The 2016 Brickset user survey

Posted by ,

For the past 6 years or so we have conducted a user satisfaction survey to measure how well we are doing and to give you the opportunity to provide comments and suggestions anonymously.

Complete the survey >>

I can't think of many websites that do this, certainly not LEGO-related ones, and to be honest it is not something that we have to do given that nobody pays to use the site, or comes here to buy products or services from us.

But, Brickset is nothing without its users, so if you do not like what you find here or what we do, you will go elsewhere and we would be wasting our time running it. Your opinion is therefore very important to us.

So, if you can spare five minutes, please complete the survey before midnight Saturday the 22nd of October. Thank you!

The questions we ask are the same every year which enables us to compare results over time and thus determine whether we are doing better or worse than previous years.

I will publish comparative results once the survey has ended and also our action plan which we will formulate based on your comments and suggestions. You can read last year's results here and by following the related articles.

Done and thanks for this site, it has really opened my eyes into how much I have spent on my tied favorite hobby (along with Videogames, Go Witcher 3). May I ask when will the reviews for Krennic Shuttle and AT-ST from Rogue One going to be posted? It has been a few fun weeks of news but I would love to see those two reviews up (I already bought the first wave of RO sets so you can take your time). Be safe.

more like one minute of your time....very easy to do. Thanks.

I think you should add a "N/A" answer to the speed of response question. Although, now that a ask it, I might be able to go back and qualify to answer it as it is, depending on how fast i get an response :)

That's asking about the speed of the website not how quickly we reply :)

I could change the words but it's been like that for the last few years so doing so could skew the comparative results.

I misunderstood....I would have scored that higher. I have zero problems with the speed of the site. I should have slowed down and taken 2 minutes to fill it out! :)

It´s good to have a user survey. I wish Lego Ideas had one, too.

For some reason, I could not type anything into the comments section. I see that others didn't have this problem so it must operator error.

My biggest gripe is that you cannot fix errors on the Forum after 6 minutes. I'm sure there is a reason for this but another popular Lego site allows continuous editing.

Posting photos has always been a challenge for me. Seems like the process changes fairly frequently and I cannot keep up. I figured out that how to post directly from my camera but how to grab a photo from Flickr eludes me. If there are photo posting procedures in FAQ, I haven't found them.

The biggest (only) bad grade I'd give Brickset is the continued fractured nature of topical discussions that appear in both the news feed comments and on the forums. It's repetitive and disjointed

Just completed the survey. It is the 1 LEGO fan website we reference and support. I am always telling people about it. Keep up the excellent work!

Kudos to Huw, and the rest for the staff for keeping such a great website running.

Now I'd hate to flood the comments, but I just remembered a suggestion (I don't want to take the survey again and skew that data) Would it be possible to add or change the % Owned under set so that it only takes into account Wanted sets?

For example: I Own 15 Alpha Team sets, there are 16 unowned but out of those I only want 9. It would be much more helpful if % Owned displayed 63% (15/24 owned/owned+wanted) instead of 48% (15/31 owned/all sets in the theme) This could be done by changing the existing value or adding a new column. I think this percentage would be so much more helpful for collectors.

Done. I have hardly any criticism.
Imho, Brickset is by far the best AFOL website on the web and my favorite by a huge margin. Combined with Bricklink and Rebrickable, it's a trio that is hard to imagine living without anymore. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into this, @Huw and all the rest of the team!

Thank you Brickset! The best site for any LEGO related topic. Not only does it enable me to keep track of my sets it lets me track the sets I am looking to obtain. I appreciate everything you do for the community. Keep it up :)

Thanks Brickset for the survey. I forgot to mention in the comment part, do you think Huw, there could be another way to upload an avatar picture besides using Gravatar, I'm not sure I want to make a Gravatar account but I do want a picture for my profile. Thanks!
