Friends Advent Calendar - Day 21

Only three more days after today - and from yesterday's gift, it look like the theme has turned to Christmas dinner with some turkey legs. Do we get furniture for the dinner or something else today?

Well, it's not furniture, but at least it's something else for the dinner! Today we have dessert provided, with a fancy cake complete with a cherry on top. In addition, we have a - I'm not sure - perhaps something to apply the icing to the fancy cake? It does keep with dinner preparations, but there's still an alarming lack of furniture for all this food. Maybe Naomi and Emma can eat while ice skating?

This calendar seems like the worst of all of them. Is it aimed at a younger age group? The builds certainly seem juniorized.

I wonder if the design team behind LEGO Friends is being tasked with too many sets in a year, I mean do they also work on designing Elves, Disney Princess and now DC Super Hero Girls? Because quite frankly, I do believe the weakness overall of this year's Calendar could be ascribed to too little time to get it worked on properly in time for the Fall release.

Surprise, surprise. It's rubbish!

Are we sure that's not supposed to be a Christmas pudding with holly on top, though, rather than a 'fancy cake'? ;-)

Cute dessert, but the worst calendar ever. Worst model was that camera on the tripod. LEGO needs to stop producing the Friends advent calendar.

Yeah, it's definitely a Christmas pudding and a blowtorch! I like how they achieved the effect but I can see why people would find it underwhelming, especially given the general lacklustre quality of the calendar...

Geez! Someone at Lego needs to go back to design school.

Interesting cake. Wonder why there are tomatoes on it?! ;) Maybe it's a sandwich cake?

(Yea I know they're cherries...)

I thought this might be a big bottle of perfume or something. My 5 year old daughter took one look at it and told me it was a Christmas pudding.

I wondered about the pudding - not having Christmas pudding per se here in the States, the only pudding I'm familiar with is plum pudding, and I didn't think it was common to light it on fire. I'm only used to having it with custard :-)
