[UK/EU] Free R3 unit in May
Posted by Huw,
Andres over at Zusammengebaut has his hands on a German store calendar for May and has reported that 40268 R3-M2 polybag will be free with Star Wars purchases from 7th to the 31st May 2017, which is (of course!) just after May the Fourth promotions end.
Looks like we'll all be buying plenty of Star Wars sets...
Check back later today for news about the sets that'll be 40% off during the May the Fourth promotional period.

Will the 40% discount affect shop at home?
Yes
Is that a modular astromech droid display system? I have never seen that before.
Yes! Been waiting for that one :) Almost ordered it at Bricklink.
Right after my Birthday! awesome!
Yes! The perfect opportunity to get the a-wing! Who needs a brick-built R2-D2? But I can think of a few characters I would prefer... Aunt beru, rebels Hondo, fenn rau, minister tua, series 3 Ezra, gar Saxon, rebels wedge, series 3 Sabine, any podracer pilot, any EP. 2 Jedi, any only-yellow Luke, any jakku citizen, officer disguise cassian, saw gerrera, iron squadron, CW boba fett, Mortis people, zuckus, more Rebel pilots, general dodonna, admiral Konstantine, lieutenant lyste, melch, lobot, numa, cham syndula, quarrie, bg-81, anyone from the cantina, riyo chuchi, Zeb, Sabine's family, more of jabba's guards, EP. 5 Lando, depa billaba, zare leonis or jai kell, courier droid, governor Pryce, field armour tarkin, old jho, that droid outside maz's castle, tseebo, wat tambor, robed senate guard, ap-5, I know I'm going on a lot but I don't care, old Luke, etc.
Will the r3 m2 be available in the U.K.
Nice! Finally confirmation when we're going to get it here in Europe. :-)
I'll certainly be spending a lot on Star Wars during the promotion!! It's getting quite hard to juggle timing to get the various promotions. I've added them to my calendar to keep track.
Any word when the US might see it?
In Belgium it will be 30% off an not 40%.
@Clone Commander Stone. Yes, R3-M2 is available from May 7th (the day after the brick-built R2 promo ends) and is free with ANY Star Wars purchase.
@Speed Champions Fan. I don't know exactly who Quarrie is but i seem to remember him being in a Rebels set later in the year.
"and is free with ANY Star Wars purchase" that's not what the German flyer says. It says "Bei jedem Einkauf von Lego Star Wars Produkten ab 65 Euro" which google translate tells me is "
With every purchase of Lego Star Wars products from 65 euros"
@brainslugged
He's a Mon calamari engineer seen in the season 2 episode of rebels "wings of the master". He built the original prototype b-wing.
@Speed champions fan: I think you missed KSD-1 (Kitchen Sink Droid :) Btw, what's up with Lego giving no love to those of us here in the US who have suffered through many an argument with our spouses Re: Lego spending, only to be rewarded with Nada Bupkiss (he's an Expanded Universe Character).
Sorted. I'll just ensure I don't buy everything else I need in the May 4th promo and get something extra afterwards, because I need that (not particularly interesting) droid so badly.
Knickers. Just bought one off eBay for £17
Any idea when this will hit the US? And is the the first (hopefully!) of a new minifig series?
Sorry.... late to ask a silly question...... Just wondering if any of the letters and numbers mean anything....... so is R2-D2 a 2nd generation R unit and D2 means something else..... thus is R3-M2 a 3rd generation..... there is also an R3-A2 ??? Better or worse than an M2 ?
^ there seems to be no concrete answer that I'm aware of, because the naming systems have different canon and non-canon examples, but a simple answer would be that the letters and numbers just refer to the serial number of the droid, and are likely to only be a small part of it. It might be safe to assume different initial numbers may correlate to slightly different or improved models.
