April Fool's!

Posted by ,

You might have noticed a couple of dubious articles which we posted on the homepage yesterday for April Fools Day.

Other LEGO websites were also busy yesterday, pulling the following pranks:

Are there any which I have missed?

I know this is all a bit of fun, but do we really need so many?
It is beginning to make April first a hard day to scan the lego forums, for news we actually need to hear.
Maybe Brickset could take a break from this pranking next year? Then in 2018 you might catch a few more people out?

Ideas Revisited doesn't sound that bad of an idea...

Haha, the white x-wing is free with a $199 Lego Star Wars purchase.

When I read about Lego Ideas Revisited, I thought, "GREAT!!! Another chance for more stupid licensed sets!"

The worst april fool I got is the change for new Paris LesHalles LEGO Store opening date from 5th to 6th april, 2016. I've booked flight, hostel, etc, for nothing... Many thanks!

The review of those sets mashed up together got me at first u till I read some comments and saw with more attention the article pictures. IDEAS Revisited doesn't sound like a bad one sadly, that new May the Fourth offer (the First Order StormTropper) had to be one of the worst offerings to date.

No mention of brickipedia's hilarious article on LEGO being communist?

I'll wait for the AutoSort 3000, which not only sorts but assembles the sets :)

The Eurobricks joke was not funny. I was quite amused by the ghost x-wing and Ideas Revisited, though.

The LEGO IS COMMUNIST article was hysterically funny, I practically fell out of my chair when they cited the evidence of the map master guy "bearing an uncanny resemblance to Joseph Stalin."

Perhaps it's just my type of humour but I found almost everything on the web on 1st April pretty much useless or humourless, except the Battle on Hoth satire on here which I thought was actually pretty funny!

By in Viet Nam,

the LEGO IS COMMUNIST one from brickipedia is really offensive to me :/

I am sickened and appalled that all of these websites would stoop so low. You can't honestly expect me, a serious and mature adult, to visit websites about a children's toy and bombard me with lightheartedness or humour.

Dude calm down, if you are that offended then don't go the brickset anymore.

Talk about cold-hearted...

I didn't get online much that day so I only caught the Korean language one on Eurobricks. But it does seem like a lot of "jokes" that day.

So is the May the Fourth figure a joke too, or is it really that terrible?

By in United Kingdom,

^ No, it really is pretty much a figure from a battle pack... with a backpack
