The next LEGO Ideas set 21310 Old Fishing Store is due for release on September 1st and just ahead of that its fan designer Robert Bontenbal will be taking a whirlwind tour around Europe signing the set at events in London, Paris, Berlin and Copenhagen:

  • August 24, 1-4pm, LEGO Store Leicester Square
  • August 25, 1-4pm, LEGO Store Paris Forum les Halles
  • August 26, 10am-1pm, LEGO Store Berlin
  • August 27, 12-3pm, LEGO Store Copenhagen

The dates were announced in a video uploaded by LEGO a few days ago, Anton's Cat Adventures, a stop-frame animation set in the fishing store.

We hope to be in attendance at the London event.

What with this set, Ninjago City and something BIG, September's going to be an expensive month!

The next Ideas set after this one, Women Of NASA, is scheduled for release on December 1st.

By in Australia,

Since it's due out so soon, I might consider getting Women of NASA for the minifigure parts, depending on price. I'm not really into space stuff, though...

I'm very likely attending the LEGO Store, Leicester Square event, can't wait! Looks like the London Flagship store will be a primary place for signing and future events, makes it much easier for me to attend these events. Any chance Adam Grabowski (Misterzumbi) will be in attendance in addition to the fan designer?

Do these events ever involve anything else. E.g. double points on the set in question or any other freebies?

I may try to look in on the Leicester Square signing but that store in the middle of the school hols? It might be a case of looking at just how long the queue is first....

Anyone going to the London signing that could hook me up with a signed set?

By in Germany,

I really hope we can preorder it like Lego Boost and it doesn't turn into another Apollo Saturn V order debacle. Hopefully they learned their lesson and set the limit per customer to 1 in the first month.

Bah! GCSE results day. That'll make it difficult for me to get there. I'll either be celebrating with my son or a shoulder to cry on :-/

Can anyone whose been to any signings in the past give me some info, for example How many signed sets can you get, how many people turn up to get one, do you get one without a security tag on it, do they close the rest of the store and just concentrate on signings between 1pm and 4pm ?

^They don't close the store, and Leicester Square is particularly manic. There's normally queues to get in even without signings. It's the school holidays so potentially could be a long wait - plus it's a tourist trap. You are allowed to buy one signed set normally, but if there's a large allocation and enough time at the end, they sometimes let you go back for a second.

The number of people just going for the signings varies, according to what set and what day of the week it falls on. Bluewater has always been brilliant - very organised, civilized and easy to park. It's a shame that Bluewater has been overlooked this time - they could have probably squeezed a signing in during the morning, the gone of to London for an afternoon session.

I didn't go to Leicester Square for the Bus signing so can't comment how that was.
