Interesting new arrivals in certified stores

A couple of interesting sets have turned up in certified stores this week. Bart found this cute 40251 Mini Piggy Bank in Warsaw while Burak found 40173 Picture Frame in Dubai.
It looks as if the piggy bank can be converted into a mouse-bank and a panda-bank or something, and if I had to guess I'd say it was one of Mel Caddick's designs.
I suspect they'll surface in brand stores and shop.LEGO.com soon enough.

How extremely odd... but intriguing
It doesn't look as though those banks would take much change before becoming full - but I appreciate the 'cuddly' rotund designs. I quite like the 'enlarged Ant-Man style Lego brick' effect on the photo frame, as you would be able to see the iconic Lego shape much more easily on a shelf.
The Piggy Bank has the Limited Edition stamp in the lower left corner that matches boxed promotional items we've seen at Brick Friday and other October-December freebies with $99 purchase.
The Chinese Zodiac signs for 2018, 2019, and 2020 are Year of the Dog, Pig, and Rat, so perhaps this may end up as a "New Year" promo with purchase. The "Panda" looks more like a Dog when enlarged.
Hmm... I'm not a big fan of the bank, but the picture frame is not a bad set, I hope the 2x2 round tiles have stickers or prints with the LEGO logo on them. But still, the frame has an overall good look and parts.
The picture frame is great, but will be ridiculously priced.
The bank is a mess. The official one from 2015 is superb, I'll stick with that one until they make a full pink version.
I'm mostly excited for the picture frame for the blue round 2x2 tiles. They have become a rarity and people are asking ridiculous prices at BL (although this is, of course, the new round 2x2 with the updated bottom, but still).
Aw yeah! The pig has new eyes stcikers! Love how its 3 in 1!
I like the way the picture frame came out, it looks great! As for the piggy bank, I'll be passing.
