I aquired a copy last friday and it's a great game, but it needs and update as it freezes after a few levels... Tried it some times but it keeps freezing. Luckily you can freeplay in some other dimensions untill the fix arrives. As this is the version with dutch subs I don't know if the freeze also occures in the other versions
I preordered it, along with the Jay Fun Pack. Can't wait for it to come. Unfortunately, I ordered it from Amazon so I have to wait for the two-day shipping.
Available in france too.
@legojeroen,
What console are you running it on? I would not be surprised if the xBox 360, PS3, and Wii U versions suffered from a few more issues like that.
^As opposed to Xbox One, PS4, and Wii U?
One of my friends is planning to get Dimensions next week. I will play some of it... The LEGO Movie Videogame on PS4 was awesome, pun intended.
yesterday i was at Walmart and my dad spotted a few of the Lego dimensions fun packs as soon as I saw them I ran to the gaming section. I looked up and down that gaming section twice but didn't see it so I guess they made a mistake. but I still got one of the fun packs
Are the minifigures glued like keychains?
@jgrahl: Nope. The figures, vehicles, and portal are 100% buildable.
Yay! Cant wait for this game.
Xbox One and PS4 likely have the most beta play testing so there would be a chance of more bugs on other consoles. With the state of the game industry, I would not be surprised if some major bugs are found on any platform.
The Xbox one and ps4 versions will run the smoothest.
I have Lego city undercover, Lego marvel and Lego batman 2 on wii u, and both lrgo marvel and lrgo batman suffer from frame rate drops when using two screens. Lego batman 2 is pretty buggy in general. Lego marvel always freezes on the loki level for me and I've had it freeze on me a couple other times. Other than that the characters can get stuck, which isn't too much of a problem, just switch characters and attack the stuck character with the unstuck character.
They're certainly playable, the issues are just irritating, if anything. Someone not used to dealing with bugs might get frustrated.
Just picked up my copy along with the Portal level, Benny and Wonder Woman. TRU has $10 gift card for buying the starter set and then another $10 dollar gift card for spending $35 on level packs, fun packs or team packs. You can combine the offers to get $20 from the combined purchase. I am pretty sure the rest of my day will be consumed with playing. Happy Sunday! :D
@brickbelt Xbox360
Kinda fixed it: you have to wait like 5 minutes and then the game continues...weird
^ Interesting, it might just be the game loading whatever's next, some parts of the wii u Lego games have some bad load times and the 360 and ps3 aren't likely to be any better.
^ Well it froze in the middle of a sentece the bad guy was saying after I had beaten him. So in a mini movie leading up to the next level. Normaly you can skip the mini movies but that was also not possible.
I may just buy the Portal pack for Chell.
I just read a review of disappointed Portal fan who bought the level pack, only to find out that it does not include instructions.
This just happened to me, someone should make a video of the instructions and post it.
@andresjr89: it's already on youtube, though this guy builds it a bit fast

@Blockland
I imagine you, myself and many other people will. I just wish we knew if a proper set will ever be released to avoid the waste of buying such an expensive minifig.
@ diederik, Thanks so much!!! What an exercises that was.
The instructions come in the game, this is a good thing for people who trade in games and trade for others. It means you do not have to keep the instructions as you have them once you play the game. I think it is a great idea for that concept but understand how it would be an issue for those who just want the figures and not play the game. See it being a big issue once the Dr. Who sets are released.
Picked it up this morning. Can't wait 2 play :)
Super impressed with the Lego sets themselves. I got the base game and all three level packs (Portal, BttF and Simpsons). The builds are quite challenging without instructions (no provided instructions for the base game Batmobile or anything in the other packs except the minifigures), and I had fun trying to build them just based on the one small picture you get on the front of each box. I know the game gives you instructions, but I was having fun building them myself and I hate having loose pieces. TONS of great components in these sets though, and way more printed elements than I was expecting (the Portal Companion cube being a notable one). Very highly recommended just based on the Lego sets alone, I have heard the game is quite good as well!
I'm in the US. We bought our Lego Dimensions set/game on Sunday. We also picked up the Back to the Future and Portal 2 expansion sets.
@Jeff2Space - I wasn't clear in the manual, can you only get to other worlds like DC Comics and Ninjago etc that don't have figures in the base game or in the level packs we got if you buy one of the fun packs or team packs that have a character from that property? It kinda sounded like that was the case, but I still haven't gotten into the game yet.
DC is a bad example since you get Batman in the base game, let's say Ninjago and Chima - can you go to those worlds without purchasing a fun or team pack from them first?
@Xevo: The game comes pre-loaded with story levels related to most of the LEGO Dimensions franchises, but you need a "toy tag" (the minifigure bases) from one of the characters in order to explore the open-world "Adventure World" related to that particular franchise. These are separate from the story levels that come with the starter pack or the bonus levels that come with the level packs.
So for instance, one of the story levels in the Starter Pack takes place at Master Chen's Tournament of Elements from LEGO Ninjago, but if you buy a Ninjago fun pack you can unlock a separate Ninjago "Adventure World" that you can explore freely.
^ Perfect that's what I needed to know, thanks!
