BIONICLE: The Journey to One trailer and poster revealed

Posted by ,

The Journey to One, a new original series based on the BIONICLE reboot, is coming to Netflix on March 4th; a week from now! The first two half-hour episodes will appear then, while the other two will come in July.

"The new storyline takes place on the mythical island of Okoto, where the forces of darkness are on the move and the evil Makuta is working to cast the world into darkness. The desperate island inhabitants enlist six heroes - called the Toa - to help save their beloved island. Only when the heroes are united, will they be able to battle the forces of evil, defeat Makuta and save Okoto."

We've shown you the character videos, but read after the break for a larger version of the official poster (above) and the trailer!

The trailer shows voices and the gorgeous animation:

Can't wait to watch! Can you?

Maybe it's just me, but when the time of the Toa Metru was the turning point when Bionicle was no longer Bionicle. It started out that their masks gave them powers, and they had to collect different masks and ya, the metru had their disks which could be made into masks, everything after that didn't really have collectible masks. I mean the story was good for a bit, but I think they've completely missed their mark for the original target audience...maybe its just me?

^^ You'll be happy to know that the reboot has definitely gone back to the theme's roots quite a bit.

Wow. Looking forward to this, but will it be aired in the UK?

^ Can be aired everywhere, it just depends on if people have Netflix or not.

The voices sound really shallow and watered down. Like they're coming through a really low quality speaker.

Gorgeous animation? That looks terrible to me. All those outlines make it look so weird and distracting, and it doesn't seem to be mixing well with the 2D environments. Of course, maybe it's just the trailer, but this show looks really disappointing.

The voicing also sounds dumb, but of course, context is lacking in the trailer. The sound quality is terrible. I wonder if it's the trailer, or if they added that awful filter on their voices to make them sound robot-like. I'm sensing another un-mentionable LEGO flop like Gladador here.

I wish the creatures actually had lower jaws like in that image. They look so incomplete as it is.

I thought that the animation with the 2D and 3D works just fine, and the art style fits well. You can easily tell what's going on, which characters are which, and everything flows smoothly. The voices make sense in my opinion being more robotic, they may not have wanted to make it so the masks move with mouths in the past BIONICLE movies.
