LEGO All Stars: what do you know about it?
Posted by Huw,
When I was in Denmark in August, I picked up a pack of LEGO All Stars trading cards and an album to put them in from the LEGO shop at Billund airport. I didn't think any more about them until talking to Sue-Ann at Swindon last weekend who asked me what I knew about them and whether I had the ones she needed.
To be honest, I am not entirely sure what LEGO All Stars is all about and where it is being promoted. As well as the trading cards there is a page on LEGO.com that only appears to be in Danish and also a mobile app LEGO All Stars Movie Maker that is not compatible with all three of my Android devices (HTC One M8, Nexus 7 and 9) which seems a bit odd, so I can't tell what it does.
So, can you shed any light? Have you seen the cards in your shops? Does the app run on your device?
There is a picture of the 8 (out of 40) cards that I have after the break.

Intriguing! And as for availability, the app does not seem to be available for download in the US or Australia.
You can get the 1 all-stars deck as promotional offer in the Netherlands when you spend over €10 on LEGO products.
The stats in the bottom right corner look a bit like categories like those that appear on Top Trumps cards. Maybe it's a rip off?
Got a pack of these for free when buying some Lego, looked up the app on the Google Play Store and read that it's about creating a Lego movie with those characters... not interested.
the Lego Movie Maker for iOS is just an app for making your own stop motions whereas this is different.
tried the weblink and clicked the app store says not available in UK Store, so sent to US store but cant find ont here either
never heard of it.
No idea but I still want a LEGO Smash Bros-style game.
^OOH, yeah! I would totally buy that.
I've never heard of this before. Can't help you guys there...
The page says there is a code on each card. If enter the code in the app you unlock "unique content"(apparently characters) which you can make movies with.
Before today I never knew I wanted Lego Top Trumps but now that's all I want.
All I know is that if Johnny Thunder isn't on one of the cards, "LEGO All Stars" is a misnomer!
In Norway these are given away with any Lego purchase at the toyshop BR.
Looks to be a Nordic only competition ending next week
Who is the female ninja in the bottom right card?
^ That's Nya as a ninja. http://brickset.com/minifigs/njo165/Nya-Ninja
There are available in Belgium.
Im from Denmark ,so i can understand what's written lego.com and here is the translation:
"Her kan du bruge de All Stars-koder, du finder i forskelligt All Stars-materiale. Du kan få All Stars-materiale med koder til at låse op for enestående LEGO® indhold i din lokale LEGO butik eller steder, hvor du kan købe LEGO produkter. Hvis du er LEGO Club medlem, kan du også finde en kode i LEGO Club Magazine. Koderne kan bruges til at låse op for enestående indhold, der er specielt udvalgt til All Stars-filmskabere."
"Here you can use the All Stars-codes you find in different All Stars-products. You can get All Stars-products with codes for unlocking amazing Lego-content in your local lego store or places where you can buy lego. if you're a lego club member, you can find a code in the magazine. the codes can be used for unlocking amazing content, that are especially chosen for All Stars-moviemakers."
it's something about making movies with different lego clips from china and ninjago tv series, the lego movie and lego city mini movies and someting else. every card probably represents a specific clip.
Here in Finland, you'll get a booster pack with Lego purchase from BR-Lelut toy store, and the album if you buy for more than 20€. Some store have promotional postcards, of all things, in the Lego aisle.
Haven't opened mine, though. Not really that interested.
In Sweden you will get the LEGO all stars for free if you buy LEGO for more than 250 SEK (~25 EUR, ~20 GBP or ~30 USD) at at least two stores-chains, LEKIA ( https://youtu.be/O2_-GnpeJgc ) and BR.
I've gotten a packet with a purchase as well.
In fact, I got the exact same cards!
It appears the only randomness is which packet you get. The card combinations are the same across packets.
Interesting, maybe LEGO's second attempt at a trading card game like Ninjago. This is the first time I've seen or heard anything about this game, but I'll definitely look out for this.
Thank you for the information -- seems it's a Scandinavian and BeNeLux thing then...
One of my local stores in Sweden just has the whole box out and is giving them away for free. :)
