Something about this set makes me feel like it would fit right in with the old 2004 HP sets - kind of nostalgic. I like it. The thestral looks so good.
Oh wow this looks great! Can't wait! Like this comment if you are excited for the return of the HP theme!
we have waited to long for the return of harry potter but i can now forgive lego as this is AMAZING!
That Grindelwald minifig looks a hell of a lot like a William Hartnell 1st Doctor to me.
Nice to see something at this price point. Haven't watched the new trailer but feels like the Ulysses Klaue hair in white would have been a better match to Depps look in Fantastic Beasts.
That creature is amazing!
The piece count feels a little low for $20... but the new Thestral more than makes up for it. Really awesome! Looking forward to the rest of the sets. If they are all as great as the Great Hall and this set, I don't think I'll be able to wait for any sales to happen before I get them.
Good head for the GOTG Collector minifigure here.
Very cool! I can see myself picking up at least two of these.
Definitely will get this!!
Looks like a fairly nice coach pulled by a rather strange beast...
Just saw the trailer pop up on my twitter feed.
Not an HP fan but this set is still worth getting, particularly for the thestral
Another nice looking Harry Potter set! I can see myself picking up multiples to create the fleet of Hogwarts carriages. The Thestral looks pretty good too.
I'll have to get some Harry Potter sets I guess.
Very cool looking set, stagecoach and Thestral look awesome!
That creature is too realistic for my taste :(
Stagecoach looks great its not as oversized as I thought it will be :D
AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!! Just watched the trailer and I'm SO excited, I loved the original movie and this one looks just as good! The set looks amazing, although after watching the trailer the stagecoach is pulled by about 6 Thestrals, not just one. That's a minor thing, though, as the set is only twenty dollars. Can't wait!
Love the dragon horse and carriage..
Great job lego..
Hope there's more sets coming soon?
I don't care about Harry Potter but that actually looks like a great set and the price seems reasonable too. I will definitely be picking one up.
I have misgivings about Rowling as a person and am not massively into Harry Potter or Fantastic Beasts as a result, but I have to say that this is a lovely set. With no changes, that 'horse' and carriage could be used for a vampire - which is how I will use it! As others have mentioned, the price point isn't too bad if it's £15 - £20 in the UK.
Thestral & new wands! I'm so in! :D
Seraphina Picquery looks bad with no hair except printing and her dress has no printing. New wands though look fantastic, they have a ball end so they can be pointed any way you like.
This is amazing! I can pick up a few of these and add the Thestral drawn carriages to the UCS Hogwarts along with all the other attachable sections. Well played Lego. Well played.
Wow, that threstral looks awesome!
I’m so excited and I just can’t hide it! Albus and Newt co-up = AMAZING!
The trailer makes me so much more excited than the trailer from the last movie. I can’t wait.
@GrizBe oh, yes it does! That’s weird.
The beast looks great but not my cup of tea.
What, didn’t they reveal the set number?
I'm sure I'm in a minority here, but I dislike Johnny Depp so much that bringing him into HP has chased me away.
The prophecy shows 2 of these in my future..
Edit: Agreed about the wands too. They don't look like lightsabers anymore =)
The thestral and wands will make great additions to my D&D style board game.
Like the new dress piece too!
It only has 130 pieces? Looks like more.
I like it, will be great to get at the normal $16 price. Two great minifigures, but that new dress piece needs some printing. Took 15 ears to get it and it's still very lacking.
@dyeriko i second that, the dress piece interests me
Looks good, but Grindelwald's hairpiece is way off. At least in Fantastic Beasts, Depp wore that Spencerist-"Identitarian"/Neo-Nazi haircut. I'm not too fond of printed hair on Minifig heads either, limits their re-useability...
The Thestral is amazing.
At this price point, seems like Lego is finally listening to the groans of their fans. The thestral looks fantastic!
Cool to see the Power Blast piece outside of the Superhero themes.
New wand molds? I like them.
How is that thestral attached to the hitch? It's sitting out in front from where would normally be connected. And why is there a dark tan piece instead of black under it's wings???
I don’t know what any of this is, but that horse/dragon thing is SUPER cool!
Blac train doors and dark pearl silver wagon wheels are very welcome! And then you've got the minifigs and the 'Fantastic' beast.
I thought there was one movie? This is certainly news to me.
I approve
@Boettner Builds the dragon horse thing is a thestral, a “monster” that can only be seen by those who have seen death.
We already got black train doors in the City bus, there are three, two lefts and one right.
darkstonegrey , I think it's used using a Technic piece that is a Technic pin with a stud on top. AKA it's not connected well.
The carriage is cool - but the Thestral is great !
Cute little set - love the thestral!! I also think this set would look good in pairs or triplets :-)
I could be wrong but I think the body of the carriage along with the front and back rails separate from the undercarriage to form a free-standing cabin. The rails either fold down to make the legs of the cabin or up so it can be carried (by the demon horse?). I think the roof might be detachable, too.
YES! YES! I will buy any Harry Potter set you release, LEGO.
This is just epic... such a small set with such an evil twist to it.
One of the most interesting things to me are the miniaturized versions of the "Elves-style" dragon wings. These would also work like the pegasus wings on Friends horses, which makes me wonder whether we might see some of these parts in Elves in the future (perhaps even in different colors)!
New dress piece.
Will this be the start of a new era?
The New set looks pretty nice, I mean the Thestral looks amazing and Is the best part of the set. The carriage is neat, nothing special, it serves it's purpose, but I have seen better carriage builds. Seraphim's looks great, then there is Grindelwald, that hair piece does not work well with him at all and brings the set down. I'm exited but confused what sets are still coming. Was this he third FB set we heard rumors about? Are the rest of the sets still coming?
Cool set. The carriage looks great! Sadly it is a bit too large and dark to fit into my Lego city. Love the old clothes on the two figures.
I am desperately praying that Lego will make a set or sets for this movie that include an old car. I love the very short scene in the trailer with the 1910 double decker bus and late 1930s cars.
Does anyone think an old car set might be a possibility? I believe there is a scene in the movie where Grindelwald is riding in the back of a car 'under arrest'.
The old clothes are great to get too.
Fab set, great price.
Would need 4 sets though to accurately depict the escape as the carriage is drawn by 4 thestrals. :)
An impressive entry. Given how secretive leakers where of this set I was expecting it to be the last revealed, but it's one of the firsts! I'm much more into HP than FB so this will probably be on the bottom of my wishlist for the theme, but it's still cool!
good set. bad figure choice. there is no figure for the drivers seat, and the price compared to the number of parts is pretty bad.
Crap I'm gonna have to get this for my Hogwarts I'm building. It looks like a great set and a great movie tho
Still waiting on HP set pics tho
@jrbookworm we got one only a couple weeks ago if you didn’t notice.
@Brick_Night I did see that set... it looks amazing. I'm coming out of dark ages, still figuring out how these things work.
So Johnny Depp joins Cate Blanchett as the only people to have three minifigures of themselves
Alfred Molina and Warwick Davis did that years ago, Judgeguy.
Hopefully Lego finally starts taking advantage of that Harry Potter license. Their releases in the past have always seemed sporadic at best, when the movies seem rich with possibilities.
They really need to make a black or dbg variant of that red Technic pin. Would have made so many sets (as well as buildable figures) look better.
