40264 Friends Accessory Set revealed!
Posted by CapnRex101,
Brickset member jenks87 came across 40170 CITY Accessory Set in their local LEGO Certified Store a short while ago and the matching 40264 Friends Accessory Set has now been revealed on Facebook by The Brick Shop.
This pack contains a very different selection of accessories including a barbecue, a table tennis table, a stage and a swan-shaped pedalo! However, mini-dolls are absent just as minifigures do not appear in 40170.
The Brick Shop has also published an official image of 40170 CITY Accessory Set which you can view after the break...
I think both sets look very interesting and hope they will soon be available around the world. Let us know what you think of them both in the comments.
Update: Thanks to ultiminutes for confirming that these sets cost SGD 17.90 which roughly equates to £10 or $13.

This are really small boxes! Look at that newspaper!

That swan is terrifyingly huge.

I wonder if the traffic signs are printed or stickered.

That swan could swallow one of the Friends girls whole! What on Earth is going on in Heartlake City this year? No wonder they've all evacuated to the ski slopes ...

There's actually one of the modified panels to accept minidoll feet so it's actually a peddle-swan boat rather than an actual swan...

@MGDawson - Right you are, I hadn't spotted that. Thanks!
We can all relax in the knowledge that Heartlake City has not been invaded by giant swans. Not yet, anyway...

It's S$17.90 which is the same price point for the seasonal sets
The box is slightly shorter than a City starter set but a tad longer.

Looks like Lego is really on the ball this year. I hope these are a great success and we get more packs like this. I was just browsing back through the years this week and was drooling over the various accessories sets from yesteryear. Street signs, minifig hats and weapons, collectin of printed bricks, drool...

I like the pedalo build, i think it is instantly recogniseable.
Would be cool to see a set like this for Star Wars!

I'd buy these in a heartbeat. Here's to hoping for that worldwide release!

If LEGO thinks they can charge $10-13 for these sets they have clearly lost their minds. Why would people pay for that when there are no minifigures, and not that many parts? Friends line has about 10 sets this year that are $10-$15 with minidolls and probably about the same amount of pieces.
I really like the Friends one but anything over $7 is way too much.

DC / Marvel Comics accessory set would be a treat!!

I'm most interested in the CITY one for sure, but I might buy the Friends set too.
The CITY set seems to have 93 pieces, if it's $10 in the US (which equates $12 in SEK), it's quite a bargain with 4 (new?) road signs and lots of other uncommon parts.
I agree with @lionbear8, any licensed accessory set would be amazing. Fingers crossed for a Star Wars one.

@The Green Brick Giant,
If the price point in Singapore is any indication, it'll probably be $9.99
S$17.90 is the same price as the seasonal sets such as 40237-1 Easter Egg Hunt or 40236-1 Valentine's Day Picnic

I think the City set looks better for Friends than the Friends one does. The accessories & little builds look far more interesting

Last one from me, there are 6 stickers in this set.
Yup, with the exception of the newspaper, nothing is printed.

Very interesting. I will probably buy the city one. @AgentKallus that would be awesome! I am actually planning on building a Asian city!

@agentkallus maybe speed champions! A collection of the kind of thing you get along with an individual car?

I hope there's gonna be a ninjago version!
Maybe it could have pieces of furniture designed for each of the ninja

Is anyone else bugged that the boxes are trapezoidal?

Literally parts packs. It's really nice that they're come out with these. Don't always want to pay extra for minifigs, especially when they're not ones I'll be using.

^ but seems you'll pay extra.
Usually starter packs cost the same, with about same piece count (same cheap designs) and 2 or 3 minifigs...

I love the shape of those boxes and the wrap around picture lots great.
The results of the survey a few months ago I wonder.

The Friends set doesn't make much sense. Friends sets are already full of various minibuilds and loose elements that get vacuumed. For City, sets with only traffic signs and trees have been sorely missed since the 80ies. How can it be that a cypress tree is worth a fortune on the aftermarket?
