LEGO Star Wars comic out next month
Posted by Huw,The publisher of the Chima, Ninjago and Friends comics that grace the kids' comic shelves in supermarkets and WHS in the UK is also producing a Star Wars one, starting next month, with a "Europe-wide launch of 700 000 copies in 13 languages."
More information is available on its website (in German). The main point of interest to us is that, like the others, there will be a cover mounted foil-packed set, the first of which will be a mini X-Wing. It will be interesting to see whether it's a new design or a re-hash of one of the many that have gone before. I don't suppose we will see minifigs packed with future issues otherwise I would have thought the first issue would have included one for maximum impact, but you never know...
Thanks to Michael S for the news.

Ah, this looks interesting. I'll look into this - especially if it comes with exclusive Minifigures! :)
I thought about this as well, when I first heard of it and - as you said - I doubt they're pulling out minifigs eventually. The issue to do this is 1 and no other. And if I remember correctly, their Ninjago and Chima magazines had figures on 1.
I wish they had these in the United States... I was thinking about the no mini figure on issue one though. Mini figures for Ninjago and Chima on issue one is one thing, but for Star Wars maybe they're waiting to see how well the comic does first? Ninjago and Chima are their own brands without much competition, where as Star Wars is everywhere with a market that is totally saturated with content. It could be possible that they're just making sure it takes before investing more money into it. Than again, that's just my thoughts without anything to back them up...
Can't really tell from picture, but it looks like the same build as the Toys R Us and Star Wars Celebration X-wing.
Can't see them containing minifigs going forward as the magazine will sell regardless. No doubt it'll be advent calendar builds each month. @gmonkey76 is correct - had seen it appear on another site months back.
http://www.paninicomics.it/web/guest/productDetail?viewItem=787619 <- Italian will be one of the thirteen!
As for the X-wing, this page reads: "Only here, and in limted edition".
The German website text translates to "every issue will contain an exclusive Star Wars mini model". I doubt it.
Collecting these magazines is getting to be an expensive hobby!
Hmm, seems to be starting on a low note- the X-Wing looks almost identical to the one I got free from TRU a while back :P
To all those commenting about the build, it is the TRU/SWCA X-Wing model. I image searched the cover image from the article, and got this huge version: http://www.burda-news.de/sites/default/files/bilder/LEGO%20STAR%20WARS%20Cover_final_DE-001.png
Wondering if anyone has seen this magazine in UK/Ireland yet? Can only see reference to it in Germany/France and Spain on social media. It appears on the panini French site but I emailed Panini UK and they said it's not published by them - so will try the publisher of Chima/Ninjago.
