Posted by TheBrickPal,
The world may be in Star Wars Day and 75098 Assault on Hoth mode right now, but let's not forget the other big LEGO release of the month of May 2016!
71012 LEGO Minifigures - The Disney Series is now officially available at shop.LEGO.com worldwide and in brand stores, even though they have been spotted early at Target locations for a few weeks now.
I will have my review ready soon! While you wait, check out my evaluation of LEGO Disney history up to now.

Sold out! :(
Dang, it must be extremely popular. I hope LEGO makes a Disney Series 2. I'm glad my Walmart got it early.
Got my Disney minifigs in WHSmiths today. I was lucky and found all the ones I wanted quite easily. The hairpieces for Ariel and Alice are great, and Ursula's base is really good. I also have Mickey, Maleficent and the Cheshire Cat.
Just a little disappointed they went with flesh colours instead of the classic yellow of minifigs, but I'm not surprised.
Got mine from Whsmiths too
Bought all 30 packs!
Managed to get 17/18 of the set just missing maleficent :(
I love how many custom molded pieces there are in this series. No skimping or too much recycling of existing pieces, but new bespoke pieces.
I was at my local LEGO store less than two hours after it opened; they had almost sold out. The staff told me they'd received eight boxes for today and had a line of almost 100 people when the store opened.
I got a case this morning from a smaller toy store. Still sealed in the packing box.
Got a set in the mail from our local online LEGO supplier, should be here in a day or two.
Looking forward to checking them out :)
Target does not seem to be carrying it yet - at least my local target did not. Found a box at local walmart.
I managed to put together three complete sets about 10 days ago from visiting various Target stores and asking nicely!
My favorite is the Maleficent minifig.
They are sold out on LEGO.com! They are being recalled!!!!
Sold out on Canada Lego Shop. That's the shortest set life span I've ever seen!
Too many stores keep collectable minifigs behind the counter, it's a real pain getting minifigs I want. Some stores just pack them in threes and sell those, which is also a huge annoyance.
Rocket, they will be back in a few days, my guess is May 5th (free shipping will be over). Shortest lifespan for a set is the female science lab Ideas set that was available for maybe 4 hours.
Anyone found them in UK shops, other than brand stores yet?
@Huw, Yes, I got the ones I wanted from WHS yesterday (as have others in this thread). They only had one box but hadn't sold many by the time I got there a few hours after they opened.
The minifigures are very easy to identify tactilely and the staff at WHS didn't mind that I was feeling packets.
I checked TRU yesterday as well but they didn't have them.
My local Toymaster has had these in for over a week, even more useful is they sort them so you just ask for whichever figure you wish to buy! They do this for all minifigures!
@geckostocks, When you say that Toymaster sort them for you, do you mean that they open the packets to know with certainty what's inside or that they don't open them and use some other identification method? If the latter, I would make it very clear when buying from them that getting the specific minifigure(s) you want is a condition of the sale. Otherwise, if they make a mistake of misidentifying a minifigure, you don't have much recourse.
No they touch them up rather than open them - been buying from them for ages and never had a mistaken minifigure, I know someone who had one and they changed without issue - it's even better when they have a scheme - buy five get one free.
Interesting that 8 of the 16 do not come with any "accessories" . . .
^ 8 out of 18!
Thanks, I saw them in John Lewis and WHS in Southampton today, but didn't buy any.
My local independent storekeeper told me that LEGO cancelled his order for them as there was not enough to go round.
Just got 2 from waterstnes
Advice for UK buyers
WHSmiths give out a £5 off voucher with every transaction (min £20 spend)
Buy minifigs in 9 then each will cost you £1.93 (£17.49 total) just repeat the process with the new voucher
Excellent for bulk buyers saved me £15!
Good problem for LEGO to have, bad problem for collectors to have. Sold out in less than 24 hours? Come On LEGO! Give us the goods!
Ridiculous that they're selling out so quickly! I'm just hoping for the Incredibles ones!
Was at toys r us in Edmonton a few days ago and they literally unpacked them in front of my eyes. Grabbed two, got Minnie and Alice. Exceptionally well done. The new plastic skirt piece is awesome.
Definitely planning to get the villains. Ursula looks amazing.
I found a box in my local (medium sized) Sainsburys - £2.50 each though so they hadn't accidentally applied the £1 of the S15 figures!
Haven't opened them yet but fairly confident I got a set of 18. Mickey was the hardest to find!
WH Smith's was the only store that had them today, and they only had about 10 left from a single box. Nothing in TRU, The Entertainer or any of the Supermarkets I visited today. Picked up a random 4 but now wishing I had gone back with my £5 voucher.
Checked local K-mart today, two empty display boxes. I guess they're popular.
John Lewis and Smyths have had them for a few days now.
Hi,
I had luck at Legoland Billund yesterday to buy a full box.....
wondering about Peter Pan! On the pictures the knife shows in silver color....in the bag i found in gold color. Is that normal?
Found about twenty left at toys r us in salt lake. Was able to get 12 of the 18 figures. Also checked 3 targets and 2 walmarts and they all had empty display cases or none at all.
Bought 5 at my local Lego store. Got Peter Pan and four Mr Incredibles. lol
Got a full set at my LEGO store today. They only let you buy 18 at a time so I'm going back for the second set.
18/18 from Toys r Us
I used my "feeling powers" at a local Target and all that was left was:
Donald Duck: 0
Daisy: 1
Micky: 1
Minnie: 0
Peter Pan: 2
Captain Hook: 4
Stitch: 3
Maleficent: 0
Aladdin: 2
Genie: 3
Buzz: 0
Alien: 1
M. Incredible: 3
Syndrome: 2
Ursala: 1
Ariel: 0
Cheshire Cat: 0
Alice: 0
And a few others I knew weren't ones I wqnted, but didn't check for sure to see who exactly they were.
That should show you how popular they are, somewhat. Unfortunately they had none of the ones I especially wanted...
Is it correct that they made 18 new pieces for this series? Not counting capes?
Managed to get all 18 at a TRU here in Canada. I saw 3 boxes in total in the store, one in the Lego department and 2 by the cashiers.
Out of Stock at most places! wow that was fast
I stopped at my local Wal-Mart (extreme rural Pittsburgh) yesterday morning before heading to work because I needed some Velcro for work and grabbed five of these quickly. They had two nearly filled boxes out. After reading the comments near, I raced back up later last night, and they still had two nearly filled boxes. I got the last thirteen without a problem and helped two kids find the figures they wanted (feel free to nominate me for humanitarian of the year...).
I managed to get a complete box in the local toy store on the 1st of May about two hours after the store had opened. And as an extra bonus I got a 48% discount :)
Interesting to hear how helpful Toymaster employees were in some branches.
In Derby (MIDCO Toy Planet) I saw the open box of figs in front of the counter and started grabbing and feeling bags. Staff member said "We have a box just for feeling if you are trying to find certain ones" Me "That's new. Well I want a full set and this box is already open, can't I just carry on?" Her "No, we are keeping those boxes for people who want to buy whole boxes (It was already open?). You have to use this one (shows me ragged box with about 10 packs in that has clearly been raked through several times)" I grabbed that box anyway and started picking up bags. Her "No, You cant feel them there, you need to move over here (points at space 3 feet further along the same counter in clearly empty store, 20 mins before they close)" I say OK and move to exact spot she showed me, start picking out bags. Her "No, you need to move here, out of the way" At which point I handed her the box back and politely told her I would spend £45 at another store who actually wanted my money.
Surely you make money by making sales, not making it more difficult to spend? Also, I believe their sales plan of 6 sealed boxes at £150 each may be a bit optimistic seeing as I am the only AFOL I know of in my city and I'm not buying one from them now! They must know some scalpers will be in. Will get mine at Smyths Toys and WH Smiths from here on.
I picked up a few at Smyths Toys in the UK today - the racks looked full and untouched, maybe not so many other AFOLs in my area!
