Cannot wait! I wasn't expecting any more sets from the first wave - so this is a surprise, to be sure... but a welcome one.
@bookmum who was hoping for Catherine Cat's Cottage for the random set of the day today- random generator apologises and hopes Unikitty will do instead??
Seems like not a lot for £40... although with the purple tracks, a couple could be used to extend the Joker Manor...
These sets look like they were designed for 5 year old on sugar rush, yet the age recommendation says 7-12. I can't see a 10 year old picking those over Ninjago or Friends.
@ulrichsson I’m 17...I’d pick them over Friends and Ninjago XD
Not too sold on the model itself, but it's nice to see the purple track and green coaster cars from the Joker Manor not exclusive to a single set any more - here's hoping the bricklink prices drop a bit from this!
I've come to realize that this theme is like a combination of the 90s freestyle (creative aesthetic), basic (figures) and paradisa (colours). It kind of makes me feel nostalgic, seeing the weird sets from the theme with nonsesical figures. I like it for that!
@Ayliffe in Canada you can order the purple tracks directly from Lego through bricks and pieces, the prices are about half of what the bricklink prices were when I typed this. I think you should be able to order them the same way in the UK because when I order parts this way they come from Europe. If you order just parts you have to pay for shipping but if your total is above the free shipping threshold and you add a small set then shipping is free. At least that's how it works over here.
Wow.
Nothing more to add, really. Just, wow.
@FreewheelBricks: I stand corrected. :D
So the giant LEGO theme park in my head will now also have a Cloud Cookoo Land section as well... Sounds great! The only question that remains is do I sell a kidney or my car to make my dream a reality?
I'm 39, I'll pick this over Ninjago or Friends.
I LOVE this! Though, the spinning ride is a bit too similar to the Friends theme Space Ride, which is a fantastic set. You'd also need two of them to make a full roller coaster. I'm going to have a hard time choosing between this and the Creator 3-in-1 Pirate Roller Coaster.
@allthenamesaretaken I don't see the tracks available through the LEGO online store. I'm in the U.S., but I also checked the Canadian site and they don't seem to be available.
Looks fun and has a good few characters.
It doesn't include the shallow drop straight track piece though, so not quite half the pieces of the Pirates Roller Coaster. So it's not ideal as a track expansion pack, although it's all compatible.
If it had just included the ramp-extension piece from the big coaster, but in purple, it would have been a must-have.
If my daughter sees it, I sure have no relief for days! Colors, theme, playability, minifigs and so... It's pretty cool and looks funny
@Ayliffe, as @allthenamesaretaken suggests - The Joker Manor rollercoaster track parts are currently available from Bricks&Pieces Lego UK a little over £1 each - £4.34 total for the 4 track pieces in this Unikingdom set!
I'm liking the Unikitty sets including this one - combined with the Creator Pirate Rollercoaster, and get a mini Metalbeard in there - well on the way to a Lego Movie rollercoaster!
Interesting that Unikitty sets are looking like they may be Tesco exclusive
Would probably buy this for parts maybe even buy two and make the roller coaster more complete, the spinning ride is alot like the space ride from the lego friends theme park range of 2016, this is probably the best & most interesting of the unkitty sets so far, Some really nice colours included here too..
Wow. That is not half bad!
Just when I thought it was useless... I want!
@ulrichsson, It's just a suggestion. They have to put that on there :)
@Librarian1976 if you go to lego.com then customer service then bricks and pieces, enter the joker manor set number or the part number for the track part that you want it should show up.
I don't know if this will work but this is one place to find it.
https://www.lego.com/en-us/service/replacementparts/sale
you will have to enter the set or part number there.
@allthenamesaretaken I've had both positive and negative experiences with the Replacement Part service. The first time I used it was for a Rancor Beast from the Rancor Pit (75005) with a broken finger (the clasp snapped). I just wanted a new finger and they sent me THREE new Rancors. The second time I used it, I had a Indominous Rex with a broken arm (the pin broke). I submitted an order three times and never heard anything.
Awesome, this could add variety to my park in the event I expand it.
Everybody is way too hard on this theme. This set looks great and the blocky colorful aesthetic is a welcome style we’ve been missing in Lego themes for quite some time.
I’m sure there are plenty of ten year olds who are Friends’d out. I love the theme, but restaurants and beach buggies can only be so interesting for so long. There’s gotta be some girls who are excited to build a roller coaster that giant kitties can ride. It’s the wackiness kids love about Lego.
@Librarian1976 That is rather odd, especially the three rancors. I've never replaced broken parts online, I always call them in and haven't had problems. The bricks and pieces area isn't for replacing broken parts though it is for purchasing individual parts much like the pick a brick area only with a far larger selection. I used it to purchase all the roller coaster track parts from the joker manor and a few extras because I couldn't see myself buying the whole set and it cost a lot less than it would have on bricklink.
I would call them if you needed to replace any other broken parts just in case they have flagged your account for some reason. They did that to me the first time I made a shop @home order and then just kept cancelling everything after that until I called them and cleared it up. (In that case I didn't realize the billing address needed to match the card address. It was the first time I had ever ordered anything online)
Anyway I suppose this is getting rather off topic for this article.
My experience was with calling them and them walking me through the process online.
I still don't see where I can buy just the track.
I love the show but these sets look like big buckets of basic bricks, so I'll just buy 3 cheapest and bricklink the rest of the figures. Rick is my favourite, but he is only in big sets. I guess no small kid wants to play with the depressed gray brick.
I know it's still far off, BUT I JUST WANT PICS OF THE SUMMER HARRY POTTER AND STAR WARS SETS!!!!!!!!! *cries quietly*
Unishitty!
Looks awesome! I'm definitely going to be buying this, a couple small sets, and some of the collectable figures. This is an awesome way to get track for cheap along with a bunch of characters and a nice extra ride!
@icey No need for that!!!
the track seems incomplete.
It's a common LEGO set in 2018, so of course it feels incomplete.
Spinny ride, bumper cars (sans arena), figures, accessories look good. Roller coaster cars look good. Roller coaster track itself, saddest ever. I feel it at least needs one more inclining piece after the 180, or they could have done it as a 'U' as viewed from the side so kids could pick the whole thing up & turn it back & forth, give the cars & riders an experience that lasts more than a second. Something. It just looks too limited in play value.
Unikitty? Unikitty! UNIKITTY!
YAY!
Looking forward to these Rollercoasters just love them
just wait till Tesco do their 3 for 2 on toys :) also my 10 year old daughter is in love with this as shes obsessed with unicorns and loves that its a rollercoaster
