Minifigures Series 16 officially revealed
Posted by TheBrickPal,
The entire sixteenth wave of Collectable Minifigures has finally been revealed by LEGO on Facebook... even though they have already begun to appear in shops and we saw them leaked a few months back! Better late than never, I guess.
We have added all of the individual minifig photos to the database, where you can look over every little detail.
Who's your favorite?

Why didn't they do this as soon as they surfaced in the shops? They've already been reviewed, for crying out loud...
^ Ridiculous, I know.
The hiker is splendid. I like also the new dog.
Love the Cyborg and ranger-looking guy.
i love almost all these minifigs, but my favs are the babysitter, arctic explorer, banana suit guy and the penguin suit guy, as well as the mariachi band guy.
Not as impressed with this series as with 15. I quite like the rogue, the imp and the female kick boxer, but that's about it. Really disappointed with the banana guy.
How about that cyborg? Loving the chest armor piece!
Love it! I'll probably get several of banana guy, maybe a whole bunch.
The photographer with the penguin its cool (mostly the penguin), the rogue, the cyborg and climber are also my favorite.
The Mariachi Guy is my favorite (by far), then Dog Show Guy, Baby Sitter, Hiker, and Pirate. I think I was more excited for Series 15, though. I buy these for my LEGO town (Cityville), so the Rouge, Cyborg, Ice Queen, and Desert Knight aren't all that appealing to me. The Pirate would normally fall into that category as well, but his parts are great: skull cap, tattooed arm, and shorts will come in handy in town (or at the beach).
My brother and I have already completed our set and acquired a few more of our favorites for town. At this point, we're just trying to hoard as many Mariachis as we can and might pick up one or two more of a select few. Can't wait to start thinking about Series 17.
@PicnicBasketSam
Maybe they hadn't actually written the press release before the sets went on sale?!? ;-)
I picked up 20 of them at my local TRU today....they are getting really cool and intricate with the minifigs and designs but wow these feel extra cheaply made
They all look great! The Rogue, Arabian knight, Serenader and Scallywag pirate are must-haves for me, and so are the hiker and baby sitter. But any of those figures, except for Banana man, would fit in my collection. Although i wonder why there is always a fig in every series who lacks accesories, like Shark suit guy in series 15 and now Banana man. He just looks odd, but that´s maybe purpose...
Will the UK release date be sooner than September?
I love that banana man (used to work at Jamba Juice as a young man, and had to wear the banana suit a couple times, so it speaks to me) thought i might have to Brasso off the BANANA! print on there.... that's terrible.
Serenader is my other must-have. So awesome.
First series in a while that I want a complete set of...so much to love.
Hoping to pick up a few Rogues and Cyborgs.
I like the new/recolored hair elements in this series, especially the Dog Owner's hair. It looks especially pleasing on a Legolas head, and I've tried my hand at making a minifigure that looks a bit like Ozymandias from Watchmen.
Does anyone know the specific reference for the words "Greeble Trail" on the Hiker's map? I'm aware of the use of the word Greeble to mean fine detailing added to the surface of an object to make it appear more complex & detailed (which would be applicable for Lego structures) but I'm not aware of a more specific reference.
I like the imp, spooky boy and the serenader. The hiker has some nice printed tiles! Overall another nice collection. Can't find them here locally yet. Are they available in Canada yet?
I love the acoustic guitar for the Serenader, the dog for the Dog Show guy, and the penguin with the wildlife expert. A few from this series get a *meh* from me though.
banana!!!
Devil. What else. The tail and wings are perfect.
That pug on the girls shirt makes me hope for a lego pug soon! I would buy all the lego pugs to build a lego pug army!
The Pirate's map: The X is just about here:
Google maps: http://bit.ly/2aoxyDR
There are a few ideas about why this place in Denmark is on the map, lige it's where the danish AFOL group started out, and a few other ideas, but I guess we have to ask the designer at some point.. ;-)
Love them!
@somnbrik Set 41112 comes with a pug. Unless you aren't counting the Friends animals, but that one isn't extra cutsie IMO.
These look really great for the most part! The two things that stand out to me in the positive is that the upcoming LEGO Bat Man Movie may feature a penguin with actual molded penguins and not the weird brick built ones that have been in use for the last 10 years! The other thing is that the spy has a new variant of the Alpha Team logo (I can only hope and pray with great excitement that means there's going to be an Alpha Team reboot! If so I can hardly Wait!!! :) yay!!!) and a new hair piece with a place to attach a visor onto it making it very useful! P.S. I found this picture of the upcoming LEGO rouge one action figures... http://www.starwars-universe.com/actu-12410-spoiler-lego-premiers-visuels-de-sets-rogue-one.html
Jang's review was excellent. The hiker is the all around best figure with the prints, dual molded parts and double sides head.
Revealed? I bought my set a week ago?
@Bricklunch: that's exactly what it's a reference to; 'greebling' is a term often used in the MOC community to refer to the liberal use of small parts to make a surface full of detail.
I was eager too and saw an image of the bag months ago :D
My favorite would be the Ice Queen because my favorite fairy tale is that of Hans Christian Anderson's Snow Queen. I am glad she has been brought to Lego form and it has done her justice. She now will reign down her frostiness and cast an eternal winter upon the people of Lego Land. Mahahahaha!!!
I want almost all of these, really good series. I wish I was good at feeling the bags so I could snag what I want, but with so many I want just getting a bunch probably won't leave me disappointed.
In stores, maybe for some. Target and shopko here in Iowa are terrible at getting the newest series out because they want to sell the older ones first. The closest Toys r us is an hour away. So Though some of you were fortunate enough to start buying the figures from series 16. The rest of us were waiting patiently and also snooping other websites. But the point is just be polite, there is no need for rudeness. If you have a complaint to Brickset then file a report. Don't act juvenile in your comments here. People want to share their excitement.
Ninja/archer definitely!!
Hiker is the surprise favorite for me with two useful face expressions, very nice printing on the body, a great new orienteering compass tile, and new dual-molded backpack. Also a fan of the Babysitter for the new color (and print) of baby and the hairpiece, plus Banana Man, which has an unexpectedly realistic uh... suit... and very useful set of "Deal With It" shades.
I have not gotten any yet, but my three favorite are:
1. Babysitter with Baby
2. Hiker
3.Dog Show Winner
@LuLego, There is no state with the abbreviation UK. Did you mean OK, i.e. Oklahoma? {/sarcasm}
Seriously, some Ebay UK sellers are offering delivery on 1 August suggesting that that is the revised UK release date. On the other hand, I haven't seen that officially confirmed. I believe Argos is still saying 1 September and WHS branches haven't yet received any S16 marketing collateral which they should have by now if the 1 August street date were right.
The Banana Guy isn't my favorite, but I really like his legs, torso, and head. They're good, new/rare pieces to expand your City population, since you can put about anything underneath the banana suit and it'll still make sense.
I'm happy that it seems like most of them are liked fairly evenly across the comments here. It might make getting the ones I like the best a tad easier.
They were posted on lego.com as well over the weekend, at least that was the first time I noticed they were available at LEGO.com
As a guitarist, I'm digging that acoustic from the mariachi band guy.
Can't wait to collect them. The cyborg minifig looks really cool.. Also the penguin and new dog are nice.
Great series! :)
In my view, for those nostalgic from, mostly the Hobbit but also LOTR, that Rogue figure could be use to build an army of Forest elves, just sayin'... :)
I like the spy and the rogue dude! The new hairpiece looks awesome
I like quite a few of them actually. My favorites would be the Mariachi guy, Babysitter, Hiker, Dog show guy, Imp, and the Polar explorer girl with penguin.
I wonder when they will go on sale here. Local Lego store doesn't know an official release date for Germany yet. And LEGO.com shows page not found for all regions apart from US and Canada.
Oh man, I need at least six of them!
The tourist, archer, pinguin, agent, female boxer, and polar girl. Maybe mexican too!
Wonderful to have a terrier-type dog that is equally at home in a City or a Friends layout! If I were buying them individually I might skip a few--I don't really need a female boxer, goth boy, pirate, or cyborg--but I'm happy to try and buy a complete set rather than go through the bother of feeling for the ones I want. Delighted to have a dog show judge--not something I'd ever expected Lego to make!
I like 'em, I think they're gorgeous.
And I love that there's a penguin-costume, and an actual penguin.
I really like the Rogue, I'll probably get a few of him.. the Babysitter is awesome, $4 for a figure + a new baby figure? Totally. Not super interested in anything else, though there are several neat figures.
I think my favorite is the mariachi. The guitar is really cool!
Nice nod to the wolfpack with that Rogue figure. I want one!
I want a t-shirt with the hiker on in, to wear when I go camping.
My favourite would be the Rogue. Reminds me of a certain character from a computer game which will also hit the cinemas in December.
The dog looks like Snowy in the Tintin comics. Have to get him too...
@Starik20X7: Thanks for that. Makes sense. I though it must have been used in that context but had wondered if the phrase 'Greebe Trail' was a combination of words that was already in use. Guessing Lego have made it up themselves.
The dog show winner's hair is the perfect style for a George Lucas mini figure. Now, just the right color.
@marook: Very good observation! I am impressed. I have to check the 1989 map piece right away!
We are now one step closer to an ASSASSIN ('s creed). The headpiece is here, though in the wrong colour :-/
I picked up all but the banana suit guy and the babysitter at my local TRU.
Okay it's called "rogue" for some odd reason, but it doesn't change the fact that I really want him, mariachi, and desert warrior. My sisters LOVE the ice queen, cyborg and babysitter. I have to admit I kinda like the baby. Oh and the new guitar piece.
I love this series. Does anyone know where I can purchase a full box? Preferably online, but if I have to leave the house, I will.
So has anyone else noticed that these are already sold out on the LEGO Shop website. After being out what, a week? Very disappointing.
Does anybody know if they are already for sale in Denmark?

My favorite one is the Mariachi.
