We launched our latest building competition in November and are now ready to announce the winners!

Over 200 entries were received between Flickr and Instagram and we are awarding copies of 6176782 Escape the Space Slug to four winners. Find out which models were chosen, in no particular order, after the break...

'Concentrate all fire on that Super Star Destroyer' - TheMikeAwakens

Several entrants made clever use of space by building taller models and this rendition of the Executor plunging into the surface of the Death Star II really stands out among them. I love the colourful burst of flames in contrast with the grey colour scheme and the textured detail on the battle station is excellent. TheMikeAwakens has even included a flame streaking from one of the starboard engines, showing brilliant attention to the scene in the movie!

'Good Morning' - Tim Goddard

Tim Goddard's depiction of Rogue Two discovering that Han and Luke have survived a frozen night in the wilderness on Hoth is magnificent. The landscaping looks superb and the judges were particularly impressed by the Tauntaun lying in the snow. Subtle details such as a dark bluish grey minifigure hand representing the harpoon and the open air brake on the Snowspeeder really bring this vignette to life.

'Sarlacc Pit' - SuperLegoFan565

The Sarlacc Pit proved to be a popular subject in this competition, appearing at several different scales and using an array of building techniques. SuperLegoFan565's stylised landscape instantly caught the attention of the judges and the detail of the Sarlacc is thoroughly impressive, featuring tiny tentacles which look perfectly organic. In addition, the vignette is cleverly constructed in scale with past LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar models and makes good use of forced perspective given its restricted size.

'Hoth' - Pino

Pino has packed a splendid selection of details from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back into a tiny rendition of the Battle of Hoth. This includes the North Entrance doors, the shield generator and two AT-ATs, one of which has toppled over. Both Imperial Walkers are posed very nicely and I love the skeleton arms which emerge from the snow to represent turrets protecting the shield generator.

Amazing work winners! Some of the other entries are extremely creative as well; I love the lipstick vs. syringe Final Duel!

Wow, they’re all fantastic but I do especially like the SSD.

Well done to everyone!

By in United States,

Oh well, maybe next time I'll get lucky. Congrats to the winners, though, they are all really good!

By in United Kingdom,

Absolutely awesome. Really great idea for a competition as you don't need a vast supply of bricks. I can't imagine many people not being able to build that super star destroyer one with the bricks they have lying around. All you need to add is the creativity. I'd love to see more competitions at this sort of scale that are accessible to everyone.

A new competition, relating to the sixtieth anniversary of the LEGO brick, will be launched tomorrow!

By in United States,

Great work to everyone who entered! I wish there were more prizes to give out as I thought many of the entries were stellar.

By in United States,

We gonna get the building instructions for these? I'm particularly interested in seeing how the sarlacc pit terrain levels are connected (if they even are, and not just lain one on top of the other).

By in United States,

Wow, these are fantastic! I second @darkstonegrey -- really hope we can get building instructions for these! Congrats to the winners.

By in New Zealand,

That last one, Hoth is more accurate then the UCS Assault on Hoth set !

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well done, those are all fantastic builds.

By in Germany,

Great builds. Congratulations everybody.

By in United Kingdom,

Congratulations are due! I knew TheMikeAwakens would be one of the winners - such a striking build and probably an iconic moment a lot of us didn't really think of straight away! Plus it's actually quite simple in terms of the pieces used which I think is great.

The other builds are also magnificent in their own right, with some interesting building techniques. That version of the Hoth ground assault was probably the most inventive and detailed.

No love for the Prequel Trilogy though? I did a Planet Core build with the Gungan sub which was probably superseded by a couple of even more striking ones, but there were some really good Prequel builds out there.

Edit - hope to see another micro-scale competition soon, whether or not it coincides with Lego's 60th brick anniversary.

By in Puerto Rico,

No wonder I and my entry Battle of Kashyyyk didnt make it, next time....

Gravatar
By in United States,

Besides the skill shown in the builds, the second most important thing here is that they're all from original trilogy scenes.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Excellent work, folks - some superb builds there!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Great stuff! Love the 'Concentrate All Fire on that Super Star Destroyer!' by MikeAwakens. Would be fun to build. Excellent work all around.

By in France,

I'm disappointed, but the winners are clearly deserving :)

Wow was not expecting to win... Congrats to the other winners as well!!
