3-for-2 on toys at Argos
Posted by Huw,From today (Friday) until Tuesday Argos is offering 3-for-2 on toys. You can reserve now to pick up tomorrow.
Unfortunately, it appears as if the Scooby Doo and Technic sets have been removed from its website; at least I can't find them again.
Maybe you will have more luck if you go into a store tomorrow - the stock numbers are listed after the break.
Technic
Scooby Doo
- 75900 Mummy Museum Mystery 388/2799
- 75901 Mystery Plane Adventures 389/5621
- 75902 Mystery Machine 385/1335
- 75903 Haunted Lighthouse 390/9658
- 75904 Mystery Mansion 382/1688
Good luck!

Yes as usual there is no stock in the south west... The set prices have gone up in the last few days too.. Also some sets have been removed and also some sets are only available to have delivered and the 3for2 is only for in store!!! Argos really!!! Poor show again!!
The only thing good about an Argos 3 for 2 is that Amazon and other retailers sometimes reduce some of their sets by 1/3rd.
Argos never has 3 sets in that I want of a similar value to make it worthwhile.
When did Argos change their logo to look like Amazon's? I've been out of the UK for over ten years so I'm a bit out of touch. Pleased though to see that their standards are as "high" as I remember....
3 Mercedes-Benz Arocs for the price of 2??? Wow you guys are lucky.
We don't have such stores here, no promos like that.
^^ That's the theory, but they've been removed from sale and in any case very few branches would have 3 of the same set in stock.
The website is so abysmally slow (as usual) that I've given up looking!
I'm sure Amazon will knock a third off the Star Wars Tyderium set... Please!
Will try to pick up a few sets, but with all the negative comments here, I don't know if it's worth it...
If nothing, a few Minifigures would be nice. :)
Just grabbed a mystery machine from my local store. Whilst not searchable online if the store has it in stock it'll let you buy it ok.
Alas I'm now broke so couldn't take advantage of the 3for2- but did still get the £5 voucher for spending £25 plus on Lego.
Just looked on at my 15 nearest stores, no Jurassic World available or to even order in and collect in a few days - brilliant
I noticed the complete lack of Jurassic world sets near me as well, very strange...hmmmmmm!
I just assumed the lack of Jurassic World sets would link in with it being the start of Summer Holidays for kids, and the fact the film is still (I think) in cinemas, so Lego sets'll sell quite well indeed.
I took a look, but nothing I really want there, that I can't hang on for, and see if John Lewis have at a slightly better price later in the year, to be honest. All I'd buy are Speed Champions, and the one set I want isn't worth buying with anything else.
Nightmare that you have to pay in store this time round, so no quick fastrack orders or home delivery orders.
Waiting for a response from Argos about online only items, seems silly that you have to queue and pay in store for home delivery!
those prices are not so good even in the 3-2 schema
Managed to reserve x3 of Shuttle Tydirium at my local store, collect from 4pm today.
Phoned the store and they do have Scooby sets (not snax) in stock
Easter Bunny 40086 still available too at £4.99 already 25% off or 3 for a tenner. My local one in stoke has nearly a dozen of these.
Just picked up 2 Friends Grand Hotels and the Mercedes-Benz Arocs from Hull's Market Place store.
They were the only stock they had of those. Was waiting on a deal for the Hotels as I've had my eye on them with view to a MOC I want to do. Nice overall saving of £100.
Happy days!
The whole Scooby Doo issue is so irritating with Argos.
Empdal did the Market Place get screen menus yet? I wish they'd update that store, I usually go to St Stephens or Anlaby.
No they're still just using the old system. Very hard to read too. I don't think they'll bother updating this store as there's already newer stores in the area and I can see this one closing sooner rather than later.
If anyone is in the area and interested norwich castle mall have two UCS X wings and the new Mercedes technic set in stock - that's £170 saving!
Thanks for the links. I picked up the Mystery Machine along with Aira's Pegasus Sleigh and the Deep Sea Submarine. I know I didn't maximise my free Lego but I did get sets that would make good presents for various family members.
PS how do I set my country?
Bit rubbish how there are signs up saying 'Reserve Online - Collect Instantly', so you reserve, and get told it takes 24 hours for the reservations to come through to the store tills (by which time they could have sold what you wanted), and the automatic kiosk doesn't work. And the lunchtime queue is nearly to the door with buggies overflowing with bored, wailing kids as there's only one person on the tills. Although that's fairly typical for Farnborough.
On the plus side I got the Death Star Duel, Imperial Shuttle and the City Space Shuttle in one bundle, giving me £5 off my second lot of Pegasus Sleigh, Wu Dragon and Jurassic Jeep. Not perfectly optimised, but a great mix of sets and parts still at an average of 32.8% off, and a £5 voucher.
The only Scooby-Doo sets were the Mummy and the Plane; I only really want the Mystery Machine and the Mansion for the full set of figures, though I do have a semi-collection of LEGO lighthouses so may end up getting the lot at some point.
It seems branches near me have 1 Merc. truck each but not the two other new Technic sets. My branch had 1 Merc and nothing else over £100 so I had to come out empty handed :-(
Sadly, they don't have the UCS TIE Fighter on the books either.
^^ I ordered this morning for the Cowley (Uxbridge) store and picked up at lunchtime. No buggies, no wailing kids, and staff who jumped on tills as things got busy. What bugs me more with Argos is when it says your order is ready for collection and you can see your item(s) not yet on the shelf!
@weareallkosh - the opposite annoys me more, when there are several staff stood around chatting, your item is quite clearly there, but none of them are doing anything about it!
I paid for 3 lots at the kiosk and didn't realise there was a £5 voucher on each receipt until I got home. Does anyone know if you can use more than one voucher towards one transaction or if there is a minimum purchase amount? Can't see any T&Cs anywhere
Everything I looked for (City, Elves, Pirates, Speed) was in stock in my local store nr Sheffield, but no new sets at all.
Just got SW Imperial Assault Carrier, Shuttle Tydirium and the Lego City Spaceport (shuttle) sets on 3-4-2. Probably about £30-£40 saved in real terms. Happy enough with that, only sets I wanted from what was in stock around here.
It would be better timing if Argos had these deals *after* the end of the month (in other words, payday) instead of just before.
Got a cracking deal from the Argos at Bentley Bridge in Argos, got three big sets including Jokerland (to complete my DC sets for now) and got given a £5 voucher which I used on a couple of Simpsons Minifigure. Almost makes up for the overspending I've done on some of my other sets.
Picked up three Ninjago sets today! What a great deal....
^^^^^dbbunny
Yes you can use more than one voucher against your purchase - I did today using 2 vouchers I got last weekend. Nice getting £10 off, a set free and another £5 voucher for next time!
bought imperial assault carrier and 2 jokerlands.... too bad the scooby does were all out except for mystery machine but i couldn't find another 2 x 30 quid items... new technics were sold out too
best of all, 5 mins after i paid... got a mail from amex saying i was getting 10 quid credit... totally forgot i had signed up for the offer (spend 70 get 10 back) months ago.. RESULT!
now looking for a few more!
^^thanks calv
I managed to get the Mystery Machine today here in Plymouth I wasn't aware of the 3-2 offer ! Still got £5 off my next purchase
Grabbed 3 Five X-Wing Starfighters today, unbelievable deal, well chuffed... Do I give 2 away as presents???
Yep, i just reserved 2 jokerlands for collection later today, and the pirate ship is in stock and reserved for me. Glad i read this article about the scooby doo sets.... i'm off to my local store to try my luck!
I got 3 boxes of Classic bricks that were on sale before the 3 for 2 deal, €19.99 each, they are €24.99 on LEGO.com. The math works out to all three boxes half-price, or 1740 bricks for €39.98.
I was fortunate enough to get 2 technic Mercedes trucks and the volvo technic set across 2 different stores and a home delivery order, the mercedes boxes were a bit bashed, but that's to be expected with argos.
Just picked up City Deep Sea 60095, Tydirium Shuttle 75094 and City Space Port 60080
Have a discount card through work and got my £5 voucher to spend later not too bad works out 35% + off.
No Technic sets in stock at my local Argos though, may be reserved!
Didn't think to check stock on Scooby Doo, rather annoyed with myself. Got the tydirium shuttle and pirate ship though. My pay day isn't until Tuesday, think that's the last day, so will have to cross my fingers!
got the hulkbuster, ant man set and hydra showdown for 50 but i just don't feel as if its money well saved. Can anyone recommend sets that will actually have a big saving for example the avengers tower is 48 on amazon yet 60 on argos i don't like the prices argos set
managed to phone and reserve the mystery mansion and Death Star final duel for collection tomorrow plus ordered the Creator blue power jet too still some saving on sets that haven't really been reduced by much yet.
Got jokerland, final duel and the Tydirium. Pretty happy with the £70 saving :) my Argos, a fairly small one, had stock of pretty much everything I checked.
why not take a quick look at my Lego city https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9i1pSP3FVM
