LEGO to sponsor 5km road race in Mexico

Posted by ,

If you're anywhere near Parque Fundidora, Monterrey, Mexico on 29 November look out for runners competing in LEGO Operaciones de Mexico annual 5km road race.

The 1500 participants will be wearing a very cool running strip and will each receive an exclusive minifig, pictures of which you'll find below.

Thanks to Mexico RLUG for the news.

By in Mexico,

LEGO has been sponsoring these races for two or three years now, LEGO also provides a trophy which is made out of LEGO bricks and there are other made of DUPLO blocks and to top it off, they also raffle some nice sets at the end of the race.

Whilst it is a shame that the minifigures aren't wearing the official t-shirt they still look dapper in the Mexican flag colours.

Really like the LEGO brick styling on the minifig clothes, would love to see this detail introduced in other fig prints.
