More minifigures revealed for The LEGO Batman Movie

Posted by ,

Rumours surrounding the summer sets based on The LEGO Batman Movie have been swirling for a couple of weeks but we now have our first look at some of the minifigures which will be included in the sets.

LEGO's cache has yielded images of seven upcoming figures including Polka Dot Man, the Mutant Leader and the first Bane bigfig.

You can view them all after the break but watch out as there is a potential spoiler...

Scarecrow:

Two-Face:

Bane:

Mutant Leader:

Polka Dot Man:

Wicked Witch of the West:

Flying Monkeys:

The precise involvement of the Wicked Witch and her Flying Monkeys is unclear at the moment but they have been shown in a couple of trailers alongside a few characters from other properties.

Which other characters from the trailers would you most like to see in minifigure form? Let us know in the comments.

So ... Batman versus the Wicked Witch of the West? That sounds cool. And wow, Polka-Dot Man is actually a thing. I love how many obscure Bat-villains the movie is apparently going to be show-casing. That's kind of amazing.

What about the Daleks? They're in the trailer as well, and I've barely seen anyone mention them.

Now, I don't follow Batman all that closely, but that "mutant leader" looks a lot to me like a beat up Scott Summers...... though that can't possibly be a connection, now can it? Side note: I WILL be buying the set with the monkeys..... gotta replace that ugly mini-build in my Dimensions set.

Something people seem to forget is that while this Lego Batman is based on the Lego Movie version, not the STAR of Dimensions, the Batman lead in Dimensions did encounter the Lego Movie Batman (minor spoiler), thus connecting the two franchises (anyone for a Batman / Batman team up? I wouldn't be surprised, given the number of Batman figs in the randoms and the upcoming Dimensions Level pack, that there WILL be more interaction between the two. Plus, the set possibilities......)

By in Netherlands,

So we know Gremlins, Daleks, the Wicked Witch of the West and her Flying monkeys are appearing. I wonder how they will play in the storyline and if we can expect more.

Bane is amazing! Finally a decent looking big-fig. Well, that and the Rancor, and I really like the new version of Killer Croc. :) And Two-Face has his love-heart boxers showing, hahaha!

By in Puerto Rico,

The Rancor Big Fig take a great award in quality (especially considerain't that he can swallow minifigures).

Do you reckon that base that Polka-Dot Man is standing on will be a real piece? It's almost like a Dimensions base but thinner, and with hollow studs instead of solid ones. Could be a useful piece considering the electronic components make the actual Dimensions bases expensive and they lack any connections on their underside.

Only speculating, but...
[Spoiler?]

There is a Batman In The Phantom Zone polybag and Batman comes with a Phantom Zone projector in the Arkham Asylum set. I assumed that any non-Batman characters might be encountered in the Phantom Zone.

@mycroft42 - the mutant leader is from The Dark Knight Returns: he wears visor-shades, being an 80's era comic.

Can't wait for more details. Love the Polka Dot Man & Bane figures.

I need to get a second job I think to pay for all of these amazing Batman sets and figs that keep coming out. You are killing me LEGO!

Polka dot man!

By in United Kingdom,

From the minifigure, I've only just realised that Billy Dee Williams is playing Two-Face, who also played Harvey Dent in the Tim Burton Batman movie. That's awesome!!!

Mutant Leader minifig is balls rad. Don't shiv buying a set for it, but a loose one be a must-buy.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Those are most excellent minifigures! I hope the set with Bane isn't too expensive...

There has got to be a very good reason for these Oz characters...

By in United States,

Weepy Donuts, that's a very interesting observation about The Phantom Zone. I will have to look more closely at the Arkham Asylum set. That Bane fig is so cool looking!

Billy-Dee Two-Face and Mutant Leader are just great. I knew we were in for something special with this movie when they included figures of the Kabuki Twins.
Pretty sure I saw Crazy Quilt in one of those trailers. Hopefully we'll get him as well.
As far as characters not in the trailers, we could list people all day long, but we really do need Ventriloquist, Mad Hatter, Azrael and Black Mask. Roxy Rocket would be fun too.

Just when I think I have almost the entire rogues gallery...

The new baby minifigure would make a good puppet for the ventriloquist.

By in United Kingdom,

I have made a trailer supercut that tries to show what we've seen so far in chronological order:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5O0bFmxHHI
I the description I have outlined my interpreted plot, and have pointed out the following at the end:
- George & Lizzie from Midway Rampage destroying Gotham
- Gremlins on the Scuttler
- Daleks in the Power Station
- Flying Monkeys in the Batcave

I'm pretty sure the movie will cross over with Lego Dimensions in the way The Lego Movie did with the real world.

There are a ridiculous amount of characters in TLBM. Total overload of content being released.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It appears that Banes arms will be attached differently than most big-figs. They look to be at a strange angle in this photo, as well as in the trailer.

Polka Dot man and Two Face are a must for me!
