Not at all surprised the Ninjago City set is on a winning streak, it's a gorgeous set. However, I am surprised to see the Ice Tank making its way up the list, never expected that one to make the cut. Personally voted for the Lightening Jet, no idea why but I'm massively intrigued by its unique design and I love the way it sits on a surface in that tilted position :)

For me has to be the massive NinjaGo City set. Man...it's an official kit built like a moc. Love it. So many fun details and that price! You can't beat it. Worth saving for. Definitely on my must buy list.

By in United States,

My most anticipated set from the original wave is Destiny's Bounty; but after Ninjago City was announced, it may be my most anticipated set from any theme this year. Like the Temple of Airjitzu, it seems to also be attracting a lot of builders who don't usually buy Ninjago.

A lot of the other sets look great, but I'll have to see the movie before I decide if I want any.

Would it be worth removing Ninjago City from the poll? Having it on there kinda makes the whole thing a bit pointless and predictable...

By in United Kingdom,

I voted for destiny's bounty, as I am a fan of LEGO ships and this is my favourite one that has been done in a while.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Figured everyone would be voting for the big city so I picked Destiny's bounty which looks like an interesting departure from the pirate ships.
Would have voted for garmadon Garmadon GARMADON! if it had been on the list because I can't wait to find out what that's about...

@Ayliffe - I did consider that but decided against leaving anything out as to do so would risk manipulating the results. For instance, if 70620 NINJAGO City was removed then I expect the vote share of 70618 Destiny's Bounty would dramatically increase to a comparable degree. Furthermore, the poll still shows the relative popularity of other sets even though 70620 NINJAGO City is in the lead by a substantial margin and reveals a number of interesting trends, many of which I did not anticipate.

Voted for Destiny's Bounty. I like Ninjago City, but personally I don't think it's the best set of the wave.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I went for ninjago city chase simply because its probably the only ninjago movie set I'll get. Fifteen quid for five figures and 233 pieces is too good to ignore.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Very hard to choose. But I picked Ninjago City, that set stands out slightly more than the others but DB is a very close second.

Gravatar
By in United States,

There are so many awesome ones coming out I'm not sure, but I think I'll go with the Ninjago City. I was originally going to spend the summer collecting old BIONICLE sets, but after that masterpiece was announced I've been saving up for it.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It was tough to choose! There is so may great sets. I choose Ninjago City as it is a massive set and i am in awe when i see it

Gravatar
By in United States,

Should remove ninjago city and group by relative pricing or choose top 5 in list etc. Ninjago city will definitely skew the polls. I have another set in mind I want more but I chose the biggest to get if you know what I mean. Im probably not the only one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Destiny's Bounty, for sure. Even NINJAGO City can't change that!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I picked Destiny's Bounty, because while I'm really looking forward to Ninjago City, Destiny's Bounty is so gorgeous! I also really like the Fire Mech. Every set in this collection has something awesome, so EVERYTHING IS AWESOME! :)

By in Norway,

I went with NINJAGO city. I'm convinced to buy the city chase, master falls, temple of the ultimate ultimate weapon, the jelly sub and some CMF:s first, but NINJAGO city is without a doubt one of the most impressive Lego sets of all time. I might get it next year if my budget allows me to do.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Destiny's Bounty was an easy choice for me

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Only one vote? That is not really fair.

The vote should be split into three categories
Mecha. The Green Mecha Dragon.
Buildings. The Ninjago City.
Vehicles. Destiny's Bounty.

but with only one vote, it has to be Destiny's Bounty.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

None of the above. So not into Ninja GO!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Personally, I'm looking forward to 5004916-1 because I want to play with the red pod, and see what I can do with it. But it's not on the list, so I can't. I guess I'll have to vote for something else then :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Voted the CMFs, but Ninjago City is super close behind it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I voted for the CMF minifigures as the one I want (Female General #1 who is still to be properly named) is the one I can attain over the Ninjago City.

Gravatar
By in United States,

While Ninjago City and Destiny's Bounty look like great sets, I voted for the Fire Mech since mechs and robots are my biggest interest.

Gravatar
By in France,

With no surprise at all, NINJAGO City and Destiny's Bounty gets the more votes, simply because they were really impressive when we discovered them. I think they are two of the best sets of the year, with the Apollo Saturn V, Silent Mary or the London Bus. TLG did great with these two sets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Not really fussed on any of these, but voted for Ninjago City as I do appreciate its coolness.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Duq I'm intrigued by that set too! I've seen a lot of pictures from the movie of what looks like a ship with the front in the shape of a shark's mouth which I can't believe isn't incorporated in any of those other sets - I'm hoping it may be related to that? Can't wait to find out!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really just want Cole's Quake Mech. That thing looks super awesome and I hope it gets a nice, big proper set.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm not a fan of the Ninjago theme but I am very much looking forward to the City set as it will be easy to de-Ninjagoise and turn into a Chinatown modular.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Not surprised to see the Green Dragon Mech in 4th, considering its the city, Ship and Minifigs in the top 3 spots. I thinks its the best of the rest right now.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I really like the Ninjago dragons, so it has to be the Mech Dragon set for me.

Ninjago City somehow simply does not appeal to me at all. I prefer the 'cleaner' sets of that size for buildings (like Lego Modulars). The Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon would be my second favourite (and Destiny's Bounty would be third).

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I want to see the CMF reviewed because I won't buy all of them and I want to see which ones appeal the most. I understand why Ninjago City is popular but I won't read the review until after I've bought it. I like to be surprised when I build a large set.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So many good sets here. Personally, I'll aim to pick up The CMF's, Masterfalls, Jelly sub, the mech dragon, the fire mech, the ice tank and the bounty. The bounty really takes the win for me here. It's just magnificent, more so than the modular Ninjago city- not to mention very affordable in the UK.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I chose Ninjago City Chase because it has a cool vehicle (i might use it as a parking officer's car) and some useful food pieces. The minifigures are useful for multiple settings and I have never had an 'Asiatic' looking minifigure before.

I can understand why people like Ninjago City the most and I would have put it as my favorite and possibly even bought it if I was more interested in Eastern culture.

Some of the CMF's will be useful too so I may get those.

Gravatar
By in Greece,

Go ship Go!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I think it's fair to say Destiny's Bounty is the favourite of the retail sets - and with good reason! Who wouldn't want that ship? It even looks like an embellished version of a junk that would fit with a more realistic ninja diorama, if, like me, you still pine for the 'Ninja' castle theme.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Who didn't expect Ninjago City and Destiny's Bounty would be the top two? I'm not a Ninjago fan and probably not going to see the movie, but I still might get the City, just for the structure and details!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I voted for the Lightning Jet as the details and unique design make it very attractive and it has an easy way to display it, besides some of those factors it's also one of the first I'm going to get.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I voted for destinys bounty

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm the one vote for the Lightning Jet! It's the only set I like because of ed and Edna. The whole line just isn't for me, but I'll accept it knowing it's not cannon.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ninjago City is my first choice, but my second is Ninjago City Chase actually. Will probably pass on the rest.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So far I'm having a lot of trouble finding sets *not* to buy from this range! So many of the smaller sets--especially the Jelly Sub and the City Chase--are every bit as well-thought-out as the huge sets. Fortunately mecha don't really appeal to me (unless they're shaped like animals, so Green Dragon Mech is still a must-buy). I'm thrilled that several of the water-themed villains will be in the CMF collection as that helps me not be tempted by minifigures in the few sets whose main builds don't thrill me.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Lloyd's dragon! Love a good brick built dragon...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I had to vote for Ninjago City . . . simply because it is such an outstanding model . . . however, with that price point it is unlikely I'll ever get it.

The CMF's are more my speed . . . I hope they start appearing in the wild soon -- maybe we will hear reports any day!

Gravatar
By in United States,

While I really enjoy Ninjago City, I like Destiny's Bounty better. I think while the former is more unique and has a better minifigure selection, the latter's build is a tad better and more refined. Both are fanatastic deals and I hope to pick both of them up this October.

Gravatar
By in Philippines,

Where's Cole's Mech?

Gravatar
By in Japan,

Destiny's Bounty for me. I like the design and colors. Actually want to use it as static decoration somewhere in my house.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Mine is Kai's fire mech

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love these sets.. But I am going to wait and NOT buy them from Lego..

Seriously.. why? They are over priced anyway you look at it.

Being a AFOL I would only buy them since I love them if they had a value, but they are being over produced and they are not really valuable anymore.

I will however go and buy some Chinese knock of of these sets for quite a good savings.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I had a hard time choosing between Ninjago City & Destiny's Bounty - really looking forward to both of these. Next in the ranking for me would be the Temple, then the Green Dragon. These sets are all pretty cool... and I'm not even a Ninjago person really!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Spinjitzu Training, definitely. It's such a small set, but it has quite a few cool parts plus Kai and Zane.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Voted for City Chase...I am smitten with that little police rickshaw! Has LEGO ever done a rickshaw vehicle before?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Obviously Ninjago City and Destiny's Bounty are the standout attractions on the list but there are some other cool little sets at the various price points i.e. Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon and Master falls look nice "little" sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Fire Mech 2.0.!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Voted for the Destiny's Bounty. There is no denying that the Ninjago City is a fantastic set, but among sets I am completely certain I will buy, it has to be the Destiny's Bounty.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Minnesota Nice - there was a great little rickshaw in the Batman Gorilla Grod set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Anyone else surprised that the Water Strider is at the bottom of the list? You'd think it would at least be higher up than the Manta Ray Bomber!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@TheBrickPal: i know i am, considering that the Water Strider looks a million times better! (brief pause) and i am NOT biased, even though i voted for it!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm more excited for Destiny's Bounty solely because it's potentially in my price range, and Ninjago City is not. I did vote for Ninjago City because I REALLY want a review of that, although it does come out a full month after the others.

Of course, I think I stand with everyone else here in wanting reviews of all of the sets. :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Voted for one of the smaller sets, since there is no way in hell I'm going to have the funds or space for the 1st and 2nd placers up there. Cool as they may look, its just not feasible for me to get them

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Woah... has my comment about voting for a set I'm likely to actually get caused smaller sets to rocket up the order? 'Cause that's what it looks like!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ninjago City is all over the place. I will try to get it, but a lot of the other sets stand out above it.

I voted for Destinys Bounty, but the the Water Strider and Fire Mech are both excellent as well.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

As a fan of things fantastic/mythological, I went with the Green Ninja Mech Dragon. It will take hardly any effort to mod it to an actual brick-built monster (as opposed to a mech).

My second favourite is the CMF line, though only one minifigure appeals as is and a few others for parts.
