40291 Creative Personalities revealed

Posted by ,

40291 Creative Personalities has been revealed in a German LEGO store calendar for May and June. This small set takes inspiration from Hans Christian Andersen, depicting the Danish author as he writes The Ugly Duckling.

The calendar confirms that it will be available with purchases of over €65 in Germany from the 4th - 24th of June and a similar offer will presumably be run around the world.

Let us know what you think of the set in the comments.

Looks like a very nice promo the big question is what does this mean for the ideas pop up book.

Looks good. How many pieces I wonder?

Looks like a very nice display set and a higher number of pieces than most of the promos are. Yes wonder if this is a hint at the ideas pop up book being chosen. When are the results due for that review period?

Wow, that is really nice. Especially for a promotional item.

Lovely little free set!
Those questioning the similarities to the pop-up book may well be on the money; LEGO are giving us a brick-built book here to which reviewers can assign the phrase, "....but it would be nice if it could close like a book..." and then LEGO will be all like, "Well, it's funny you should say that!"

Wow, that is really cute! Seems really fancy for a promo item.

This is a nice, valuable free gift for customers. A real build. Good design, imaginative and creative IMO. Better than a little decorated cardboard box with a minifig inside.

By in United Kingdom,

Its a beautiful set but after the debacle that was the Minifigure Factory (5005358) ceasing to be available as a promotional item included with purchases so early into the promotion I'm not going to be getting excited for a promotion that Lego will probably fail to sufficiently stock. Lego seems to be failing to estimate demand for an increasingly large number of the items they actually sell.

Will definitely get me to make a few purchases!

Just great LEGO, another set I didn't know existed yet now can't live without. Thank you sooo much :) It does look rather charming and a very high piece count (I'm guessing over 400?) for a free with purchase set. I can hear the inevitable conversation now: "I know the roller coaster is really expensive but it's a pretty good deal when you get this set for free!" My wife, "I know it's Father's Day, but that's like 10 Father's Day presents in one shot." Me, "I'm fine with that, no Father's Day gifts for the next 10 years then. I'll mark it on every calendar!" My wife, "nice try honey. There's no way." That's the point when I begin to whine incessantly until she caves or until I'm sleeping on the couch. There are so many things one can make out of LEGO, in my case marital bliss isn't one of them.

By in United States,

Just the other day I saw an epic MoC of a fairytale book opened up with a fantasy setting on the page (no, it's not the Ideas one everyone is talking about!) Since I've been waiting for another order bonus to snag the new Infinity War sets this'll probably be my excuse to get the Milano!

That looks fantastic!

Hope we get it in the US. Love it!!

It's cute, but I was expecting a small set to complement one of or both of the roller coasters that are being released in June. Something like a carnival game booth, a whimsical statue or fountain, some arcade games (SkeeBall would be nice), or a bunch of costumed characters (though I guess you get that with the series 18 minifigures).

By in Sweden,

As a parent I love it when they make promotional sets educational like this. Better than a banana suit guy.

This is a real promo item we want.

A very creative idea!

I can confirm that, in the U.S., at least, the official set name is "Creative Storybook", and will be free with a $99 in the month of June.

By in Norway,

Now we are definitely talking!

Looks like some BrickHeadz and Ideas set will have to wait for June ordering.

Gravatar
By in United States,

$100 for that? I rather spend $35 for the banana guy or Easter Bunny than $100 on a stole Ideas set.

Nice, June is filled with some ideas....

By in United States,

I really hope this is the first in an ongoing series of "Creative Personalities". SO much potential here.

By in Austria,

At first I didn't pay much attention to this info and I thought some mini figures and ducks are given as freebies for Eur 65 purchase or more. On closer look then I saw, it is so artistically crafted. I would even purchase it if it is not a gift-away set!
