Sale now on at shop.LEGO.com
Posted by Huw,
There's a summer sale on at shop.LEGO.com in Europe at the moment with some decent discounts to be had, 30% in most cases.
Around 70 sets have been reduced, including Ultra Agents, Super Heroes, The LEGO Movie, Exo-Suit, Chima and series 4 Mixels.
Here are links to what's on offer: UK | Germany | France.
There's something slightly weird about the page, though. When I viewed the UK page in Chrome I saw just 6 products, but when I view in Firefox, which I don't usually use, I see all 70. Clearing cookies for the domain in Chrome has solved the problem so if you don't see much on offer, try that.
Thanks to ensign_dave for the news.

Better be quick. For me the shop didn't properly work for an hour or so (same problem as Huw). And when the sets finally showed up, a lot of the interesting ones were gone already ('call us for availability'). E.g., Benny's spaceship was on sale, but seems long gone...
I managed to get a couple of the 'call for availability' ones, lady on the phone was very helpful. Agree with Huw that something funny is going on, 3 times I've looked at it, 3 different selections of products!
Browsing from Australia here. Three things on sale.
Yes, I cleared my cookies. Would anyone like to verify this for me?
So I ended up buying the Exo-Suit after all...
^^ Yep, three things :)
We can do better. In Belgium only the police truck on sale. :-/
Well, I bought some of the (smaller) Ultra Agents in the end. I could never really decide whether I actually wanted them. But now, with 30% off.
I could see the sale prices on the individual item pages, but not the Theme page or Sales page - switched browsers to Firefox which I don't normally use, and could see them - very odd.
I can't see the sale prices, can't even get product pages to load. I'm guessing I probably don't need anything from the sale but it's annoying to not even be able to check!
Interestingly - I just got an email from LEGO.com with a link to the sale - following that link and all the sale items show up in my normal browser now!
For the Netherlands it is not (yet) available.... 5 sales for now...
Opera - like six sets, Firefox - all of them!
Wow, we here in Germany only get the City Police Truck and some non-sets? Booo!
LEGO's website is truly dreadful.
I'm really annoyed that the Exo-Suit is on sale because I got two back in February when LEGO clearly said it will be discontinued. Not sure if it's worth picking up a couple more :/
My eye is on the LEGO Business Card Holder.
@Poisso3: I also checked (and ordered from) the German web shop a few hours ago and it contained significantly more sets. Just checked now: 47 sets available. Wait, 46... And some are marked "check availability" now...
Its behaviour is all a bit weird isn't it...
When I click the UK link I get 39 products, but when I view some of the products under "you may like" section at the bottom there are items listed which are on sale that do not appear on the 39 listed prodcuts
Coincidence that this turned up. On Monday, I bought another load of LEGO. Then a sale appears. :P
But I can't see all 70 sets... The most powerful (toy) company in the world can't have a decent site. How appalling. :\
That was an ordeal. Number of products varied between 6, 39, 41 & 61 whilst placing order. Surely Lego must know there IT is awful or does their person in charge of the webpage talk a good talk at corporate meetings & everyone else is too IT illiterate to ask the right questions? The fan websites and Lego magazines should all ask their customer relations department for interview as to why their webpage sucks. Then someone in their management would think they need to work on their public front end appearance and customer experience. Arghhhhhh!
I would agree. You should think that the world's biggest toy company would be able to afford a decent IT department, or be able to hire a company that actually knows what they are doing...
sort button does nothing, clicking second page does nothing,
tlc's online shop is just a token
and that's now the case for a couple of years,
only change i can see is the list of licenses getting longer
Same here, bought two Exo suits. One built the other for my son when he's older ....and now they are discounted. Grrrrrrrr
some of these prices are available in-store too... certainly the ultra agents ones are!
The site is majorly screwed up, and has been for months. Something in the cookies causes it to link you back to the shop home page if you jump straight in to a product list and try to click the next-page link.
Also when you come out of the Customer Services page and it asks you to then use the shop checkout to fill out your address details for missing parts, it then bounces you back to the home page and deletes the record of parts they were going to send you.
It's been like that for nearly half a year now and still isn't fixed.
Poor Chima...perpetually on sale or clearance. The theme was at least popular to have lasted for a few years, but I'm not sure why it never really caught on like Ninjago. I thought the animals-driving-animal-shaped-vehicles concept was really cool, the minifigs looked great, and the designers did a nice job making the vehicles look like the animals they were supposed to be.
Very strange, today at 8 a.m. there were Chima, Hobbit, Superheroes, Lego Movie, even Exosuits, Mixels ... on sale - I was Lucky and grapped some sets. Now all reduced sets are gone...
@Modok - I just can't believe that chima is not succesful. All the younger boys around here (4-8y) love the chima stuff. Every Birthday, chrismas -,they always want chima. They all have lots of chima sets - mostly more than 10!
Come on guys,LEGO store even unavailable in China
@Trawernix - Oh...well, I'm just going by the very unscientific basis of how many of the sets are so frequently on sale or clearance. I guess that doesn't necessarily mean the line isn't a success overall.
I'm in the US, and I don't see much of anything on sale from Lego Movie, DC Superheroes, or the Exo-Suit.
BUT, sometimes sales hit on Saturday mornings in the US, don't they?
I looked on my PC, I saw all the sale items.
I looked on my iPhone, I saw 6 sale items.
Looked back on the PC, all the sale items were there.
Weird.
Ordered this morning and successfully goes through - Order Status was "In Process" but has now completely disappeared
Reminiscent of earlier this year when the new sets were released. Another IT fiasco.
I think it's a cookie problem. I usually run LEGO.com with Chrome on pc and IE on phone, both always logged on: offers were the same than last weeks; some more discounts starting unlogged IE on pc.
On the Polish LEGO SHOP are also sales
Deleting stored cookies for the shop website always clears the problems. But this a major pain for the users and a fix shouldn't be impossible.
No more TLM Sets. Instantly sold out: TLM, Marvel sets.
chrome and opera: only 6 sets. internet explorer: 36 sets ... awful web shop.
Items on sale online are also in store. I went to both Shepherds Bush and Watford today. Both shops were quiet though you wouldnt have noticed the sale prices much as I didn't see the red reduced stickers. Anyway finally picked up my The Lonely Mountain at £69.99. That left one on the shelf at Watford at 5.30pm.
Checking again from Australia. Two things on sale.
One of them is a book!
It's not that Lego's website is dreadful, their sales are very truly dreadful. If it was a proper sale, they'd have 20% off everything, with some proper bargains thrown in there.
hey LEGO, maybe try giving us Americans good sales every now and then... just a thought
I checked it this morning when the email came through, only had 6 things listed for Australia and only one was at a decent discount from memory.
advantage being in Asia...6hrs up front...got all (13 items) confirmed via email. doesn't mean anything anyway...in 2 weeks they tell you "sorry sold out" and you are left with only 2 items (see winter sales mess)
Don't feel for the people who bought two Exo-Suits. Dislike this Re-selling Ebay crowd. Kind of glad the ES is on sale just to stick it to those sneaky types that bought multiples hoping to sell them double or triple the price when they retire.
