Brickset featured on the Star Wars Collectors Cast

Posted by ,

Star Wars fans may be familiar with Jedi News, the leading European Star Wars fan website run by a brilliant team of Star Wars fans and headed by collector-extraordinaire James Burns. The site is brimming with content and hosts a number of weekly and monthly podcasts discussing all aspects of Star Wars and its fans.

James kindly invited me to join him on the Star Wars Collectors Cast earlier this week and you can listen to the podcast, in which we discuss the latest LEGO Star Wars releases, news from the Toy Fairs and recent developments on Brickset, by following this link.

Read on for a taste of what to expect...

Join James Burns on March’s edition of the Star Wars Collectors Cast where he’s joined by Steve Sansweet from Rancho Obi-Wan and Chris Pearce from Brickset.com and Bricks Magazine. Steve discusses his recent Disney Cruise trip, Star Wars Day on-board and Star Wars Launch Bay at Walt Disney World. Chris and James discuss the latest collecting news and what they think of the new LEGO Star Wars sets coming in 2016. Also, listen out for a LEGO related announcement regarding Jedi News too.

All this and more on the latest Star Wars Collectors Cast.

A Brickset Podcast seems like a fun idea! I'd listen to it. ^_^

Yes! And you could discuss popular forum topics, or bring up models in the forum that caught your eye. That could bring in more involvement to the forums as well.

Chris, Hey it was it was great hearing your take on LEGO line of recently released sets along with your interest in Star Wars Collectables. Regarding a LEGO podcast I think its a great idea. With the wide range of contributors to Brickset covering nearly all of the lines (minus Duplo) from multiple corners of the world would be cool. I could imagine listening to the team talking about your trip to the Toy Fair. I vote give it a try, next thing you know you'll be doing a video podcast.

I really enjoyed this look. Chris is very natural on the microphone.

Having helped record and produce my own and others podcasts. If Brickset went down that route it would not be easy. You would have to commit to recording it at a set time and ensure it came out when people expect it to. Otherwise people turn off. You need to spend time editing it (which is the most time consuming thing). Good sound quality is a must as well these days. That can be expensive if you look at the higher end audio recorders and Microphones. And the biggest killer is finding the space to host it - this only goes up as you record more and then to make sure this is linked to all the podcast sites and iTunes . If you do this badly it will sink the cast before it has even started.
