LEGO Ideas 21303 Wall*E is now available from shop.LEGO.com in the USA and Canada, following a delay caused, we believe, by faulty hinges used in its neck.

These have presumably been replaced, but this does not address the main issue with the design of the set, the floppy head, which it seems is intentional.

On the other side of the Atlantic, it's proved to be a popular model and is currently on back order until next week.

By in Hong Kong,

Finally... don't think the head problem is fixed though

By in Bulgaria,

Nice. At this point I think I will just wait another week for 2x points though.

By in United States,

I picked it up in the US three weeks ago. Great that it's officially available, though.

By in United States,

I have 2 stores in my area. One said they'll get it in 2 weeks, the other said Friday. It's interesting to hear that they didn't address the floppy head, even after such a major holdout/recall.

I really want one, but that neck issue is a huge turn off for buying one. :(

Don't let it stop you. It might not even bother you and if it does it's easily fixed.

I little wobbly head is easily fixed by saran wrap if you're not a purist. There's a lego kit fix to it already too if you're a purist. Don't let that stopping you from an excellent set.

Wait a minute now... they intentionally put such an absurdly glaring design flaw in a set that a ton of people will buy and be seriously disappointed with?!

WHY?!

@PicnicBasketSame
Because people like us will buy it regardless!
People on the internet have obviously bought it to review it, but once you notice the problems in the review people will have already jumped on making solutions to fix it and are already buying them by the dozens to re-sell for 20 times the price in 5 years!

By in Canada,

I would imagine the neck flaw was addressed given the delayed release. Why else would they have kept it out of LEGO stores, particularly when other retailers were selling them?

I'm sure I'll pick one up over the holiday promo sales.

Lego_Fox ... "like us"? I've put off buying one, I honestly think I won't even bother. The flopping head thing is going to annoy me too much, I can see it. I like the set, but I don't want to reward Lego's substandard quality-control practices.

It isn't an issue. They even said since Wall-E's head can do that, so the LEGO model can too. It is intentional. Only the fans aren't understanding why they'd want a model of a character that is true to the on screen presence.

^ I don't actually remember the scenes where, every time Wall-E moved or rolled anywhere, his entire head flopped around in every direction uncontrollably.

We must've been watching different movies. *shrug*

So built my Wall-E set last night. Overall, it's become one of my favorite sets. I am disappointed though as the set I received while it doesn't flop up and down, vertical axis is fine, the horizontal is crappy to say the least. The head spins around freely. If that was intentional, I don't remember Wall-e's head freely spinning in the movie whenever it wanted to. :/
