I think I could be swayed to buy one. I wasn't interested originally but it's definitely growing on me!
Intriguing! I don't know if I would pay $70 for it, but it looks really cool.
Not for me. Would have to see a parts break down, and then maybe I would buy one on a very deep discount.
For this price I would expect two alternative mazes... Now I'm not sure - to buy or not to buy?
^ There are two!
Not having a round ball seems a MAJOR flaw! The whole point is that its supposed to challenge your skill, how can it do that if the ball has dents and can even get stuck on a dent and not be able to be moved?!?
70 bucks? Nope nope nope nope nope.
No holes for the ball to fall through = no sale. To me, that is just such a failure in the design.
I like that customisability!
I will definitely buy it next month. It should have two regular baseplates for that price though.
And what does a Brickset team think?
@TheBrickPal
Well, for me the first one (this "normal") doesn't count as an alternative. It is part of the basic construction.
Wow, loads of moaners on here. I think it looks great - definitely planning on getting it.
769 parts $69 seems pretty fair. Looks like a fun desk toy I think I'll have to get it
I hate it when they use gears as nobs. (Had to get that out)
but what LEGO Ideas project does this set reffer to?
By the way - any ideas when we get results of last Ideas review?

can't wait to get my hands on this one, been waiting a long time for it! very excited now. (will be changing the knobs though, original had it right)
EDIT: just checked and I supported this thing way back in 2013, talk about in it for the long haul.
Cool! Probably going to get this!
Parsom- The results were supposed to come out in January, but it's taking a while.
I'd like to get this if it gets discounted - it'd be fun to build something like that, and the parts look useful for my inventory...
Perhaps I'm reading this too soon after waking up, but, without a ball drop, how do you "win"?
Wow looks AWESOME!!!!!!
@Paperballpark I'm afraid it's always thus. In common with many other fans of just about anything else, Lego fans like nothing better than to moan at any new release.
I love this guys (JKBrickworks) projects and follow his blog posts. I think I would be more inclined to get his up and coming project the Particle Accelerator) in the achieved support stage). Don't get me wrong its a cool toy but I don't think I would play with it much as a toy and as a Lego model it doesn't appeal to me much standing on the shelf. Will wait to see it in person.
Trying to muster up excitement aaand.... nope. Still not interested.
The Particle Accelerator seems extremely boring and bland. All it does is spin a ball around, and which could fling off and hit a kid's eye or something, who knows what LEGO'd think.
Im excited to hear about the next Ideas results, it's DRIVING me crazy!
Looks cool, but not worth 70$.
I would like to see another projects of this guy (JK Brickworks) in Ideas - mostly Sisyphus. Or orrery. Or even skating penguin.
Kind of clever. Won't fly with me for $70.
One of the most creative ways to use LEGO. However, isn't this set a little pricey?
I think $70 is a rather fair price, considering price per pieces is better than average. and that it caries a respectable 1kg weight when finished (there is still more weight counting the pieces needed to build the alternate board) so as far as parts value it's a great set. the subject matter is a little more Niche but that I think was expected. in my eye it is fun elegant and well priced for what you are getting. add to the easy customization factor for unique games and its a home run for me.
Super excited that this is coming out soon! I'll be posting my own video review soon. It won't be biased at all. :)
I'm looking forward to getting the instructions for this set. Not nearly interested enough to spend $70 on it, but will certainly try to build one from parts I already have on hand.
^^This, and bricklinking your Sisyphus project in the future, are going to cost me a lot of money. Shame on you!
The set interests me a little from a mechanical point of view, but far more exciting I think I see 1x3 tan tiles in there!
This set looks shrecktastic!!!! I LOVE IT!!! The Medieval maze modifications really disappoint me from what the original design looks like. Still, Lego Ideas did a great job modifying the Lego Labyrinth maze. I wish they could of done the space themed and underwater themed maze. This set is a little lame without those things. Whatever, I am still going to get this set anyways because it is still kind of awesome.
