Brand store to open in Madrid next week

Posted by ,

LEGO is opening its first brand store in Spain, in the La Vaguada Shopping Center in Madrid. Doors will open next Wednesday, 22nd November, just in time for the Black Friday weekend.

Spain will be the 8th country in Europe in which LEGO has a brand store.

If you go along on the opening day do report back and let us know what it's like.

Update: it's not clear yet whether this is a proper brand store or a certified store. We'll try and seek clarification.

More information here. Thanks to Ruben for the news.

By in Spain,

Brand store or Certified Store? It seems the shop is going to be run by Percassi Group, which runs the LEGO Certified Stores in Italy.
They are also going to open another store in Spain at Parquesur Shopping Center in Leganés (Madrid).

^ Good point. It's not clear in the articles, so you are probably right. That's not so good, then, but better than nothing.

By in Spain,

In the article, it says official store and the opening ceremony is being done by people from TLG. Seems clear enough to me as they would not waste their time going to open a certified store. Of course, it would not be the first time a newspaper misreported a story!

It is not an official store. It is a certified store from the Italian Percassi Group.
But... Better than nothing! ^^'

Good for all of you, fellow Spaniards! Maybe one day, in the Czech Republic in Prague...

I've asked someone in TLG for the answer.

By in Spain,

Long time lurker, first time poster. So hello, everybody.

Sooooo happy to read this, I live 20 mins from this new store. My question: What's the difference between a branded and a certified one? Will a certified one have a PAB wall? and about VIP card, will I be able to use it if it's certified? Thanks in advance!

Welcome! I'll let someone else answer as I've never been to a certified store.

Hello everyone and very good news for Madrid and for Spain!
Finally we can have a great store of our favorite toy, but I think a large store would be better located in the South of Madrid where there is more youth, more young families and more children.

By in Spain,

Sorry gongoro73 about your question... from Lego Web:

https://www.lego.com/en-us/service/help/shopping/lego-stores/lego-certified-stores-408100000007754

"Want to shop for LEGO® sets but don’t live near a LEGO® Store? Don’t worry! There are many areas that have LEGO® Certified Stores. These stores are owned and operated by an authorized partner that has an agreement with the LEGO Group. They only sell LEGO® products and they even have access to exclusives, which are only available through LEGO® Stores! Please keep in mind that the LEGO® VIP Program, LEGO® gift cards and LEGO® promotions aren't valid at LEGO® Certified Stores."

I soooooooo sad if this store is not a Brand store....

The Cuatro Torres area is not my favorite area of Madrid shopping—not even close—but with the fifth tower going up, maybe they see more sales opportunity up there. But is a head scratcher for me from my time living there.

But hey if this could anyway prompt for an Architecture Skyline set in the future, I'll take it as good news. ;-)
