Happy New Year!

The entire January 2016 range is now available from LEGO Shop@Home and in brand retail stores. This includes the highly-anticipated direct-to-consumer sets 10251 Brick Bank and 75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters.

You can take a look at a full list of the new sets here, although it may take a few minutes for the list to update to include the most recent sets.

Please help support Brickset by using the following links when making any purchases:

USA | UK | Canada | Germany | France

UPDATE (00.18): It appears that the prices of some sets are being inflated when you reach the checkout while others are being reduced. I suspect this may be the first of many issues to come, perhaps enough to beat last year's debacle!

UPDATE (11:28): Everything seems go be back to normal. Let's see how long it stays that way.

By in United Kingdom,

Just tried to purchase the new modular Bank and when added to the cart the price zooms up from £119.99 to £133.33!!!

Seems to be a fault here....

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Battle on Takodana, here I come...

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Yeah, the same bug is happening on the Aussie shop @home site as well. I wasn't sure if it was just us or if it was an issue with the site in general. I'm trying to buy the Firehouse Headquarters, and it has gone up from 499.99 AUD to 622.21 AUD

I rang customer support, and the lady told me that they are aware of the issue, and should hopefully have it fixed within 24 hours, but in the meantime, I should refrain from confirming my order.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm going to Meadowhall today, hopefully be picking up the Brick bank and the GB firehouse.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Disappointed that there are no special polybags, but impressed that there are so many good sets out there.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oh no... opened, the floodgates have...

Gravatar
By in Germany,

The flaw is probably that they use the danish VAT and not (in my case) the german one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

And only a couple more hours until complete chaos in American stores...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I guess if the price goes down on a really expensive set someone is going to have a really nice day...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm done with LEGO.com for Jan 1st releases! I'm waking in to a LEGO store tomorrow morning and waking out with the Ghostbusters HQ. No headache or squished box for this guy!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Anyone know how long it usually takes for amazon to make them available for purchase in the UK, i've got a £40 voucher just waiting for the moment?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

after adding random set's not one has come up as the advertised price.

this is on the uk shop.

Gravatar
By in United States,

My French AFOL buddies are reporting that Shop @Home is adding the TVA twice! This is what's causing the inflated prices on checkout. Geeze louise!

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

All I'm doing is adding some things in my bag.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

1 what is TVA?

and
2. could the lower price's on some items be a new year sale that is not showing up as on sale?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Agrocasey Running a test for the UK site doesn't inflate near as much, only to 285.90, and the fire station to 85.90,.

On the other hand, 31037 shows slightly LESS than 17.99 (17.15).

Message shown at checkout: "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties due to system maintenance and your order may take up to 24 hours to process. Please note that if your order qualifies for promotions, they will be applied, but will not be shown in the checkout. Express shipping options and payment using VIP rewards are not available during this time. Product availability may be inaccurate during this time. Your order confirmation email may be delayed. We are unable to accept phone orders at this time."

EDIT 7:45 PM PST Check The Germany and France site for 31037 shows 24.19 (RRP 19.99). AUS site shows $37.34 (RRP $29.99). NZ shows 41.57 (RRP 39.99), so even slightly older sets seem to be in a pickle.

EDIT 2: 7:57 PM. Even 2014 sets are priced wrong! 60047 is $207.62 for NZ (RRP 169.99)! (though if I add 10, it goes back to the $170......) 60044 is though actually showing a LOT less (12+ dollars off!) $57.74. Same with the UK (23.83 vs. 29.99 RRP)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

ok if TVA is the French form of VAT, then that not what going on, with the uk shop,
as 2x the Vat for firehouse HQ would be over £300 it is only £10 more then it's RRP

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Isabella and Lego Liker
so it them and there updates?
is it me or is this a stupid time to work on this type of update when you got new items for sale?

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

My shopping cart has been pre-loaded with Temple of Airjitzu and a Mixel. And I can't remove them. Or add anything else. And the prices at checkout are inflated by some random percentage. Beyond mind-boggling....

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's kind of insane just how many issues there are when a new wave of sets are released. Even Amazon is having issues; I just ordered Battle On Takodana and apparently it won't be here until January 6th, when it really should be here by the 3rd or sooner... This kind of stuff just shouldn't be happening, especially on such high-profile releases. If TLG would allow pre-ordering, I'd imagine that it'd mitigate the issue, even if only slightly.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

None of the new sets that I am interested in (OT Star Wars and Batman) are available or even visible on the Canadian site :(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

ok what is it about the "Battle On Takodana" set that has people after it, to me it don't look that good.
not for the price of £49.99 if it was 34.99 maybe but not at 49.99.
it is 12p a part 12p for a stud!!!!! no just no!

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

LEGO.com is the most expensive way of purchasing LEGO, IMHO. There are better discounts available from regular toy stores for newly released sets.

Given that there is always predictable chaos on these release dates, isn't about time that TLG did something about their customer service.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just ordered the new Architecture Sets, the Valentine Days Dog and one City set from NY and there was no problem whatsoever. Much better than last year!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@chrisalddin

For me, it's a matter of seeing the set in the context of the film. Without spoiling anything, the scene(s) that the set depicts are some of my favorites in the movie, so that right there makes the set a must have. It's a pretty good representation of the architecture, coloration, and general feel of the castle in the movie. As far as the actual set itself goes, the figures are excellent, the play features are very nice, and it's not all too often that we get a location-based set in SW.

My only complaint is that the set really should be $50 USD, as was initially reported. The price hike to $60 USD is annoying, to say the least, but it didn't stop me from ordering it/being very excited about it.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@FlagsNZ
true to a point.
1st VIP points.
you get £5 (GBP) or $5 (USD) and in New Zealand it is $7.5 (NZD) for every 100 points you have.
you get 1 point for every £1(GBP)/$1(USD)/1.5(NZD) you spend.
so you have to remember to take that in to account.
2nd free stuff, lego give away free stuff all the time,
i got a free minifig, with my order, it was the winter soldier BTW.

having said all this there are items you can only get from lego shop @home and still save money on them, items like The Kwik-E-Mart,
and when set's are new (like now) them will be full RRP in a local shop, so, lego shop @home with the vip points wins there as well.

so at lest in the uk Lego shop @home, can work out better some of the time.
also i know that there are some USA retail shops that jack up the Lego Prices way over the RRP,

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Nokturn
are i see, that explains it,
btw when was the price hike? before the movie came out or after the movie came out?
if after it is plainly a money grab by Lego,
if before then it wistful hopeing by Lego.
Both of them are not good for Lego's image.
but if it was after the Movie came out it is a punch to the gut. and it is not fare to the fan's of the Movie.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The prices seemed fine on the US site. I ordered the Brick Bank and Infernox Captures the Queen. Both were the correct price (although a lower price for the Brick Bank would have been nice).

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

@chrisalddin
There are stores that discount 20% on most LEGO inc new releases (Dr Who, Ghostbusters, Brick Bank among others). This is better than $7.5 per 100 VIP points = $7.5 per $150 spend = 3.25%.

There is also the other issue of "free shipping" to the antipodes which occurs at NZD $400 which is also the threshold for GST (VAT) payments for imports. LEGO.com makes an extra 15% on NZ purchases because LEGO.com purchases do not include GST but are priced at the same RRP as local NZ stores.

Yes, shopping this way misses out of "free" stuff, but I think I have shown how much "free" actually costs.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@FlagsNZ.
this is as it turns out seems to be a New Zealand thing.
in the UK i know of NO shop that dose 20% off on NEW Releases,
Hell. right now Brick Bank, in the UK Can only be got from Lego Shop @home.
E-bay Don't Count.
Firehouse Headquarters is the same only Lego Shop @home have it.
so this is "The Region Effect"
just as we here in the UK see next to NO lego at 50% off. ( in the past 4 months i have seen only four set's my self at 50% off most of them was Duplo,)
but in the USA, Target, have Sales of 50% off from what i can tell some ware from 2 to 3 times a year, on a good pick of items. ( i worked this out from watching youtube Videos )

"The Region Effect" and lego can be a pain in the back end.,
every Region has it good points and bad points. but having said that your Region may just be all bad for the lego Shop @home,
but it's not bad for all of us.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Again, it varies by country because of different policies and laws. The LEGO.com free shipping threshold is $75 in the USA and many states still do not charge sales taxes on Internet/mail-order purchases, so the savings can be significant on that end by purchasing from LEGO.com rather than a brick-and-mortar store. Unlike in NZ, in the US sales taxes are *added* to the advertised purchase prices - they're calculated as a percentage of retail.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

I have a YouShop address that ships from UK, USA and China to NZ.
https://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/youshop

The US address is in Oregon state which has no sales tax, however US LEGO.com sometimes rejects purchases to this address. I have used the free shipping to UK to get exclusives but often the follow-up shipping is costly. I have discussed this in the Brickset forum:

http://bricksetforum.com/discussion/18106/is-tax-included-in-purchases-from-shop-lego-com

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Still adding about 10% to prices when you checkout on Swiss LEGO.com. Grrr.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I ordered the Ghostbusters HQ as soon as I could last night expecting it to be out of stock this morning.
Despite it saying free shipping it did add £3.95 shipping cost initially although this morning when I checked my account that has now been taken off.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Everything is working just fine in Canada, but since the promotion doesn't interest me, not ordering any sets tonight. Good thing I recently stocked up on some older sets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just ordered the Corner Deli through Lego.com UK shop and the price increased from the advertised £27.99. I used my VIP points to knock it back down to just under £27.99 and paid it.

Then, in the Order Status screen on Lego.com, I can see that the Order Summary is correct - the item is £27.99 and my discount is then applied... bringing the total cost (after delivery charges and VIP discount) to £26.94... which is correct.

So it's odd that I had to agree to paying extra... i wonder how much i actually paid!?! :D

Gravatar
By in Poland,

After problems it is working now and in my order prices back to normal. Everything OK now.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Too bad there doesn't seem to be a matching polybag for the Brick Bank. Ah well, that means I don't need to order it today.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Successfully ordered Brick Bank and a few other bits on Lego UK after trying for hours. Seems to be working ok now.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

One nitpick, it looks like the Nexo Knights bonus intro pack is only working for US orders right now...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Does anyone know if there are any January promos?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Having wrestled with the (what is becoming 'the usual New Year') LEGO.com experience last night, I didn't notice, between the constant need for page refreshes and fireworks that my order seems to have come to far too much! My thanks to you guys here - I might not have picked up on it until much later had I not seen the comments here. While this may make for a prosperous new year for Lego, it's not started mine off too well. Am starting to see why so many customer service people were needed on the Inside Lego programme!!Now adding to my frustration is the inability to use an @ in the customer service text box when talking about the LEGO.com service with an 'at' symbol in its name!!Jeeez....

Gravatar
By in Canada,

This is an ampersand & :p

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

Must resist, must wait for double VIP in April :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Yep! Realised that after I'd walked away from the computer. Doh!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Yep me too - Wait for Double points - Got Lego giftcards for Christmas - £25 worth of points back on this set if you wait.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

April we 100% it will be double points?
ware are you getting this info from?

BTW UK Shop @home is back to normal

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I was going to wait for the sets to come on Amazon and get them on Prime but doesnt look like they will be up. Does anyone know how good express delivery is on Lego, I dont mind paying £21 as long as I know I will get it quick...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^Olaf is from the 11th. Poe X-Wing is from the 3rd

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That Olaf promo set is nice, is it only a freebie for Disney Princess purchases from the 11th?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Does anyone know if Argos have the new 2016 Star Wars sets in??before I go to my local shop-thanks! :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@bradsayad2014
easy way to find out look them up on the argos webpage, all argos shop's are in real time link to it, if it is "in stock" the webpage will tell you ware it is and you can reserve it.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@bradsayad2014 i've been checking the website all morning and no luck - if you have any luck can you keep us updated? Thanks

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just been in medowhall lego store q all round shop. Lost of gostbuster hq and brick banks going out

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Also new cmf are in and they had full sets for sale

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Als-1971
(full box's think it like 60?) or Full set's of 16?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Target US is selling the 2 larger SW Force Awakens sets for $10 off.

I'm not seeing the carbonate, escape pod, hoth set anywhere in US - were these not January 1st releases?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Going to my 'local' Lego store tomorrow (90 minutes away). Hopefully they have everything in stock. Last year they did not and I got 100 bonus points and a free shipping coupon for shop @home.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Sets of 16

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Here's hoping the instruction pfds are released soon, they were here last year before this time.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Eelesy yeah no problem I hope they come out at least by the end of the weekend
I need to get my hands on the new Star Wars sets ASAP! I'm going to keep on checking and I'll update you if there's any luck :)

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

regardless of working LEGO.com page or not, some prices did go up, like the price for the Scooby Doo mystery machine, which was 11990 HUF last year and not its 12490 HUF (+4%), also Kwik-E Mart used to be lower then the Simpsons house, 61990 HUF and now its at equal price of 69990 HUF, I'd call that a rather significant raise of 11%

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Where are the 3 Star Wars OT sets? :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

The LEGO website isn't working. Must be a day that ends in 'y'. ;)

The price of the keychains went up to $6. $5 was $1-2 too much, but now it's just laughable.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm glad you guys mentioned the problems with the prices, I ordered the Brick bank, Ghostbusters HQ and a couple of other small sets just after midnight (so half asleep) and didn't notice the prices didn't add up (£24.23 over!). I've emailed Lego. Thanks for drawing attention to this.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I had no problems ordering the Ghostbusters Headquarters and Brick Bank sets on the US west coast around 9pm last night (which is 12pm US east coast time, when Lego unlocks new content for the USA). No site slowdowns, no odd price fluctuations, just a normal checkout. Got the bonus Nexo Knights intro pack with each set too. I must've gotten my orders in before the great checkout storm hit.

Either way, hope everyone has a happy New Year and gets all the sets they want!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Uk sale starts midnight so get ready for website meltdown

Gravatar
By in United States,

The best day of the year, we got The Creator Brick Bank and 2 Creator Corner Deli's. wish we could got more but the wallet and VIP are now empty.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A bit of a random question but does anyone know if you get VIP points for money spent on delivery?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Got to Meadowhall just before they closed, got the Brick Bank and Ghostbusters HQ. Apparently I was lucky to get the HQ, they told me I got the last of 2 in stock out of 100 they started with this morning. Don't know how true this is but either way I'm glad I got the sets I wanted.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Lego123Starwars: You only get VIP points on the base price of items in LEGO.com, not on shipping. If you use VIP points on a LEGO.com purchase, you don't get the VIP points you would have gained from the amount you're now saving.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Milton Keynes had run out of GBHQ at 5pm today. Fortunately I only wanted the brick bank and that was still in stock. Guy on tills said it was packed this morning, but I just strolled in and out (after paying) with no queuing. Hope that saves someone a wasted trip to MK tomorrow, or perhaps ring to check if they got any more GBHQs in before you set off.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just tried to browse all the new sets. Shop.Lego.com opened to the first page just fine. But once I tried to click to the second page...or any other type of filter...it just returns to the main home page. Rather frustrating.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Search function doesn't work either. Lots of problems (frequently) on the Shop.Lego.com site.

Gravatar
By in United States,

See guys, this is why I'm waiting to go to the LEGO Store a couple days into the New Year rather than ordering online and dealing with craziness!

Gravatar
By in United States,

It appears that the US LEGO.com site and my region's physical LEGO store failed to receive any of the following:

75135 Obi-Wan's Jedi Interceptor
75138 Hoth Attack
75141 Kanan's Speeder Bike
75142 Homing Spider Droid
75125 Resistance X-Wing Fighter (Microfighter)
75136 Droid Escape Pod
75134 Galactic Empire Battle Pack
75133 Rebel Alliance Battle Pack
75127 The Ghost (Microfighter)
75130 AT-DP (Microfighter)
75128 TIE Advanced Prototype (Microfighter)
75129 Wookiee Gunship (Microfighter)

Rather sucks to be a US-based LEGO Star Wars fan right about now!

The US also doesn't get series 15 minifigures until February 1.

Additionally, my regional brick & mortar received none of the following:

City 60131 Crooks' Island
Friends 41135 Livi's Pop Star House

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Was at Bluewater this morning (10:20am) and the queue was stretching out of the door. They had 90 GBHQs in stock and half had been taken by 10:30. There was still a queue when we passed an hour later, so I don't imagine they have much stock left. Worth calling if you were planning a trip to get one over the weekend.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@rcmadiax:
"Target US is selling the 2 larger SW Force Awakens sets for $10 off. I'm not seeing the carbonate, escape pod, hoth set anywhere in US - were these not January 1st releases?"

Yes I was gonna tell people about the lower prices at Target on those sets. I just picked up Battle on Takodana for $49.99, which is much more of the price it should've been at anyway, or even lower IMO, but equates to 20% off so I couldn't resist. And yes, I called Lego store and they don't have a lot of those Star Wars sets yet, not sure when the US is releasing them, I was bummed thought they'd be Jan 1st release like the rest. I see UK has them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^Maybe there were shipping delays, or not selling them until 2/1???

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

- Oh no, Speed Champions release in - MARCH...?! Bloody Hell. Thats a wait.... ;(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

it's annoying having New Year's Eve off when nothing released then working New Year's Day all way thru to the 8th January when the GbHq will probably be sold out like Slave 1 was last year grr!Hopefully the Brighton store will still have stock!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

All good to go to a LEGO store...if you have them! Don't have that luxury!

Prices fixed, but now the checkout button continually just goes to 'page not found'.

Seriously, for a multi-billion dollar company, it really is a joke the way this happens...again, and again, and again...

Gravatar
By in Germany,

More craziness: sale in Germany started. Prices in basket seem right so far (did not order yet), but search is broken (even more than usual): if I enter "Arktis", I get a page saying "showing 1-12 of 12 results" containjng 6 items, only 4 of which are article related, with the base camp on top for the original price even although it is 30% off.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I got to Meadowhall first thing at opening... large crowd outside... managed to get the Firehouse HQ, Modular Bank and some of the new architecture sets despite the crowd and huge queue at the till. Had no idea Lego stores took reservations on sets, will remember that for next time >_<

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

You would think this stuff was going to disappear forever if its not bought today the way some of you talk about it. If you can't get the sets now, wait a fortnight. The further you get from Christmas the more plentiful everything will be. The behaviour of people in the early hours of the New Year was utterly staggering, I genuinely felt ashamed.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

^ b-b-but it's only NEW for so long!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I have no LEGO Store near me. Closest one is almost a 2 hour drive downtown Toronto. Luckily, I have Toys R Us and Mastermind close by.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Meadowhall closed at 5pm and I got there at about 4:58 after being diverted because of an accident on the M1 at Leeds. I had no idea the GBHQ would be in such high demand, I thought it might be popular but not so much so that people were queuing outside the store to get one. I walked in, picked up the last of 2 and the Brick bank, straight to the till, no queue, paid and out again. It was the lady at the checkout who told me I was lucky to get one after the rush in the morning. I know that it's a brand new set and there will be plenty stock soon enough but there is a bit of satisfaction to be had for being one of the first to get it especially being such a sought after set!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Went to the LEGO Store at Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton about three hours after it opened... the Star Wars section was completely cleaned out. The Brick Bank was selling like hotcakes but there seemed to be plenty of stock, as the staff would refill the shelf slots as fast as it was emptied. Less interest in the Ghostbusters Firehouse, but I did see a few sell, and there didn't appear to be any stock issues. Also picked up the Ferry and the Rally Car :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Went at 10 am as soon as the store opened and secured myself a Ghostbusters headquarters, brick bank, and a few superhero sets for hubby. When I went in there were only 2 gbhq left. That's crazy.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@chrisaw
Got a newsletter from Lego store. Olaf promotion is for ANY purchases from the 11th over £25. Poe X-Wing is from tomorrow (3rd Jan) with STAR WARS purchases over £50.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Takodana and Troop Transport are on Amazon UK, but under the names Star Wars Confidential 1 & 2 and estimated ship date of three weeks :(. Can find nothing on the Argos website. Anyone in the UK had any luck at any shops which arent the lego store (i live too far away from one)?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@spicypig Thank you! I think Australia usually goes by the same promos as the UK/Europe, so I might just wait until then.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Went to the Lego Store today (only 12 minutes walk from my apartment), got everything I wanted. Great feeling.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

All of the 2016 instruction pfd's are available on LEGO's customer service site! Misfortunes Keep has a very interesting build. Too bad its released in March for North America... :/

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Adambrick123
I never knew you reserve at a Lego store either! Yes, that's definitely good to know, thanks :)
But to my shame, I walked right by the Shepherd's Bush store today and didn't pop in :-O

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Have tried multiple devices...desktop PC, MacBook, iPad...all still show 'page not found' when trying to checkout... :(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Unfortunately there seems to be a problem on Legos website, whenever you try to download instructions it comes up with an internal server error, is this happening for everybody else?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I drove 1.45 hrs to get to the store at Oberhausen. I got therr just after it opened. There were two queues that went through the entire shop that stayed long until about 11am. I was in the queue for about 30 minutes and I really loved seeing the excited faces of usually white men roughly 30+ walking away with twombig bags: one with GB HQ and one with the Brick Bank.

I was fortunate enough to get both as well but the poor bloke next to me was told he had come back later in the afternoon when stocks would be replenished...

The Creator Deli was unfortunately sold out so that was my only disappointment...

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Wondering if anyone else in Australia is having the same problems as me...it's now 10am Monday 4th January and I still can't buy anything from lego.com. Every time I click checkout, it gives me a 'page not found' error.
