More BRICK 2015 ExCeL Fan Zone displays
Posted by Huw,
BRICK 2015 at London's ExCeL is now just over two weeks away.
In the run-up to the show we are taking a look at some of the fantastic MOCs that are being displayed in the fan zone.
We can also now report on the speaker line up for AFOLCON, the event specifically for AFOLs that's being held on the Thursday before the main event. I'm told there are a handful of tickets available for it so if you haven't already secured your place you can buy them here. AFOLCON tickets also provide entry to the main BRICK show on all three days.
Tickets for the main event are also selling fast but can still be obtained from SeeTickets. Remember, if you need five tickets use the code BRICK15 at checkout to get them for just £69.
The agenda for AFOLCON has just been published, although there are a couple of speakers still to be confirmed. The sessions confirmed so far are:
- Are J Heiseldal (Bergen, Norway) - Updating the Classics
- Michael Gale (Ottowa, Canada) - Railway Modelling in LEGO bricks
- Rocco Buttiliere (Chicago, USA) - Landmark to Landscape
- Steven Canvin (Mudge Island, Canada) - Ten Tales from Inside The LEGO Group
On to the MOCs...
Portuguese LUG Comunidade 0937's Enchanted Forest was one of the highlights of Skaerbaek. It's simply stunning so I'm very happy that it's being displayed at BRICK, too. This image is from an article about it in the latest Bricks magazine:
Tim Goddard, of LEGO Space: Building the Future book fame, is displaying his Birnam - A New World model, photo also courtesy of Bricks magazine:
One of the more interesting model concepts being displayed is this Selfridges frontage by Lee McGinty; you might have read about it in the forum.
Basically, people could bid to build a model to be displayed in a shop window, with proceeds going to Fairy Bricks. Visitors to the show will be able to vote for the one they like the best.
Yours truly has entered so be sure to drop by to take a look and vote.
You may already have seen pictures of this superb classic-space-meets-dinosaur model by David Alexander Smith. I can't wait to see it, and others in the same vein, at the show.
That's all for now. We will take a look at some more next week.
If you still need tickets, you can grab them here. Myself and CapnRex101 look forward to seeing you there.

I love how the one picture looks like he is using Super Speed to build the structure before the event. GOT 2 BUILD FAST!!
Awesome!
I created my Lego Ideas account solely to support model in the final picture (Spaceosaurus). Unfortunately, it does not seem to be gaining traction (half of all supporters in the first three days...).
