seen him fall
That deaf, dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pinball
I thought I was
The Bally table king
But I just handed
My pinball crown to him
Even on my favourite table
He can beat my best
His disciples lead him in
And he just does the rest
Never seen him crumble
Never seen him fall
That deaf, dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pinball

At least in this case, the stickers are somewhat realistic. Most full-size pinball tables have large decals on the side for artwork.
The helmet better come to brick and pieces. But also feel like id have been a great place to bring back classic blue or black.
I guess the only thing 18+ about this set is the price and the fact that you have to be able to perfectly align and center 4 large stickers on 4 separate parts, twice! Wasted chance to at least bring back transparent neon green or a Classic Space faction...

Those torsos available thru BAM both had yellow hands, as shown in the linked images. It wasn't difficult to Bricklink dark blue hands...not sure about bright light blue.
I like the colour scheme, but I think it could have done with light bricks and smart brick sounds, as well as some ability to customise it into different themes without raising the price too much.
I like it included movement, but I think sounds and lights are needed too.

You forgot the bright green Classic Spaceman, for which only the printed torso is still missing.
The parts for the dark blue, dark turquoise and warm gold Spacemen as well as the light blue (except for the helmet) have all been available on PaB recently. Don't know if they still are though.
Nope, not for me...
You could have had greatness, but you still opt to use the coward's Trans Green. The disgust that courses through me, you could bottle it.
I love it!
This is cool, but beyond my price range. I do plan on picking up those printed (or are they stickers?) 6x6 tiles to serve as the background to the 41128 Space Ride in my Amusement park.
OK as a display set but the 'working' looks highly suspect!
Disapointed they didn't lean into the classic space colors . . . I think it would have popped more and also hit harder on the nostalgia front.

At my last job, they got one XP computer, and my boss liked to play the pinball game all the time when he wasn't working. I ended up going in on a weekend, and after I clocked out, decided to give it a try. I beat the high score with the first one-million-plus point total.
However, I recently saw a video that claimed various games were designed to help teach people how to use different aspects of the Windows environment. Solitaire was to get them used to using a mouse, Minesweeper was to teach them how to right-click...and I have to wonder what lesson the pinball game was intended to teach. Or maybe it wasn't, which would explain why it got dropped so quickly.
And once again, the most expensive will be in Switzerland.
239,00 CHF this is a bad joke
Bunny ears no longer on the light blue spacemen.
For a second I thought this set was inspired by the old Space Pinball game that came on Windows PCs. I only want the helmet and the baby, will wait for PAB.
There is a video on the Lego website that shows how this pinbal works. And it has a cool feature involving the spaceman. I concour that the branding should be of a chosen classic space themes, this choice is a bit odd. But the functionality and relative ease of adding own features makes it a really cool set. Can't wait for a review!

They had all these in the recent City sub-theme. Did you buy those?
The side panels would be great for use in a classic space command centre MOC.
Unless the astronaut's Air Tank has sprung a leak which has ignited, the side panels of the pinball machine appear to be implying that the air tank is actually canonically an astronaut propulsion unit / astronaut manoeuvring unit.
at the moment we have a 53% for NO + 20% for MAYBE... a real triumph!
They’re trying out fun ideas that haven’t previously been done. And then they’re adding in a CS hook to give them a broader appeal. The same thing happened with the minifig dispenser. There’s nothing wrong with this approach. But as a CS fan, it’s not enough to get me to part with my money. They can keep their not-even-a-real-colour spaceman and baby and I’ll spend the two hundred notes on something useful. In a few years there will be a lot of middle-aged people trying to flog acres of decent-yet-forgettable sets like this that they bought without thinking too much. Will you be one of them?
Reading the comments from above; has anyone at Lego (or elsewhere) ever explained why they removed the trans neon green and trans neon orange colours? Not a big need for me but just curious as these are pretty much key for Blacktron II and Ice Planet 2002 (that was 24 years ago!! - the year not the theme)
This set is 'Space' so, by association, I should want it but... There is only one thing to do on this table (sending it through the green corridor - once you manage to do that using either flipper, you're pretty much done). There are other 'bumpers' elsewhere but since there is no lights and motors, they don't do anything. As mentioned a few times above, there should be references of pretty much all previous space themes (unless they plan on doing a series of those). A good idea not very well implemented - just like the foosball table unfortunately. Let's wait for the review, this might be a rare case of being positively surprised.
Just remember these figs WILL appear on P @B online later
guess they have so little faith in the smart bricks that they decided to not use it on the most obvious set by fear it would drive customers away
Saw the photo and wanted it.
Saw the price and balked. It’s almost twice as expensive as I thought it would be!
It's cool that it works and is playable, would be an interesting build
But don't like the overall look of it.
If it had been Classic Space themed, maybe, but as is? Naw.
This looks funky.
Almost really cool, but comes out looking pretty flat. Those also look like a ton of stickers on the side, which is a definite no from me for that price.

Bright Light Blue hands were easy to find for me, as they've appeared in 19 sets.
I wasn't aware of the Bright Green astronaut being almost complete, thanks for the info!
And thanks for pointing out the parts available on Pick-a-Brick. I'll definitely look into that in the future.
And for anyone reading this who wasn't aware of it, I also forgot the Dark Purple astronaut. It appeared in a rare 2023 set given to LEGO employees (DS2023-1), but the parts necessary to recreate it appeared in 71032-11, 80111, 40608, and 60361.
Also, the new version of the Classic Space helmet appeared in Green in 80054, if you want to buy it for the green astronauts from the Ideas Exo-Suit (21109)."

I've hazarded a guess before that it was driven by the switch to the new format polymer (MABS) and that there was an issue with making the neon colours in it.
If enough space and cash...
So, now we know what the Gift With Purchase model kit spaceman will be released with.
I was quite looking forward to that, but I'm bug... ermm blamed if I'm going to buy a £190 pinball machine to get it.

Oh, so the air tanks are actually jetpacks now, are they?
(In reference to the flames on the stickers on the sides of the machine).

For the record, Lego's been interpreting the air tanks as jetpacks at least as far back as 2013, when they worked as such in the Lego City Undercover.

It's weird because this seems to only happen with Icons sets. With every other theme, everyone seems to understand the idea that people who want 60480 specifically want to build a backhoe from Lego-type parts and would not be equally satisfied with a $15 toy backhoe from the next aisle over. But put the Icons logo on the box and suddenly I'm supposed to think it's a big issue that 10358 costs more than Studio Series Soundwave.

In a world of ever-rising prices (for everything), I appreciate Jang's "opportunity cost" comparisons.
(I've just about been completely priced out of the LEGO side of the brick-building hobby.)

When the difference in price is this stark, it is something to seriously think about. If you just want a pinball machine to display, why not look at other options? I love Lego, but is it worth the extra $160-$180 for roughly the same end product? Yes, you do have the building experience, but as the person above said, it’s usually a one-time experience. Heck, with $230, you can get a virtual pinball table that can be configured to play digital versions of actual pinball tables, many of which are licensed. Addams Family anyone?

Creator and sometimes Ideas get it a bit, too.
It’s odd to me that I’ve heard people calling this a set for display when it’s decidedly the opposite. It definitely has some cool inner functions and more play features than the average playset. I think the community has become too jaded about statues and buildable figures that we sometimes misrepresent an obvious playable toy. This isn’t a Shrek statue designed to sit on your shelf. It’s more similar to the Ideas Marble Maze or Foosball Table, both of which were interesting, new ideas for the medium (even if the foosball set wasn’t well implemented or received).
At the end of the day, what makes this a display set and a technic car, a modular, or an X-wing a toy? This is something you build and can play with, and even comes with characters and a built-in story.

My POV is that a lot of LEGO fans look at nothing but LEGO and sometimes arrive at the conclusion that "this LEGO set has good value/features" without any actual context. I like to offer the option of better-informed decisions. My level of enjoyment & satisfaction of building, collecting, displaying, and interacting with things has increased massively (while spending has plummeted) the more I've branched out. I've seen the same thing happen to many of us who've been introduced to other similar hobbies or brands, and it's the purest joy. Not replacing LEGO fandom, but augmenting it & giving more perspective to purchase decisions.

I will always appreciate your views and suggestions JANG. Lego has become crazy, crazy expensive and you've shared a lot of non-lego products I can purchase for my kids instead. Thank you sir.
I just re-checked, and at least for LEGO PaB in Germany, the only two Classic Spaceman colours where all the pieces are currently available to order are warm gold and dark turquoise.
The helmet is available in seven colours, the airtanks in nine colours and the legs in 37 colours.

71501 Game Island Tower, not sure if I can post links to images of cancelled sets here but if you google that the stock photos should come up. It was priced at $190 and had a unique Castillo figure and neon yellow roller coaster tracks among other things.
We don't have an exact reason on why it was cancelled (along with 2-3 other smaller sets from that wave) besides Dreamzzz suffering from poorer sales in its last year. I think part of it has to do with location-based Dreamzzz sets not selling: Sandman's Tower was one that lasted through multiple discounts and that was a little over 1/3 the price of Game Island Tower and the Treehouse which was at a similar price sold pretty poorly as well it seems... so Towers themselves may not be as appealing as a widespread playset perhaps?
Personally I thought Game Island Tower looked pretty dope and I may have picked it up after a discount; I really liked the direction Dreamzzz was going in year 3.

For the record, Lego's been interpreting the air tanks as jetpacks at least as far back as 2013, when they worked as such in the Lego City Undercover."
The part’s official LEGO name is Mini Oxygen Bottles. If you’re an astronaut with a gout of flame extending from your oxygen/air tanks, you’re in deep, deep trouble.

It _is_ Classic Space-themed. It has a Spaceman, a Spacebaby, and it says "SPACE". The official name for what we call Classic Space is...Space. Just Space. Classic was our addition.

Not a big need for me but just curious as these are pretty much key for Blacktron II and Ice Planet 2002 (that was 24 years ago!! - the year not the theme) "
I've hazarded a guess before that it was driven by the switch to the new format polymer (MABS) and that there was an issue with making the neon colours in it. "
There was a lot of redundancy in the color palette. Trans-neon-green was close-ish to trans-bright-green. Trans-orange was close to trans-neon-orange. Trans-fluorescent-blue...I mean trans-medium-blue, was close to trans-light-blue. They have a limit on the number of colors they can produce, so someone decided that the likes of violent-yellow and eye-searing-coral were more preferable than those transparent fluorescent colors.

It costs less than Masterpiece Soundwave, which is closer to being the same size. Not quite there, I don't think, but the closest you're going to find in an actual transforming tape deck Soundwave. I have one...and a Masterpiece Soundblaster. They are magnificent. Still want the LEGO version. Maybe two.

"A fully-functioning left arm and hand would be nice, too."
Yeah, can't help you there. I've never heard of any type of pinball game that's designed in a way you could play. I mean, a PC-based version _could_ be configured such that you could operate both paddles with one hand, but that's about it. Even if the game itself doesn't allow that, I once found a USB controller that had fully mappable controls. You could assign any key you wanted to each of the various buttons, as well as the four directions on the joystick(s), so it didn't matter what sort of janky control system the game devs built into the game itself with no option to adjust it. You could work the game controller however you desired, and it would spit out the letter keys and such that the game was looking for. Again, it's not going to do a lot to help you with a game that uses a ton of controls, but for something simply like pinball, all you'd need is a few controls that you could work with one hand. In this case, I think it had four shoulder buttons, so you could map one paddle to each shoulder button on one side. Or map one to a shoulder button, and the other to a direction on the joystick.
Would have been cool to add some light affects or sound when the ball hits the pieces.
TLG offers a wide variety of sets, so there are some for every tastes, interests. There is too much criticism from people who just have interests in different things.
I like it. I would have preferred with different colors. Maybe because I already have too many black parts from my Batman sets, haha.
Like the typewriter, there is probably interesting mechanisms and more playability than most sets.
Disabled people customising and hacking our own gear to game/generally computer has been a thing for a long time, along with the odd niche product, but the Microsoft Adaptive Controller really made a difference to how accessible the accessibility could be without some fairly comprehensive tech know-how, and while it isn’t cheap they have consistently been selling it below what they probably ought to considering the dev time. Both a nice piece of kit by itself and extremely customisable as far as adding extra doodads goes, which is necessary for the highly individual capabilities of disabled peeps. I’m generally loathe to give Microsoft credit for all that much, but that’s a good thing they’re doing.
I’m not a pinball fan (… they’re so *large*) (although I do like Pinball Wizard, the song) so I have no idea if someone’s managed to wire it in to a pinball machine, but I wouldn’t be surprised, even if that’s likely not all that plug-and-play an experience considering the work it would take.

I just bought a mappable controller because I was picking up a few games (particularly TMNT games) on PC, and so many of them had just the worst control mapping, and zero customizability. Also, I spent a long time hunting around for a game controller that actually felt comfortable in my hands (the PS2-style controller felt so terrible that I almost threw the demo model back onto the shelf). This one had a very ergonomic design for adult-sized hands, you could map the controls, and I think they even built some sort of cooling system into the handles (not that I needed it, but it was a very curious design). I'd also tried the XBox-style controller, and while it wasn't as the-worst-possible-design as the PS2-style one, it still wasn't what I'd call a not-terrible shape.
Of course, none of that is going to make this set operable with one hand. _However_, it does occur to me that I've heard LEGO sets can be modified from their original design. There's got to be a way to rig a second paddle button such that it's located on one side of the cabinet, but operates the paddle on the other side. How exactly that'd work is hard to say, until the instructions get posted. But you know it has to be possible.

Like your choice of colour names. I try to stay away from those colours as well. I got a few bits of violent-yellow in 42145. If I own eye-searing coral, it must come from a GWP. I can’t take credit for violent-yellow. Can’t remember if I heard it here, through my LUG, or from someone outside my area at a show. I know I bought frogs in both colors from OPAB, because frogs (besides, it’s realistic for some poisonous tree frogs). I also know I picked up at least a few parts through clearances Vidiyo. Beyond that, I don’t really know.
I just want the 2 space minifigs, I hope they release them separately.
The pure black table tiles look nasty.
And where is the smart brick when you finally could use one. Where is the cool decoration ? LEGO Friends rollercoasters come with nicer themed settings. This seems rushed
I’ll be buying this and probably redecorating it in proper Classic Space colours (maybe with the newer Light Grey)

They've jumped the shark.
These desk-style pinball machines were super lame when they existed. I certain have no desire to re-live that in Lego form.
All the people saying that the Smart prick would actually make sense here: I'm not really seeing a way to integrate it in a way that would let the ball activate it.

Re: mapping within the software itself, yeah, that’s half the reason World of Warcraft won the accessible game award for umpteen years running (the other half being add-ons). It’s a lot better now! But there’s still a fair few games that don’t do a particularly good job of allowing players to customise their input experience, even though plenty of abled gamers like to do that too.

"For the sake of reference, a similar-sized working pinball machine with metal balls, lights, sounds, electronic scoring for at least 2 players, etc., can be had on Amazon for $50-70 USD (the higher end being licensed IP).
IMO a hands-on play experience that was genuinely good from LEGO was the 40596 Magic Maze GWP, an authentic brick-built set that supplied a great variety of interactions with real challenge in spite of its relatively tiny part count."
Being LEGO, the play area will presumably be easy to modify to change or add features. So there is also the advantage that it is customisable.
