New book to come with Pirate Batman minifigure

Posted by ,

The minifig that'll be mounted on the cover of DK's forthcoming book DC Comics Super Heroes Character Encyclopedia was revealed yesterday on DK's website.

It's Batman in a pirate suit which apparently has appeared in the LEGO Justice League: Cosmic Clash film.

The book is published at the beginning of April and can be pre-ordered from Amazon: USA ($14.24) | UK (£14.99)

By in United Kingdom,

I think they're running out of ideas... Looks good, though.

Pirate Batman/Leatherwing appeared in an 'Elseworlds' DC Comic in the 90's. It's a fun figure, and something that would never have be produced for a set. A whole lot better than that zombie thing from the Star Wars book.

Pirate Batman? I'm onboard.

Is this the first character encyclopedia DK has released for DC super heroes?

It's a damn shame they didn't give us a Dick Grayson Batman instead.

This will make my son's year! Obsessed with Batman and pirates, and released just before his birthday! Result. Love the figure personally.

Sheesh, it just hit me. Know what would have been great in this? A 1938-style Superman with dual-molded legs.

I'll still get it, but as fantastic as Pirate Batman looks, he has limited utility compared to other characters who could have gone in here.

I wonder when we'll get Saturn Girl?

Another one for my Batman collection. This is cool.

How about Batman Beyond? That would have been better.

I'm not totally sure why I want this, but I do.

Awesome, next I would like to see a "Gotham By Gaslight" Batman figure. One of my favorite books, Batman vs. Jack the Ripper!

Batman Beyond would require a new headpiece, and to get really accurate, sculpted wings. Book figures never use new parts, just new colors or prints.

Pretty cool, but I would always prefer to see a character that has not yet been made.

that looks awesome!! Lego Pirate batman really makes no sense. Whatever, the book is going to be awesome anyways. I wish the mini figure was like Mad hatter, Clayface, or Hush.

List of better Batman figs they could've made instead:

- Post-Apocalyptic Knightmare Batman from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
- Terry McGinnis Batman from Batman Beyond
- 1939 Batman from Detective Comics 27 (First appearance of the character)
