LEGO ONE PIECE special trailer released!

In April, Netflix announced that a LEGO ONE PIECE two-part animated special would be premiering on September 29th. A full teaser trailer has been released today, showing us a bit more of what we can expect.
The minute-long trailer promises a recap of the live-action series so far, told from Usopp's perspective with the usual LEGO style of humor. The live-action cast reprises their roles, which is nice to see.

This looks a bit unnecessary, but still fun! My kids are a little too young for the live-action show, so this might be fun to watch with them.
I have pre-ordered all of the Season 2 sets. Almost Aug 1st. Can’t wait! I guess that gives a hint that yes, I am super stoked for more One Piece! Love the Manga, love the anime, love the live action and I am sure I’m gonna love the animated LEGO version. Hip hip hooray!
Doomsday trailer just dropped. Can't wait to see the sets on the 26th.

I love the manga (anime not so much), the live action series so far was excellent, and the Lego sets were pretty good too! So put it all in a blender, and if this is what comes out, I'm all for it!
Fantastic! This is truly an opportunity for very young children who cannot see the live action causing bloogs, violent shocks and other ugly monsters.
With the Lego series, it's fun and the whole universe will be happier and visually softer.
Very cool event.
Don't see the point in this, but guessing they'd not be bothering if the Live action hadn't proven to be so popular.

I think the point is sort of like the various Star Wars/Marvel/etc. TV specials they've done—a cute, kid-friendly, and condensed version of the shows/movies. I guess it's not strictly "necessary" but it could probably help expand the audience for the sets a little since the live-action show does have some violence and scary moments that could be offputting for some younger kids and families.
I do like the sort of framing they seem to be going with (an "embellished" retelling of the show from known teller-of-tall-tales Usopp). That ought to help it justify itself a little better than a straight retelling.
Looks fun. Some of the Lego shows are pretty funny (and a few drag) so hoping this one is amusing too.

Fair point on that. Though, as for the violence angle, we had Avengers, Batman, Stranger Things, Star Wars and several other theme and sets that were sold before and without a toned down lego animated version. Admittedly, some did later get them, but they sold well enough without them.
This looks so fun. Three things really stand out:
1. Having the LA voice actors is fantastic
2. It's not just a Lego remake of the show - they are having fun with it (leaning into Usopp's "poetic licence")
3. They are embracing the fun, silly side of the show and dialling it up - like Mohawk rummaging for his weapons
I think this will be a good time

The search for the One Piece (I lost it while assembling)
If you haven't gotten into one piece yet, it's a great watch if you love zaniness and pirates together.
I watched the Netflix series, and now I'm currently going through the anime because of it. Surprisingly, the anime continues pretty well from the Netflix show.
I hear so much positive about the One Piece IP, I welcome an opportunity for my kids to explore it through LEGO.
It's weird that Lego put out trailers for sets due in 2 months yet keep tight lipped about the excellent looking 72051 apparently due in just over a week that's been shown briefly on the Argos website. It's almost like Lego has a clueless publicity department!
I would trust it more if it wasnt done by netflix as netflix has a known history of butchering anime series it brigns to live action or adapts in cartoons. *looks at netlfix garbage death note adaptation and horrible dmc adaptation cartoon*. You want actual one piece, watch the cartoon. The netflix adaptation did a ton of changes.

tbf unlike others... Oda the creator of One Piece is working with them, approves of all changes himself so it's not like they're being done out the blue. He has approved everything that's happened.
I am a huge OP Anime/Manga fan and this live action is great too imo unlike Death Note
This actually makes a lot of sense to me, I think the lego media sense of humour is a fantastic match for One Piece.

There's already two seasons proving they got it (mostly) right this time. Sure there are changes, but so are there in the anime vs. the manga. It's an adaptation after all. And what works in one format doesn't necessarily work in another.
If you want actual One Piece, read the manga. Anything else will deviate in some way or other.
I'll give it a try. I have always liked the humor in Lego animations and video games, this one looking in the same trend I think it can be fun to watch.

Big agreement here. Anime has diferences over Manga. Live action has differences over Anime. All good. And as mentioned Oda approved and so very good. If you’re not watching it’s your loss!
