Amazon matches Smyths 20% discount

Posted by ,

The discounts haven't showed up in our alerts because they haven't hit the 25% threshold but if you head to the Amazon discounts page you will see that a whole raft of sets, including the new Star Wars ones, are discounted by at least 20%, in response to Smyths' offer I must assume.

Thanks to Clone for noticing.

@celebo
20% off UK prices still makes it slightly more expensive then US prices :-O

Account for the usual Amazon lying:

60052-1: Cargo Train
RRP: £167.99
Price: £111.99
You Save: £56.00 (33%)

Liars. The RRP is £139.99. And no, this isn't Amazon Marketplace, this is "Dispatched from and sold by Amazon".

One of the reasons I have boycotted Amazon for two years now. If you are a smart shopper, you don't always shop at Amazon. I've lost count how many times I saved money by buying direct - and not just Lego.

@omnium
Oh, I hadn't realized. But in that case, all of you over there deserve that discount! :)

Amazon UK has a promo where you buy £40 in gift cards and you'll get £10 bonus card. I bought 2 £40 gift cards and got 2 £10 gift cards. Millenium Falcon cost me $165 CDN which is much better than $203 CDN. Plus I used the other card to get a Lego Darth Vader figure for $22 CDN.
