Last November the Enterprise was a day one buy for me. This August I'm looking for a job, so I'll have to wait. Otherwise it would be another day one buy, of course!

I suppose they won’t ever model the full ship. Or if they do, it won’t come with more than one or two figures.

Looks like a mess of different things at first, but it looks amazing. I'm glad they did this. Would have been a weird decision to put out another ship straight after the last.

Mega bloks did it better. The transporter should be a separate set. The minifigs look really basic with some straight up wrong hair pieces. I don't see 1701 pieces here. It's too bad Lego got the license because they'll just give us one overpriced set per year.

I do think it is limited by sticking to 1701 pieces, which was a good gimmick in theory, but not in reality and I'm so glad they didn't do that with the Enterprise D.

They could have made the tribbles better, like hair pieces to give them texture and capture the fur, but I'm glad for the inclusion.

Not so much of a fan of the old series, I started with the movies then tng onwards, but I'll probably get this set at some point.

Those stickers are just cruel.

Great minifigs, but they aren't my bag so hard pass.

In Norway it's even 300 kroners cheaper than the X-files set. However, I assume both the licensors and the IDEAS designer are meant to get some income from the X-files set, whilst this set "only" has to feed the licensors, hence the difference.

I will definitely get it for the minifigs, but will wait for a discount

I can't believe a theme as little as Star Trek got a commander bridge before Star Wars...

i was hoping this would be better. the faces aren't as good as they could be, there are WAY too many stickers, and the price is way too high. if you print all those pieces, then maybe, but $200 for that? no.
also, missed opportunity to have Mirror, Mirror alternate figs/faces.

For something that clearly intended to be a display set, given the target audience, this set needed the deck floor doing too. I like it, but it just doesn't feel like a £160 set to me.

The set would be right at home in the fairground collection theme.

Will get this eventually, but not in any hurry while there's no original Enterprise ship to go with it (had no interest in 'The Next Generation').

I like the build way more the the figs, because half of them are hardly recognizable for me. I am currently watching Brave New Worlds and Kirk fig looks more like Pike for me. I very much like the layout and the transporter room inclusion. The lack of floor don't bother me for display, but posing figures without studs to attach is veeeery frustrating. At least they should include 4x3 plates from cmf series for the figs to not fall down with every breath. I don't mind stickers, even tho I agree for such hefty price there should none. And because inflation hit me hard over the last couple of years I will sadly have to pass on this set (and any other to be frank, lego is just out of my budget).

I'm not a Trekkie, never liked soap operas in general. So that obviously doesn't help. But regardless......this set feels like a bit of a mess to me. At first glance it looks like a bunch of separate elements, loosely connected, and both on the front and the back of the box, kinda awkwardly displayed. But then looking at the drawing with the dimensions, that setup seems to make a lot more sense......so why isn't that on the front of the box?

Other than that, I have seen enough to recognize it, but not all of the little details. So clearly not a set for me. It looks like this will have a massive sticker sheet though. And €180....I'm not really seeing it here.

The minifigures’ colours are off. The blue torsos are the wrong shade; they should be darker. The yellow ones should be mustard yellow (yes, I know they were green IRL but just appear mustard yellow on screen). Sulu and Scotty’s hair pieces should be black. For a set selling itself on the strength of its minifigures, the inaccurate colours are disappointing.

It was mostly a joke, basic Star Wars vs. Star Trek humor. And I'm just a casual SW fan at best.....

As for Star Trek, I haven't seen much of the original series, most I have seen has been from Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager.. And sorry if that offends anyine, but I can't help but feel like those very much were just soap operas set in space. As much as I am a SF fan, those generally bored me to tears. I did enjoy the J.J. Abrams movies though, but those felt like an entirely different franchise.

I'm having a panic attack just looking at what it is! Be happy it comes with stickers, you can get them probably very cheaply. In that case you do not need to buy this set! Create your own instead with using the sticker details! well the figures, but them alone might still be cheaper then buying this terrible set

What is actually here:

-8 very simple figures.
-some large wall-panels.
-a ton of stickers.
-a pointless base containing 1000 pieces

Every torso color has a different badge insignia, just like in the show! Talk about attention to detail!

This is the Star Trek I wanted, and I previously commented I would throw money at this set... but I'm sadly not enamoured with it. The number of stickers is frankly unacceptable, some of the minifig colours are off as previously mentioned, and they should have just made the bridge and transporter room separate sets. And there's no baseplate. I'm honestly disappointed.

Maybe on a sale. I kind of want it, but also....Lego's gotten too pricey and I really gotta limit my picks. NCC-1701-D was really my dream set. I figured they'd go classic Trek next go around, and that's fine, but my heart really was in Next Gen. Maybe they'll go with DS9 next.

The sleeves need the rank details for that price. Of course if the set overall is any indication if they did include the rank insignia it’d probably be stickers.

Say what you like about the BlueBrixx Star Trek sets but at least those came almost exclusively with prints - and often lots of them.
So glad I got their advent calendar which at least had a microscale version of this bridge (with all prints).

Very impressed with the minifigure selection, but not $200 impressed.

Well, I for one absolutely love it, and am just very happy and grateful to have a Star Trek TOS set of any description!

I've already ordered mine, and can't wait to build and display it next to my Enterprise-D!

This would be a no-brainer were it not for the over-reliance on stickers. Still, the set, for what it is, does a really good job. I tend not to get excited by licenced IPs, but the away team will look wonderful in and among the Christmas Village this year (and the Doctor and his TARDIS).

Sulu's hair piece is definitely black.

*Chekov's* is brown, which is accurate, but in some of his appearances his hair appeared dark enough that I could understand mistaking it for black.

Needs a base plate, not just floating on a shelf.

That is down to fans and the values they put on different things. Nearly everyone sees minifigures as the valuable items and bricks as almost worthless. Without the minifigures a set like this is useless and cannot really be repurposed without significant change. At least some sets like buildings can be repurposed. So I expect these figures to be £15-20 each as the bricks will be hard to sell. The bottom has fallen out of the parts market compared to 10 years ago.

Again, low budget, 1960’s TV series set. Cardboard was probably a major component. I know the nacelles on the TOS enterprise were supposedly paper towel tubes. Cardboard.

Actually, Star Trek was one of the most expensive shows on television at the time of its airing. Because it didn't get "stellar" ratings, it was one of the reasons NBC was desperate to cancel it.

Well, as someone who's been a fan of the original series for about 50 years, I must say this 60th anniversary set is a big disappointment. I was hoping for a big model of the Enterprise herself. After all, both Mega Bloks and Blue Brixx produced 3-foot models of the original Enterprise. I was interested to see how a Lego interpretation would compare.

In any case, Mega Bloks already did an original series bridge years ago. My copy of that is in storage, and so I'd be unable to compare it with this model. And there are errors in this set. For one thing, Kirk's captain chair never rocked with 'turbulence'. I don't know where the set's designer got the idea that it did. And those 'tribbles' don't really look much like tribbles. Tribbles are fluffy creatures. Those Lego 'tribbles' are smooth spheres, which look more like the spheres from the episode 'Return to Tomorrow'.

I'll still be buying this set. But it will be mainly because of the first Lego Star Trek original series minifigures. I think I'll probably wait for a sale, because this set really is a disappointment.

What on earth are you talking about? If you are talking about the 11-foot Enterprise miniature then you couldn't be more wrong. No part of the model (and certainly not the nacelles) was made from cardboard. The 11-foot miniature was constructed from plastic, wood and metal.

Correct. I believe 'The Cage' was one of the most expensive TV pilots ever at the time of its production.

EDIT: I just noticed another error. The hair on Kirk's minifigure is too light a shade of brown. Kirk's hair is a darker brown than that.

The cheap cardboard/assorted household items sets and props is more of a Doctor Who thing. And a Blake’s 7 thing. And an Avengers thing. And a Red Dwarf thing. Honestly just insert a British sci fi/fantasy show here thing. (Willrow Hood aside.)

Hard pass. All due respect to TOS, and the transporter room is dope, but the overall set is a huge miss. I don't care about stickers; its the build fundamentals used that are a problem. The uneven small bricks above the "Transport Room" sign; the uneven pieces next to bridge displays; the lack of a deck... The figures are terrific, but after the "D", we all want more ships... Connie Refit... Defiant... Romulan Warbird... Bird of Prey... Hell, a convincing DS9 could demand any price... but the TOS bridge? I'd sooner ask for more bare feet on Starfleet Academy...

I just found the easter egg that this has 1,701 pieces. That's a fun touch.

As for the set itself, it's okay. If anything, I'd want to do some color-swapping to make it more like the bridge of the USS Enterprise in the Kelvin-Timeline films.

I don't care for TNG and TOS to begin with, but I would like sets based on those Kelvin films.

Thx Hobbes, yes a couple of polybags. And that's where they should have like say Kirk with a Tribble in his alternate uniform. Spock with his Vulcan double bladed weapon. Bones with say some medical equipment.
They could also do polys, like Star Wars does, of various mini-ships from the original series til now.
It's a shame they're not making Star Trek a full line like Star Wars. I was really hoping when they first announced they got the license.

The Klingon Bird of Prey didn't come along until the movies, and The Borg were introduced in Star Trek: The Next Generation. I'd suggest a Klingon battlecruiser or Space Station K-7, to go with the tribbles.

I liked the John Scalzi novel that did some clever and interesting things with the idea of red shirts. (It’s called, er, Redshirts.) What’s it like to be an unimportant bit character in a tv show like that… and what do you do when you find out that’s what you are?

Despite Beyond being a definite if imperfect improvement (Justin Lin has a dab hand with an ensemble) I haven’t forgiven the Kelvin-verse for Into Darkness yet. I suppose we could have considered a thinly-veiled and inferior remake/rehash of a film we already have, wasting an excellent cast on nonsense, to be a warning sign for the Star Wars sequel trilogy and thus not got our hopes up quite so much.
