Online retailer Zavvi is holding a LEGO Day today with the launch of a LEGO-themed ZBOX and discounts on a range of sets.
A ZBOX is, basically, a mystery package that you would normally receive monthly for a subscription fee, but this special LEGO one is a one-off.

Hope it's nothing Galidor although some people have said that they have seen great MOC's built with the pieces.
Those 'discounted' sets don't seem to be discounted by much, if at all. An example would be the Claas tractor - it's easily available for £89.99 (TRU, Smyths) - and the Porsche is available in Smyths for £180.
"Give us money for the things in this box which we won't show you".
Sounds like a classic street-trader's scam to me.

I think you'd probably have to be pretty hardcore to need the zbox - in general their contents look like fun but the stuff inside looks pretty unremarkable - there seem to be reviews by quite a few people cheesed off with what they get inside.
There do tend to be nice t shirts and original box art if you like that sort of thing, though.

Zboxes are pretty variable unless you want T-shirts or know an item that's in the box. I only ever bought one, which was on offer and had a Dredd replica badge. Ironically, given the subject of this post, it also had some Lego inside it (a little police helicopter that I never got around to building).
With this one, I suspect it'll have a couple of small sets, a T-shirt, possibly some kind of written material (such as a book or magazine) and a bunch of junk. (YMMV on that last point.)
I got one, since I'm subscibed to their newsletter and I guess I learnt about it just as it gone on sale. ZBox seems very good lately, and I think it might actually be worth the price if its a shirt and 5-6 other stuff including a smaller set. I just hate the wait even thou its sold out they wont post until the end of next month. lol
