More information on May the Fourth promotions

Posted by ,

Bricks&Blocks has just published an image of the May store calendar for USA and Canada which provides information on the promotions that will be running that month in brand stores and at shop.LEGO.com. They are:

  • 75095 TIE Fighter will be available from May 2nd.
  • 5002947 Admiral Yularen polybag will be free with Star Wars purchases over $75, May 2nd-4th.
  • 30305 Spider-Man Super Jumper polybag will be free with purchases over $50, for most of the month, I believe.

In addition, the second series of Simpsons CMFs will be available, and the Kwik-E-Mart will be on general sale, having been made available to VIPs on 15th April.

Talking of April, I've not yet heard what offers will be running in Europe but in the USA I believe Ninjago 30293 Kai Drifter polybag will be free with purchases over $50. When I have more information I'll let you know.

Whoopy-doo... thanks :)

By in United Kingdom,

The VIP promotions have been terrible for ages, the double VIP points on most of the sets they've been doing have generally still meant it's a better deal to buy elsewhere.

By in Lithuania,

I hate how online Lego shop covers so few countries. We miss out on VIP points and LOTS of sets which are never brought by the usual toy resellers. Poland has it, why do Baltic states not? There are ships going straight to Denmark from here, would be no problem shipping sets >:(
The resellers sell everything at about 30% higher price than the official Lego.

By in Germany,

I missed the double points, I was sure it was running till tomorrow. The promotions are a bit thin, to be honest, I seldom buy from Lego directly, because most sets *are* cheaper elsewhere, even the "exclusive" ones. No idea why, though...

^^^ I'm glad to see it is not just China with this issue. Most things are 30% (+ in some cases) on the price of the UK. The LEGO.com does not work here, and some items are noticed for their not being anywhere (even though it is on the Chinese language version of the LEGO website)...

I admit I am tending to buy more things through LEGO.com in the UK, as I get them sent to a UK address, and collect the ones I want to bring back to China with me then. It also means that I don't miss out on the special packs (Valentines, Easter, etc.). When in the UK, I will shop around to find cheaper places, but don't have time often...

By in Ireland,

Just a minifig in a polybag? That's all? No double points on SW purchases in May?

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

In the "golden ages" the SW freebies came with ANY purchase over 75$ (17000 HUF). Since last year only purchase of Star Wars item counts. It's not worth buying SW directly from LEGO (even calculating with the 10% discount they used to give during this promo), other retailers are signficantly cheaper. This promo was a pass for me last year, probably it will be a pass this year, too.

Ah, that's where the piece of junk Spidey polybag comes from.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Thats a bit mediocre, I'll probably just end up buying Yularen off Bricklink

By in United States,

That free build a bear thing looks very cute.

Otherwise LEGO LEGO.com is a joke. I ordered something earlier this month just to get the free Bionicle thing, and because I wanted Easter set. Takes forever and costs too much for shipping. Target, TRU and Amazon all have been having 20% off sales, which is nice, and all have free shipping at a lower rate (Target is now only $25).

By in Denmark,

Anyone know what this "exclusive set" will be ?
Have not heard anything related to a new special set being released.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think you have to decide ultimately which is better. I didn't have the money last year at the time, but I wanted Darth Revan. Dare I spend $75 to get him "free" or get him off bricklink for about half that (currently trending at $22), but receive no bricks/sets for that total?

I still don't own Revan. I don't know how much I want Yularen, and I don't think there is much in terms of SW that I want since I already bought the sets when they came out in January/February...shouldn't LEGO release more SW sets closer to May 4th to help out with this, other than the one UCS set they release. Are there that many people that want to get UCS sets the day they come out?

By in United Kingdom,

The fairground mixer was released in June 2014 with early VIP access in May, so the exclusive set could be the rumoured ferris wheel.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Meh. Usually I'm excited for the May 4th promotions, because something is on sale, or there is a cool minifig being given away. This year I'm less than impressed.

On a side note, I'm still waiting for the Winter Soldier poly to show up in the United States. Anyone have an idea when that will be?

I don't know how it is in other countries but LEGO.com is shipping to Poland from Germany (Cologne). It is shipped by Deutsche Post, so my final provider is DHL. I think that shipping to Lithuania from Germany isn't more complicated. So I really don't understand why you don't have LEGO.com. Especially that we have only english version of the shop with prices in our currency. For Lithuania it should be easier to do since you have euros (they don't have to recalculate the prices).

The winter soldier is the June promo in the USA.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Yularen is coming into my house for sure (so long as the SaH does not have issues).

Gravatar
By in United States,

It MAYBE be worth spending the $75 to get the polybag IF they had the new Star Wars sets(Flash Speeder and Tydirium), but without any new sets there isn't anything worth buying at full retail price. Most of the current sets I can get between 20-30% off at other retailers so why would I pay full price for one minifig? Unless Lego discounts their sets like they did 5-10 years ago it's not worth buying anything on May 4th anymore.

Still remember getting the AT-OT for like $160.

By in United States,

Do you think the "NEW" super jumpers on the 19th-22nd are actually a redesigned jumper in response to feedback, or is that just "NEW" because super jumpers in general are new?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Bycougars The 75095 TIE Fighter is a new set coming out in May, and is over the $75 minimum purchase price to get the Admiral.

Gravatar
By in Japan,

May B 4th is with me. Depends on the discount on the ISD. If they charge RRP, it's probably a miss.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

In the good old days, SW sets were actually some percent off on the 4th (like 20% off of 10212 for example)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Where are people getting the exclusive sets like the Sandcrawler or Ewok Village on discount? I've not seem them for any better than 4 cents off on Amazon.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

You can get these on ebay often (sealed sets) for a lot less. 10236 (Ewok Village) can be had for less than 200 Euros. It just takes a bit of patience.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Can you get multiple admiral Yularen with separate orders? I have $277 of Star Wars Lego that I have my eye on and if I can separate that into 3 orders I could get 3 and might just throw another $23 worth of star wars to get a 4th.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wait, so when I order the TIE Fighter on May 2nd, 2 free polybags.

Are there restrictions on the Spider-Man, like it has to $50 on Superheroes?

Any word on the Electro polybag, last I knew, there was no news on it and it was over $100 on Bricklink and Fleabay?

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Spiderman promo doesn't start until the 15th of May, which means that Yularen will be sold out before you can get both together.

@myscrnnm I should have emphasized "regular sized sets". I don't buy the UCS sets nor is it worth it to spend 100's for one free minifig.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Aw , I was hoping for Darth Malak to go with Revan. Ah well , I'll still get this guy to finish out my imperial meeting room of 10188. Plus I'll get a nice poly too!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thanks for clarifying, Bycougars!

By in Lithuania,

Could somebody explain to me what does LEGO.com means? I have never seen this abbreviation, so not sure what it stands for.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

^It stands for Shop At Home, LEGO's online shop

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

^ It means the online official Lego store.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The shop at home name originates from the mid-90s, or maybe even before, when LEGO provided a mail order service in the USA. When the online shop opened it carried that name for a while but it was dropped some time ago. However AFOLs have continued to use the abbreviation LEGO.com given it's easier to write than LEGO shop or shop.LEGO.com.

By in United Kingdom,

a little off topic, but i am saving my points up for this in the hope of getting some more cool sets however...I was wondering if anyone can help, I placed a couple of orders on the Lego website on the 29th March, It showed double points on checkout but today I received my receipt and no double points???

Was the promotion upto the 29th? or was it upto and including the 29th March (UK)

I ordered the hellicarrier and Tower of Orthanc and its a lot of points to miss out on otherwise

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The promotion included the 29th as, apart from the fact that LEGO's own reminder e-mails stated as such, I ordered on that day and received double points.

I would wait until your order ships and the points have been applied (or not) to your account. If they aren't there then just call the customer service number on the website. They are extremely friendly and helpful and will certainly put any errors right for you.

By in United States,

Thanks for the info, never bought off of Ebay before, but since Amazon now charges sales tax on orders maybe I'll check it out a bit.

Gravatar
