More LEGO Games news

News of the range of LEGO games, to launched on 1st July, is now coming in thick and fast!

- games.lego.co.uk is now live, and contains a Flash animation. It looks good but doesn't actually tell you anything.

- This page on LEGO.com, entitled A new way to play, looks like it contains cool stuff but all the links I tried lead to the above Flash animation (thanks Saso)

- An article at BrettSpeil.co.uk actually has some useful information, like set numbers, prices and box art (thanks szww)

It does seem that these are set for release in Europe only, at least initially. I suspect LEGO will test the water with them and release them more widely later, perhaps next year.

Update: We are once again indebited to whung, who's posted good pictures of all ten games in his gallery on Brickshelf which I've added here. Having now seen them, I have to say they look pretty cool -- all very colourful and probably fun to play. (thanks waterjedi17 for finding them!).

By in Germany,

Wow! That's cool! I've seen the animation, and it looks something from a sci-fi movie! Amazing! Now, finally, board games from LEGO that's NOT exclusive! They look like ordinary games, but with a LEGO twist!

@freston: From the quote, it's very interesting... It's similar to what the latest LEGO Club Magazine said! Can't wait to get them!

WOW! These games look really really fun. I like lego based games and actually made a pretty fun star wars war game with my cousin. Anyway these games look really fun and will be a great way to get rare peices. I will definately be getting one. I like how lego has decided to refrain from the video games a bit. I mean lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones were ok and Battles looks fun but in Lego Rock band most of the stuff we won't even be able to build with real bricks. COME ON! Anyway I am really exited about these board games.

If you pre-order the Legend Reborn Movie in the UK you get a click toy.

That link to the minisite doesn't work, although the link in the older news post does work.

By in Canada,

Ah, man. I'm kinda peeved that the board games won't be available in N. America. I really wanted that Pirate one. (I'm mad on Pirates, Lego or otherwise.)

By in United Kingdom,

@Gameon99, what new instructions?

Gravatar
By in United States,

will they ever be available in america?
UP @Brickset

Huw: I mean the building instructions for most of the summer 2009 lego sets such as indiana jones, space police and star wars.

By in United States,

To bad that they won't first be in the US too!! Well, I can wait. I already can't afford all the new stuff that's come out!

WOW! The sets look awesome! BUT... notice the skeleton in Pirate Code! It has the OLD ARMS! Yep, the old-style skeleton arms and attachments! That's great! So many jewels...

By in United Kingdom,

Anyone else notice that the spiders eyes use a new 1x1 piece?

By in United States,

If these come out in North America, I'll get Luna Command and probably Race 3000. Those are really cute little cars!

By in United States,

I want Monsters 4! Look at all the cool minifigure heads!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'd buy Monsters 4 just for all those cool minifig heads!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hey they look cool, but are those like, LEGO babie minifigures?? Monsters 4 look awsome also, because of the heads.

Huw, I think there's a problem with the amount of how many people want these sets. I marked that I want "Creationary" (because it look like it could be pretty funny) but it still says "0 people want this set". Same with the other sets. This doesn't really bother me, just something I thought I'd point out.

If they ever come out in the US, I'm getting them all.... for the parts... Is that a werewolf head in monsters 4? Hehehehe.... to good to pass.......

Gravatar
By in United States,

Other than getting them for extra pieces who really likes the cheap game concept?

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Visually they look very appealing to me. What the game concepts are I have no idea - but they've certainly gotten me interested. Just have to wait and see.

By in United Kingdom,

@Cole85459 - that's deliberate; the system records that you want it, but the master total isn't refreshed immediately, in order to help manage the processing load on the server.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I'm guessing Monsters 4 is something like that old X-POD game.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

On second thought I take that back. I have no clue.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

I am looking forward to this! My favourite would be Magikus, Creationary, and Minotoruas!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Correct bluemoose, the calculations are done overnight.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yeah I'm not too fond of these lego game boards but some of them seem to have rare pieces. So I'll still think about that. Just visually looking at the game boards, it seems that Creationary may be the best of them.
