Elephant Adventure on LEGO Ideas
Posted by Huw,
If, like me, you're a fan of brick-built animals this LEGO Ideas project is worthy of your support.
It's been submitted by Tim Goddard, aka Rogue Bantha on flickr, who's best known for his space creations and for co-authoring LEGO Space: Building the Future. However, as you can see, he's a dab hand at animals too.
The project comprises two elephants, adult and baby, a tree with vulture perched on top and a camerawoman. You can see more photos after the break: take a look, then head on over LEGO Ideas to pledge your support.

Supported! Those elephants are awesome.
Cool, :)
Brick built elephants? Supported!
It's a great project, but can we get back to having the multi project posts instead of these singular focus ideas promotions?
What's that piece on the bottom of the camera tripod?
I like it!
Supported!
@LegoAthos
Isn't it one of those weird new Ninjago shuriken centers?
^Yes it is. A very nice parts usage if you ask me.
@BrianG2402 Yes they were used in the Deepstone blades in the Possession series/wave of Ninjago.
@Umbra-Manis, happy to post one if you'd like to write it.
Supported! The Brickish Ideas domination continues!
Finally!! Something not licensed OR a vehicle!
More articles like this but with more entries.
Good luck Tim!
All the non-AFOLs I've showed this to have loved it -- I think it would be a successful official set. Great work!
The elephants are great but the camera is what really impressed me. So cool!
^ I agree: the camera is great. I like the tree and vulture as well.
I would like to see a return to the Ideas summaries that used to appear a while ago that contained the projects that were gathering support or worthy of consideration.
I really like a lot about this one. One thing I'd like to see to redeem Ideas is smaller sets, and I feel like this would be a great one for that. I can't tell how many pieces it would be but it looks like a perfectly under $20 set, that I think the broad appeal and affordable price would draw people in.
I don't have much faith in the Ideas platform anymore, but I'd always be happy to see it turn around and get better.
@ DanRSL, I agree with you: this project is that rarest of IDEAS: a realistically desirable, buildable, affordable set. On seeing the photos, I instantly imagined the completed object on my desk, with behind it the empty box and a receipt for £20, while I dithered about whether a log-cabin and an elk (set 31048) would look right in the Serengeti.
Huw, If you presented more articles about realistic projects such as this, then maybe enough FOLs would be able to change the IDEAS culture from its current poorly-policed shambolic state.
Already supported bc it is great! :-)
