Some branches of Smyths Toys have put the summer sets on the shelves already: Star Wars, City, Creator and others.

Brickset member Joefish found this City Jungle set, 60162 Jungle Air Drop Helicopter, in his local branch, a set we didn't have a picture for until now. It may well be a Smyths exclusive in the UK.

There's a picture of the back of the box after the break.

Great, another overpriced set. That tiger will be horribly hard to get...

City is crying out for an actual zoo theme I reckon - I can't understand why LEGO have never delivered.

By in United States,

I've been wondering why not a zoo for several years now...

"City Jungle". I think it's about time for these non-city City subthemes to be spun off ...

By in Canada,

That set looks great, too bad it is expensive too.

By in United Kingdom,

It's just a bit annoying if it means my local Smyths isn't going to get the 60161 crash site that I actually wanted!

Ooh, I will likely not be getting any of these City Jungle sets, but...I love the jungle animals! They may be separate purchases.

@Kez, Thanks for the link.

I was planning to get 60159 Halftrack Mission from John Lewis when they have it; I have some JL vouchers. Smyths is doing it for £25 which is probably the UK RRP. Based on the USD price, I was expecting it to be £30 - £35, so I'm a happy (jungle) camper.

By in Australia,

Agreed with Aegis. None of the Jungle sets really excite me enough to purchase them, but I'll definitely be Bricklinking as many of the individual animals as possible. It's about time we got some big cat pieces (that weren't brick-built).

I really love the look of this VTOL set - the vibes bring me back to the jungle adventurers sets of yesteryear. I don't know why people are complaining about the price. 1.) it could just a a bumped up retailer exclusive price. 2.) there's a hell of a lot going on in this set. Not only do you get a massive VTOL, but you also get a decent sized 4x4, swamp boat and 2 dirt bikes. And the ruin scenery isn't even everything, because they didn't stop there and gave us a swamp lookout and jetty too! Combine those elements with the fact that there's a spider, carnivorous plant, crocodile and tiger and it has the makings of a dream playset.

I will however concede that the temple ruins from the other biggest set in the range are better designed, but the vehicles aren't as interesting to me.

The Buildable Figures Stormtrooper Commander was at one of the local Targets today. I got my hands on it, and it's super cool!!

The city jungle theme sets look great but I've just looked on smiths myself and the sets that stand out for me are the lego friends ones as I have girls, Lego friends did a jungle subtheme in 2014 my daughter now 14 year old has 4 of them, I think the jungle theme is a great idea for lego city, also I love the lego batman movie batwing and banes truck.

By in Sweden,

This is not that overpriced? £109. It looks big to me.

By in United Kingdom,

£109 is a lot of money yes, but for 1250 pieces, 7 minifigs, a tiger and a crocodile, a large helicopter, a boat, and jeep and two dirtbikes plus 4 individual playsets seems pretty spot on. It does more look like one of those city set bundles than one cohesive set but that's another matter.

Jungle theme has me hype!
I normally shun City sets other than trains, but they really hit a home run with this slate of sets!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Loving the brick built cockpits on this and the coastguard helicopter much better then the one piece

By in Norway,

F*** yes! a tiger!

By in United Kingdom,

I can say that it is not a Smyths exclusive, being in the United Kingdom myself. I saw this in Toys R Us and there was a new polybag as well that is the jungle theme if you spend over £15 on City. You could also buy the polybag for £4.99.

By in Germany,

Hopefully this comes out here in Germany as well... we have no Smyths here...

By in United Kingdom,

They have all the new star wars sets out in my local store as well as the Silent Mary. Just picked up the Bounty hunters set (BOSSK!!!) I might be tempted back at the weekend for more sets, the Rathtar escape looks pretty cool

By in United States,

I'm definetly getting the halftrack mission and tiger and leopard sets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Tiger - awesome!

Black panther - also awesome!

Leopard - awesome.

(I am pedantically assume the latter isn't a Jaguar as they're South American whereas tigers black panthers and leopards are able to co-exist in Asia?!)

By in United Kingdom,

Seems to me the new sets have been taken off the website...

By in United Kingdom,

Any one seen the sets anywhere else other than Smyths? I have no physical store close to me :(

Picked up 70917 Ultimate Batmobile from my local Smyths (Fareham) at the weekend, although strangely I couldn't see any of the other summer LEGO Batman Movie sets.
